posted a message on Best LD general/color combination?
    Quote from felber42
zo-zu the punisher is a really fun one for LD

Agree, fact is that nonbasic hate like Ruination and the Moons are more likely to screw all of your opponents over rather than single-target land destruction. Wake of Destruction and repeatable effects like Dwarf Blastminer, combined with land punishment like Invader Parasite, Ankh, and Zo-Zu itself can make this deck quite harsh.

Nothing like floating mana to cast Zo-Zu and then using Worldfire, right?

    NO CHANCE.
    ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE.

I get tired of repeating this...

G is not allied with UW. That's something specific to the Bant shard, since everything in Bant is white-centric (UGare W's allied colors.)

There is no way in hell that they are going to add GREEN card that works with WHITE'S ALLIES in a CORE SET.
It would make as much sense to a new player as Nacatl Hunt-Pride -- is W supposed to be allied with R and G?

MARK MY WORDS, I put down ALL MY FRICKING STREET CRED ON THIS, there will be NO Noble Hierarch in M13.
If there is something similar, it will be Naya colored (WGR), since that is green-centric.

posted a message on Chainer's Madness
This looks pretty solid. Here's the one piece of advice I can give you: sacrifice outlets are the most important thing.

Say you start running more good nightmares, like Hypnox or Laquatus' Champion or Mesmeric Fiend. What you want to do with those is trigger their abilities and sacrifice them, so the LTB trigger resolves first, and then the exiling trigger. That's great for you, since their nightmare never ends.

Same happens with Chainer, if it's getting removed, you want to sacrifice all the nightmares you have, reanimated and natural, so they don't get exiled while Chainer's LTB trigger is still up.

And what's Abyssal Undertaker supposed to be, btw?

    Why not Winds of Rath?

posted a message on Need some flavor.
    Quote from Dahammer
What is it that Magic cards with extra space always need? I'll give you a hint: not cowbell. Also, if you're going to critique the card, at least give me some flavor text to work with first.

    Desert Duelist 1R
    Creature - Human Warrior (C)
    Haste
~ can't block and attacks each turn if able.
    2/1

"Can't block" and "attacks each turn if able" are extremely redundant. Drop the former, it appears more on black creatures.

    Earth Golem 5R
    Creature - Golem (C)
Haste, Tarnish 1 (Whenever this permanent becomes tapped, put an age counter on it.)
~ gets -1/-1 for each age counter on ~.
    6/5

Mh, change the Mechanics name. You could use it both as a drawback or a benefit (imagine a card with the opposite!) In any case, this works.

    Stream of Flames 2R
    Sorcery (C)
Put 2 age counters on target creature, then ~ deals damage to that creature equal to the number of counters on it.
Note: A more appropriate name would be useful as well.

Too expensive. Cost this R. Another name: "Consuming Rust".

    Wolfbriar Fiend R
    Creature - Wolf Spirit (U)
    Haste
Other red creatures you control get -1/-1.
    2/2

I hate this. It makes for ****tiest kind of deck building.

    Accelerated Growth xGGG
    Sorcery (R)
Search your library for up to X land cards and put them onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle your library.
    Flashback—xG, Sacrifice X lands

    Cute cute.

    Ashencoat Elf 1G
    Creature - Elf Warrior (C)
Flash (You may cast this spell any time you could cast an instant.)
Tarnish 1 (Whenever this permanent becomes tapped, put an age counter on it.)
    2/2

So, useless age counters? I would remove the flash and make it gain you life equal to the number of age counters on it when it dies.

    Creeping Vines G
    Enchantment (C)
1G, Sacrifice ~: Destroy target artifact or enchantment. Then, put a 1/1 green Saproling token onto the battlefield.

Seems okay, any reason why this isn't an instant or sorcery?

    Viridian Spirit Shaman G
    Creature - Elf Shaman (C)
When ~ is sent to the graveyard from the battlefield, you may pay G. If you do, destroy target artifact.
    1/1

    Ok, I guess.

    Titanic Archon 4WU
    Creature - Golem Archon (U)
1WU, Sacrifice ~: Counter target spell. Until end of turn, prevent all damage that would be dealt by sources that spell’s controller controls.
    4/6

Meh, who wants to sacrifice their big creature for this kind of effect? Besides, the two effects on it don't mesh well together... if you wanted to do the same thing but better, why not make the Golem gain you life equal to the the spell's CMC, so that way, you mesh them better?

    Withering Marks 2BR
    Enchantment - Aura (C)
    Enchant creature
    Enchanted creature can't block.
During your upkeep, put two -1/-1 counters on enchanted creature.

Is this for all the same set? Because age counters and -1/-1 counters going around are going to make this really hard to fricking track. Plus, this is a BRspell, they should be better at killing stuff than this.

    Rampaging Brute 3RG
    Creature - Minotaur (U)
    Trample, Haste
    R/: Regenerate ~.
    4/3

Fine, maybe should be bigger considering its a green uncommon.

    Abrupt Resolve 1GW
    Instant (U)
Target creature gets +3/+3 and gains Bound until end of turn. You may untap that creature. (This permanent can’t leave the battlefield unless it is destroyed, sacrificed or exiled.)

I had a mechanic similar to Bound. It was called Tenacity. It prevented any effects or abilities from opponents from affecting that creature except for destruction or damage effects. Yours seems more printable. But this card is waaay weaker than it should be. Go for +4/+4.

    Gather the Armada 3GW
    Enchantment (R)
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield, you may pay GW. If you do, search your library for a creature card, reveal it and shuffle your library, then put the revealed card on top of it.

Seems nice... but I hate seeing "Armada" in a non-blue spell.

Comments in purple, I take Aura has managed the flavor.

posted a message on Cards and Ideas
    Quote from Brushwagg

    Overconfident Bloodmage 1BR
    Creature - Human Wizard
R,t: ~ deals 1 damage to target creature. Put a +1/+1 counter on that creature at the end of turn.
1B,t: Destroy target creature with a +1/+1 counter on it.
"I will build you up just to show you how powerful I truly am."
    1/1

Ehhh. I mean, I hate the flavor. The card itself seems fine enough, a smaller Hunter of Eyeblights. Don't forget this card can outright destroy any creature with +1/+1 counters on it, which makes it pretty good in the right environment, and not at all overconfident.
It's also kind of weird because it allows you to pump your own creatures. I'm not entirely sure this isn't a lot of card for something that could easily be a normal pinger with a "3BB: This gains deathtouch" clause.

    Leashed Griffon 2W
    Creature - Griffon
    Flying
Creatures your opponents control have "t: Leashed Griffon loses flying until the end of turn."
"Grab the leash so I can put it down, quick!" -Griffon Master Svaldi's last words
    3/2

I always like this line of design.

    Spark of Inspiration 1UR
    Sorcery
Draw a card, then shuffle your library.
    Draw a card.
"Yes... Yes! That's exactly what I need to do!"

I see what this does, but I don't see how it is practical at all. When would you want to pay the extra mana to do this over just drawing 2 cards

    Tower's Might WBG
    Instant
Choose one - Target creature gets +0/+5 until the end of turn; or switch target creature's power and toughness until the end of turn; or target creature gains trample until the end of turn.

Switching P/T is :symur:, which is exactly what is missing here. Paying 3 multicolored mana for trample is underwhelming as it gets.

What about making it give a creature +3/+3, and then your choice of lifelink, trample, or regenerating that creature? That would seem pretty WBG, even if it has no direct connection to Doran.
If you want to Doran it up, then, uh, I don't really know. I never thought Doran fit its colors.

    Reflection's Gaze URG
    Instant
Choose one - Return target creature to its owner's hand; or target creature gets +3/+3 until the end of turn; or Scry 2.

Missing a red part! And the Scry 2 part is very weak.
