I just bought a samsung laptop from Best Buy that was 150$ cheaper than Amazon.

I guess that's a rarity, along with the helpful guy who worked there & seemed to pretty much know everything.

Been on bant-spirit-pod for a while, trying this now:

In the upcoming weeks I'm going to build Battle of Wits for modern. It'll be a fun summer project LOL - the store we play modern at is really, really serious, OMG, you have no idea how serious that tournament is. It's 6$ and 3 rounds - if you go 3-0 you get FOUR WHOLE booster packs.

So I'm totally going to build a completely foreign battle of wits deck and double sleeve it for standard FNM.

This is going to be absolutely fantastic.

If there are ~25 lands in a 60 card deck, I guess that means ~100 land in a battle of wits deck.

As was said about 30-40 posts ago (by Misclick and that one annoying guy with orange text), what the staff is working on at this point is just hashing out what their position is so that they can actually meaningfully work on a compromise.

Nonetheless, because it is behind closed doors, they should not close the gutter on July 1st without revelation of their thoughts on a compromise and ensuing discussion in public.

It'd be pretty unjust to say the gutter is still closed on July 1st as they continue their private discussion; they should have discussed whatever they are discussing now before this entire thread was even born.

i have been giving it some thought and how does jon's opponent not notice that card sitting there on the table or any of the announcers? was it just a heat of the moment thing

Also, Jon's opponent wasn't really cutting/shuffling Jon's deck that much...but then that time Jon made sure it happened.

Since 100 foil RtSs is perhaps 1% of 1% of 1% of the total number of foil RtSs in print.

    100 x 100 x 100 x 100 = 100,000,000

Are you saying there are 100 million foil reforge the souls?

    Seems awfully high, to me.

  • posted a message on Wisdom Teeth Removal Cost
He didn't give me details, or even try to sell me on a story of how bad they are or the negative impact they are having on the rest of my teeth.

Straight up, he wanted nearly 10 grand. Maybe there was a mistake in his billing system and it multiplied the per tooth cost by 4 twice - which would have been in the area of 2-3 grand. Although it's still more expensive, it's nonetheless more reasonable.

I don't know where else he would have gotten that outrageous figure from, but it's more money than having your freaking tonsils removed! I definitely want to go to some of the specialists in the area and see how much they charge - something tells me they'd think it was insane that this other guy wanted that much money.

  • posted a message on Wisdom Teeth Removal Cost
So, I recently got a quote for getting my 4 wisdom teeth out that seemed like a lot more money than it should have been.

I asked my friends how much they paid, and fortunately for them they had dental insurance cover it.

So, my question is how much does it really cost or how much did you pay? The figures google tells me is something in the order of 5 to 10 times less than the quote I received.

Of note, the dentist spoke of no complications and mentioned that my wisdom teeth haven't even fully grown in yet. Also, I obviously didn't go to him and say "OMG I NEVER HAD MY WISDOM TEETHZ OUT I NEEDZ THEM REMOVED ASAPPPPPPP!!!!!" He was the one who told me I should get them out and showed me what the cost would be.

I turned a stack of foils into flash cards for studying the bacteria in microbio.

Acetone'd the name and text box and wrote over with a sharpie.

    Altered pictures as necessary

  • posted a message on People at my Store Mysteriously Disappear after Drafting
In my store, for a draft, they'll just put all the suspected cheaters in one pod and the rest of us in other pods. It gets really funny because people aren't aware they actually set it up this way, and the cheaters never complain about other cheaters because they themselves are cheaters.

The above few sentences are about as serious as the dude who referenced the bubble bath with home grown loofah sponges. Who knew loofahs grew on trees? How unreal is that?

Honestly, if a player is suspected of cheating, there are enough people around where we can have someone (perhaps the TO, judge, worker, w.e.) "watch" their draft and just make sure everything goes smoothly.

Do you need letters from professors?

If not, go get one from a family friend/boss/etc.

You said your grades are good, so that speaks for itself.

Nawnawnaw broski bros, it's just the simple fact of having edit'ed it a day later...

    And the Tibalt is Chinese.

I agree with Bayou > Taiga.

    How about trading:

My: Sword of Feast and Famine
Their: Sword of Fire and Ice

I think SOFAF is more than SOFAI right now by a slim margin, but does SOFAF drop enough post rotation?

Elspeth Tirel jumped pretty noticeably post-rotation (especially with a U/W control deck going undefeated at Worlds, and also her interactions in G/W tokens), and Karn also went up a couple of dollars when he started showing up in U/B controls decks as a finisher.

I think it's logical to expect all the Innistrad-block Planeswalkers to have a natural bump post-rotation as the card pool is smaller and Planeswalkers are a safe bet for powerful cards.

Word, you're right - she went from next-to-nothing to 20.
