my take on harvest involves sacrificing creatures at instant speed to gain an effect, with a corresponding X creature requirement.

i think its possible since it has synergy with evoke and 187 critters.

Our local forum here are already counting this as the chase rare for the set. its a spike card and will get spike card pricing, 15-20 each is (so im voting 35-60) very likely after people stop opening boxes., 8$ on the prerelease date when people (noobs mostly) are still letting it go. We usually have the dedicated card traders buying low on that day. Extirpate was like around 12$ on the first week here and stabilized at 8$ now. "Thugseize" will see more use than that and definitely higher pricing.
Oh WAW, i opened up the spoiler list after an hour, and out comes the elves ive been dreaming of! wrens run vanquisher FTW, with general garruk commanding the field. Vanquisher meet my Skyshroud elite (I wish they would bring out a functional reprint or equivalent of the elite)
This is gonna push my standard Elf-Run deck to FNM powerhouse status.

Cartoonish art aside, remember its just the 1st part of the whole block, the dusk side might be grimmer for veteran tastes. The art may look cutesy in some level but remember magic had this kind of art in its earlier sets, (Foglio arts), although I felt like some of them didnt fit in. With the Lorwyn art it feels more D&D (original) and that maybe what their aiming for. The kithkins faces resemble halflings a LOT.
So now its confirmed,The excitement turns toward WHAT are they?
its very plausible that they will be affected by multiplayer cards, that opens up a lot of new interactions, I'd say a planeswalker may have its own mana pool? or maybe you could either play land for your self or choose to play it for your allied planeswalker, and those cards that say "target opponent" can also target planeswalkers.
COTH helps because there are a lot of sweepers in standard, despite the token having no ability itself, i consider it very useful in the mid game after the 1st sweeper hits, it helps you to recover board position.

... a magic themed restaurant would be cool tho, just dont serve food with undead names..
