Its not that bad, seeing it as a 3cc 3/1 flying. Its upkeep ability (though a bit slow) could delay games (it's like a pongify every turn).
I'm sure everyone will say it dies to every form of removal.
EDIT: And why is Aven Mimic a Bird Wizard, not a Bird Mimic?
Its probably an all multicolor set; MaRo clearly was leaving a hint.
Regarding the one drops, I'm actually more worried about two drops... how many possible 2 drops could there be for each color combination? Alara has used a lot of the good designs Tidehollow Strix, Goblin Deathraiders, Agony Warp.
One one side, I'm excited about seeing new gold cards.
On the other hand, I'm worried about poorly designed cards that are just forced to be gold.
Hmm... 22 not bad... though most are casual decks.. I dont usualy have the chase rares (like Goyf or Doran), as well as expensive manabases.
W - Weenie-geddon (Yes, Clairval, I use Glitering Lynx also... good with Armageddon) U - Chrona-Stasis-Lock (Now mono blue thanks to colorshifting!) B - Classic discard B - Jinxed Idol R - Confusion in the Ranks R - Elementals and Storm R - Quad damage (Furnace of rath + Mogg Maniac) G - 10 land Stompy WU - Counter Rebels WU - Opposition Millfolk RG - Classic LD RG - Budget Zoo RG - Call of the Wild WB - Orzhov to the Rescue UR - Suspend BG - Spirits/Arcane RW - Boros Sunforger Toolbox GU - Madness GU - Snake Tokens GUB - Aluren WUBRG - 100% Sliver WUBRG - Sunburst Bringer
Parabola01, yes i totally agree with Dawn of the Dead (most of the time its either hard to cast or pretty ard to work around with), Soul Net is, admittedly, pretty much filler, which I will gladly replace.
I totally agree with the 4of, I just tend to start a deck with 1ofs to get a feel of which cards are good (using existing cards), before immediately buying 4 ofs. And yes, it is Keeper of the Dead
The Lethal Vapors could be nice, but they could just sac the creature to the idol in response to the destroy effect.
Blutsau, the Brown Ouphe idea is really great. I will be considering splashing blue for Azorious Guildmage or Squelch.
Justbblunt, the Bouncing Beebles idea is good, too. Perhaps I can find an effect that benefits from an opponent controlling an artifact.
Hi. I chose this user name because I have a Jinxed Idol deck I'm very fond of, but unfortunately it does not quite perform well as I expect it to be. I figured I'll throw it out here and hopefully you guys can give me some insights:
Strategy:
Kill most of the creatures, cast Jinxed idol and sac it while attacking with your creatures.
Limitations:
1) I hope to keep it a black deck (for flavor purposes). Splashing another color is ok.
2) Hope it could win with Jinxed idol (not all of the time of course)
Put in Chance Encounter as added fun. EDIT: I skipped that line where you mentioned you dont like it, sorry.
EDIT AGAIN: Hey, but how about Goblin Bomb?
I'd like to add that Karplusan Minotaur is VERY interesting in Multiplayer as you can essentially choose an "ally" and you can divide the damage anyway you both want among the remaining players/creatures. same is true for Goblin Festival
I think what you may be referring to is that you cannot play Enchantments and Creatures and Sorceries when the stack is not empty. Only instants and cards with flash can be played "on top" of other spells.
The implication is that if you want to cast multiple Enchentments/Creatures, you will have to cast one (put in stack), let it resolve (put in play), and then once the stack is empty again, you can cast the second one.
Looks playable.
And potentially combos with Devour and other possible sac-a creature mechanic Jund has. (Though I would stilll prefer atacking with them).
Nice synergy with Crucible of fire... 2 7/7's. Timmy goodness
Granted only 2 cards have been previewed yet, but I noticed that since Devour has a built in card disadvantage to it, other mechanics (mass kill and token generation) has been added to compensate for the drawback... good design!
Sad news for sure. Normally the internet is a messy, uncivilized place, but mtgsalvation has been my haven for people talking about the game they love.
Good luck on your next adventure and thanks for the years of fun.
I'm sure everyone will say it dies to every form of removal.

Try to get ideas rom Jungle Book
It uses Mana Flare / Hearbeat of Spring to hard cast you big creatures.
I would also suggest:
Wall of Blossoms or Cavern Caryatid (block and draw early game, or replace with a card when you "raid" it)
Congregation at Dawn
In addition to persist, also look into big Unearth creatures you can use.

If your group allows Un-sets, add in Goblin Bookie as a redundant Krark's Thumb.
Mana Screw is also almost broken with the Thumb.
Good luck with your deck (hm.. literally).
The implication is that if you want to cast multiple Enchentments/Creatures, you will have to cast one (put in stack), let it resolve (put in play), and then once the stack is empty again, you can cast the second one.
Hope this helps.
Squee (you dont have to play red)

But right now all I can think of is add Candelabra of Tawnos, if you can get hold of it. Maybe you can add Dark Depths as well.
And potentially combos with Devour and other possible sac-a creature mechanic Jund has. (Though I would stilll prefer atacking with them).
