I saw the Prism addition in someone's list a page or so back and decided to try it out, I like it so far. There are some things I think need to be changed.
The divination's were put the in place of the mainboarded negates, I never felt good casting them and often just held them as a bluff. The Hybridization is for Blood Baron, or any problem creature like that. Before I moved the local meta was heavy with them. The Notion Thief and Slaughter Games are there until the event or I find something more appropriate.
Any thoughts or suggestions? This will be the first time I've played Paper magic since Grand Prix Detroit.
Hello there first time playing this Deck was Yesterday at Day one of GP Detroit. Started out hot, no byes fighting to 6-0.
...And then I lost the next three and missed day two.
I'll have a list and report later, actually going to go get gas so I can get there again for side events.
I have a good ol' Mario One Up Mushroom hat if you want to see the deck there.
Though...the first match I lost against in round 7 was just embarrassing. Mill. ugh. I dont even....He did my work for me, well I guess it was nice playing at table one. Not bad for my first GP

I have been working on an Ooze combo deck for a few weeks now and it has put up a few good results. The first week I played it I went undefeated. The next two weeks I got the top 8. only recently has it been doing poorly, and mainly aginst tokens. This deck is good aginst control, wolf run, and zombies. Tokens and U/W humans is just a little too fast if they hit a really fast opening hand.
My verson is BUG. I added the green so I could gain infinate life with Tree fo Redemption and another way to protect the ooze with Dawntreder Elk.
I assume you want to bring in Venser for the -2 primarily? If so it's a bit going over the top. If you got Artful Dodge you get the same result and you stay in a color you already have and you can play it if you discard/mill it in our graveyard.
Artful Dodge Doesn't interact with your opponent at all, it does the same thing as a soul eater - and is not a creature for the Chain of Scholar'ed Ooze
Venser on the other hand is different. I dont know about anyone else in the thread but there are some games i just end up sitting there and twiddling my thumbs because i've got nothing happening; if i play something it dies or is O-ringed; etc.
Venser serves a few different purposes.
Against the tide of newer players playing aggro at my shop he is an immediate target instead of myself. Not extremely reliable, but a 1 turn fog nonetheless.
If I use lunge and Scholar Ooze digging for one piece without finding it; he blinks the Ooze to save it from the Exile.
If i'm missing souleater his -1 makes my dudes unblocakble instead.
He blinks the O-Ring onto another threat.
His ultimate lets you remove threats with your spells that would otherwise be a death sentence. (Crusader, Hero, Elesh Norn, WCE, etc)
First I'll go through what i remember of the rounds then into what I think I should change.
Round 1 (2-1) Vs. Curse of Exhaustion/Knowledge Pool
Game one was over on turn 5...Scholar'ed Ooze with the three piece's in hand. Game two he locked me down before I saw anything. Game three he would have won, but he swung with his treasure mage; having a curse of exhaustion on me and his pool in hand.
Round 2 (2-1) Vs. UW Delver
Game one took over half the round for me to kill him. frustrating. Game two he blew me out with crusader, though as a note, Mental Misstep is fantastic at denying delvers. i even used snapcaster to flash it back so he wouldn't get the guy. Game three was over quickly as well.
Round 3 (2-1) Vs....Solar Flare?
I'm not even sure what this was. There was a lot of beef like wurmcoil and things like Liliana so i assumed it was solar flare. He got there game 1 on the back of Liliana and Wurmcoil. Game two i surprised him early when he tapped out on six. Game three went to turns and even hand me shaking a bit, he semmed to have a negate or a gftt every time i tried to combo; finally got there though.
Round 4 (0-2) Vs. UW humans
Ugh I hate turn 2 Anthem, turn 3 crusader, turn 4 hero both games.
Round 5 (1-2) Vs. BW Tokens
I dont even remember this one, just that she made lots of tokens with LS and Elspeth.
Possible Changes for My List:
Drop Red in Favor of White
-3 Faithless Looting
-The Red Producing Land
Move Tragic Slip to side in Favor of HL
-3 Havengul Lich
+ 3 Oblivion Ring
+ White Producing Land Equivalents.
+3 Venser, The Sojourner.
EDIT: Snapcaster Mage is pretty good in this list. Witchbane orb stops double Curse of Deaths Hold - that stops the combo. Any other questions I can try and answer.

It's been a while since I posted here. The past few weeks my meta has changed into 90% U/W aggro 5% G/W Aggro and 5% other. Now I've been trying different things to no avail. Last week I Top8'ed for what feels like the first time in months. This was also the week I tried something completely different from what I normally play.
If you change the general to Scion of the Ur-Dragon and ashes to Conspiracy, you have an easy way to find Niv as well as tutor up any creature in the deck. I'm not sure if that's more desirable than Horde's recursion, though.
Thanks. I actually tried the Scion and Conspiracy before, but i found the Hordes recursion to be needed more, rather than the ability to find Niv. He always finds his way into my hand each game anyway, whether its through any of the tutors, or reanimating him.
If the Purpose of the deck is not clear, which I suspect to some it is not, it is to win with the interaction of Niv-Mizzet and Greater Good. It is modeled after a reanimator build I piloted during Kamigawa-Ravnica Standard to moderate(Local) success.
Most of the choices should be fairly obvious here are a few that I believe to be less obvious, if you see any others please ask and I'll try to elaborate.
Trinket Mage Standard Utility, finding top in few cases. It's real purpse here is mana fixing via the Artifact lands
Phyrexian ingester In addition to being a fairly reliable creature, it also removes threats while becoming a large threat itself.
Glint-Eye Nephilim His combat ability is too nice to pass up with its interaction with Niv, his secondary discarding ability helps dump excess reanimation targets as well.
Loaming Shaman Because decking yourself after drawing so many cards is not that fun.
Liliana Vess The discard is hardly used here, because it draws the hate of other players at the table, only used if a person has no cards in hand. Its tutor ability is what it's really here for.
Ashes of the Fallen The only reason the general is Horde of Notions Rather than Cromat. Ashes lets you recur your creatures as long as you have your general and WUBRG.
