I'm looking to pick up some Tamiyos and I would like to know what people think the future of this card is going to be.
It seems that most planeswalkers have dropped pretty sizable amounts since their release - Elspeth, Tezzeret, Koth, Venser have all plummeted, and Liliana/Garruk are down substantially. Undoubtedly Tamiyo will be among that group - dropping over time - but does she have hope of bouncing back up post rotation?
None of the Scars walkers jumped up when Zendikar rotated, but could Tamiyo be any different? She's different from the other walkers, it seems, as being weak(er) upon release with the possibility of getting a lot stronger.
Obviously people don't know what's in M13/RtR block.
Im blown away from this deck, alone the miscuted Forces are something i have never seen in a playset.
may i ask where your planning to play this beast?
He did last weekend - at the SCG Open in Wisconsin.
A pic of the ensuing madness was going around on twitter the day before.
The pic has been going around twitter of Ben Carp's fully "pimped" legacy deck @ SCG Madison - the picture shows a bunch of miscuts, a crimped beta tundra? and a double printed brainstorm with the magic back.
As some of you might know, I've been collecting a global P3K-set. I'm still 13 cards short of the goal (4 being ones I don't have extra's in other languages), but I just got some sweet cards, so I decided to post one scan from a bunch. I'll hopefully have time to post some cool ones in the near future.
Neat
Click on the pic for full screen view.
From left: simplified chinese, traditional chinese, japanese and english.
Pretty close to the finnish line.
haha you made a PUN !!!
Nice work! - Is there a pic of everything you have so far, somewhere?
EDIT:
All this and not a single...not even ONE...tamiyo...
The distribution of things is WILDLY all over the place...
From 5 Japanese boxes: 6 vexing devil, 0 tamiyo, 0 tibalt, 0 griffin...EDIT x2: and 0 of the U/R land...
Nonetheless, I'm happy...my broski who needs 3 Tamiyo, though...
Do I personally like or am friends with my opponent?
Do I lose anything by losing?
Are my friends or people I like in top 8 contention?
Have I done math well enough where I can determine seeding for top 8 and want to either positively or negatively impact my opponent's chances of winning their first round of top 8?
For argument's sake, let's say I know my friend is going to be first seed in top 8 (because he's the only x-0-1) and if my opponent lost to me he would be 8th seed in top 8 (being the x-1-1 with obviously the worst breakers and we know no x-2s make it). My friend's match-up would therefore influence whether I wanted to beat my opponent, scoop to him, or actually offer the draw. If my friend had a good match-up I would try to beat my current opponent. On the other hand, if my friend's match-up was abysmal, I would offer the draw so my friend would play him as late as possible in top 8 play-offs (my opponent now would end up x-0-2 and in something like 2nd or 3rd place, which would mean battling my friend in the finals).
It's never actually that involved or obvious. Typically, I'm in the higher position trying to dream-crush individuals who would be in top 8 with a draw, but I try to squeak my friends in on x-2.
Considering stuff like Bobs and Snapcasters, with much universal playability are at the levels of $500+, I'd say this is lower. Not saying it's not expensive, but 500+? I don't think so.

Although, the price of a Russian foil Bob is probably the most controversially "valued" card in this game - I've never heard really interesting stories about any other card's value.
But, nonetheless, I agree with you that Russian Foil Elspeth likely isn't topping 500 (unless there are a couple people out there willing to bid each other up to that point), but Jace on the other hand sure would. Every time I look at the prices of pimp jaces...I want to...die a little on the inside...
Keldon Necropolis - interestingly, this card wasn't part of a 5-card cycle in invasion.
I don't really feel multiple colors from the name - Cathedral of War - seems like it'd be the place where Stormblood Berserker and Barbarian Lunatic hang out.
It becomes a matter of how many people are looking to build a really pimp avacyn (or whatever angel/griselbrand) EDH deck (or collecting) who would be looking for the oversized card (as opposed to just a jap foil X for probably cheaper) vs. how many people are looking to unload their luck for some c-notes.
Short term I think the people looking to unload them will win out (so they'll drop some), but long term they will start rising. Many people literally don't care, don't want to deal with carrying/transporting something that doesn't fit in a deck box, and thus would rather have a nice bit of money.
From stuff right now (standard T2 sets), definitely Korean. Russian may be rarer though, in the open market, especially in America. They seemed to cut the supply of Russian to many stores - places can get multiple Korean boxes, but very few seem to have any capacity to order Russian.
We used to crack about 3-4 Russian boxes per set...now we're cut to 1 (and other stores that can get Korean can't get any Russian). But the supply of Korean went from 0 when it wasn't in print to now several boxes per store.
So Korean is more sought after in the eyes of most people, but it undoubtedly requires more work to get Russian boxes.
i did a release draft tonight. p1 p1 foil g/w mythic angel or cavern of bowls? i chose the angel i think its worth more. they said u cant take 2 or else its cheating. so the person next to me picked entreat the angels first then gets cavern, lucky dude! i also got a vexing devil.
soooo. i think maybe its time to trade or sell that stuff while its hot.
i also bought a bunch of russian packs of new set to remind myself never to buy packs.
The foil mythic is worth a lot more than the cavern, yea.
Q. Look through it with my friends. If we know who it belongs to, return it to that person directly. If not, see if the store owner knows & let them take care of it. Usually when this happens it's not an expensive deck, but a less competitive players' deck that we can quite obviously say is theirs because either they play with it every week or we saw them play with it earlier.

Thanks for the awesomeness
Can we see your EDH deck??
Hopefully we get some more sweet pics!

Nonetheless, 0 tibalt & 0 tamiyo, yet more than playsets of some other mythics...across multiple languages...from multiple cases.

We're averaging ~4-5
Gonna have more pics next thurs, but for now:
3 cheers for the derpy moonfolk chick! Her russian name looks cool.
We're halfway through and 0/2 on AVR planeswalkers.
Nice pictures to be uploaded later...
