How will I ever finish my Angels and Dragons deck without more terrible mythic dragons?

Where is the Conundrum Sphinx option? If decks start to run the Baloth before rotation, Jund will SB the Blightnings for UW(r), so I don't think Baloth will see a lot of play in T1 decks, but I think the side effect being that Blightnings will likely see play in the back back part of the 75 is a big enough impact.

Birds will always see play, lands will always see play- not sure why these are even options. However, none of the options will see as much play as the Sphinx. Thieving Magpie was already great at 1/3, so they made him a 4/4 why? Obviously the triggered abilities aren't the same, but with Halimar, Jace, and scry aren't they close enough to not warrant a +3/+1 boost?

Incredibly complex characters for every word...? 木 = tree. Not that complex to me.

    Japanese keyboard attached.

So, once again, did they say what time they'd be updating?

    1) It is as racist as the other word. And trust me, I see the former MUCH more than the latter. I haven't seen the latter used for about a year now. However, I see the former being used about 10 times a day.

    2) Calling a language awful and archaic, saying that it should be replaced, is racist.

    1. You are right, there are no degrees of racism.

    2. No its not. Saying that parts of a culture are archaic is not racist whether its traditions, language, or wardrobe. For the record, just because it is overly complex - which it may be, doesn't mean it should or will be going anywhere.

Why was this topic even created if there is no card here? Its nice that you're refreshing that site and all, but with no info, why even make a thread?

Liliana's tutor ability is neutered by Jace 2.0 and Sorin at 6cc is too late to the party.

Vamps may of had a good match-up against control at one point but that was before Gideon and Wall of Omens showed up. Not even Bloodwitch can avoid Gideon's ability to force her to attack into him.

Gideon comes down pretty slow against vamps. Control's matchup here is to always keep mana open to counter the Mind Sludge. If you tap out turn 4 to play DoJ, you lose Gideon and the rest of your hand to Mind Sludge. If you tap out turn 5 to play Gideon, everyone attacks- you lose your hand to mind sludge and Gideon is probably on his way to the yard. The vamps player won't always have the mind sludge, but as a control player, you really have to play around it like he does.

Do you believe this to be true even if Noctrunus doesn't come back?

Nocturnus was the only way vamps could race the other aggro decks- but in a different metagame where Sprouting Thrinax doesn't exist, it might not even be missed.

I'm not making any predictions as to what the new metagame will be post SOM because we have no idea what that set or half of M11 has to offer and that's when Nocturnus will rotate out, but the U Control vs Vamps matchup will always be in Vamps favor.

Nocturnus was a great kill condition, sure- but the crushing midrange decks that made vamps goldfish 2 turns earlier just to be competitive aren't around anymore. Early beats with grizzly bears followed by the inevitability of a highborn or blood witch seems fine as a win-con.

If the metagame becomes heavy blue control centric, then Vamps will dominate. Inquisition of Kozilek + Mind Sluge wrecks control.

The reason Vamps fell off is because it lost handily to Jund and Naya, which made up a large portion of the metagame.

Wow this card is broken with twinning glass.
Could be a potential combo in new extended.

I can't tell if this is a joke or not and there is no "not sure if serious" smilie. What's a guy to do? Seriously nuts with Vengevine post rotation. We have Kor Skyfisher and this fellow to fill the role of BBE and Ranger of Eos.

Maybe with Mishra you do a "same converted mana cost" although that MIGHT get broken.

That completely abandons the spirit of the card. I've thought about a Mishra Deck with "put a copy of that artifact into play".

Remember when Fae completely fell off the face of the earth when Jund came out and completely demolished it? Yeah... to think it would be any different with a slightly larger card pool is silly.

If it hit each opponent, then sure- or even if you got to pick your opponent, then it would be great. But as is, you're going to be focusing the most dangerous "hero" so dealing damage to the guys you don't care about is mostly irrelevant.

So they ban Channel and Rofellos because they pump out Emrakul too quickly? Why not just ban Emrakul? Seems like reverse Painter's Servant logic.

I'd say Rofellos needed to be banned as a general- sure. Staff of Domination made every infinite mana combo viable, so that definitely needed to go. Academy was degenerate, but with every competitive deck running wasteland, stripmine, and Vesuva anyway, it was borderline. Channel seems situational. Two card combo that gives you a fatty and an extra turn on turn 2 seems really good, but the likelihood of getting the two cards that early is pretty slim- I'd say this was pretty questionable as well.

This whole situation reminds me of a story, "Brasky would put on a white tie and tails and walk his cobra through the park on a leash. He named the cobra Beverly and taught it how to fetch and dial a phone. But then one day it bit the maid. So with tears in his eyes, Brasky had to shoot the maid."

The benefits of splicing on a bunch of different spells greatly outweighs the possibility that someone will counter it with a specialized counter that didn't even see play in block except for a sideboard card.

I can agree with that wholeheartedly- but that's not what you said.

Kodama's reach is strictly better then the reprint though, because it has the arcane type.

    Hisoka's Defiance begs to differ.

This is all just an argument regarding choice of words. I suggest that we replace the nomenclature as such; instead of saying-

"Card A is strictly better than Card B"

    we say-

"In the vast majority of reasonable situations, including Card A in a deck to the exclusion of Card B where both cards would serve the same purpose and functionality in the deck is the most correct strategic decision."
