Well the deck is now a T1 deck on MTG Salvation thanks to all the good results lately. That being said, there's like 12 decks in the T1 so that doesn't say much on our deck but it means Modern is very healthy. One thing I love is that our deck is going so Wide in game 1.

Have you guys figured how much life you need to be able to combo a 20HP??

I keep taking all the rounds time when I combo off and get lots of draws. I've only played like 20 games so far I must say.

Just posting what I'd recorded across the last 3 Smaller Modern events I played Knightfall in -

    List:

2-0 Grixis Control (board: -2 Retreat, -3 Birds, +2 Negate, +2 Finks, +1 Bojuka Bog)
1-2 Grixis Control (board: -2 Retreat, -3 Birds, +2 Negate, +2 Finks, +1 Bojuka Bog)
2-0 Abzan Midrange (board: -2 Retreat, -3 Birds, +2 Finks, +1 Staticaster, +2 Reflector Mage) - It's possible Bojuka Bog is correct here vs. Flayer, Goyf & Souls?
2-0 Jeskai Control (board: -2 Retreat, -3 Birds, +2 Finks, +1 Staticaster, +2 Negate) - Saw 2x Cliques G1, chose to bring in Staticaster as an easy answer to those & Snap.
2-0 RW Burn (board: -2 Retreat, -2 Spell Queller, +2 Finks, +2 Negate) - Without Blessed Alliance in the board, I feel like I'm boarded pretty light for this MU. Would probably bring in Reflector Mages on the play?
    2-0 8 Rack (board: -2 Retreat, -1 Birds, +2 Negate, +1 Reclamation Sage, +1 Kataki, War's Wage)
0-2 Jund Midrange (board: -2 Retreat, -3 Birds, +2 Finks, +3 Reflector Mage)
2-1 BUG Midrange (board: -2 Retreat, -3 Birds, +2 Finks, +2 Reflector Mage, +1 Bojuka Bog)
2-0 GW Company (board: -1 Birds of Paradise, -2 Qasali Pridemage, +3 Reflector Mage)
2-1 UB Mill (board: -3 Voice of Resurgence, -2 Selfless Spirit, +2 Negate, +2 Unified Will +1 Reclamation Sage)
    ID

I'm sure some of that is wrong, but I've been really happy with the 2 Tracker/2 Courser split in the main.

Like your list. Looks like mine, minus Trackers. I had 1 Eldritch Evo main and 1 Spellskite. Didn't feel good at all. Will change for trackers.

Any of you tried the Sejiri Steppe it's pretty good to protect combos or Queller removal. I queller'd a Supreme Verdict and on my turn as I declared attack phase, opponent plays Criptic on my queller to bounce it, tap knight, fetch Seijiri, protection from blue to my queller. It's the kind of play that makes me leaving it there. Main pain is that it comes into play tapped.

I've done nice plays with it, in grindy games but... its not Doubling Season at all... Idyllic is way better... it can find Doubling season and other SB answers...

Oh it's way too slow. It's just temporary until I find 2 more Doubling Season XD

    Hey all,

Reporting results from last night LGS tournament.

I went 3-1, losing to Sultai Control.

    R1 2-0 VS Esper Control
    R1 2-1 VS Ad Nauseam
    R3 0-2 VS Sultai Control
    R4 2-0 VS Fairies

Game 1 vs Esper I had 2 Nissa, only 1 green land so I went for a token and counters aggro, playing Doubling Season on T4 and creating a massive army. The guy then thought I was playing a GW Token Aggro deck. So game 2 he wasn't prepared at all. Doubling on T3 resolved and then Jace on T4. He conceaded once he realized it was the Planeswalker deck and he wasn't ready for it at all.

Game 1 vs Ad Nauseam I was on the Draw and he put Phyrexian unlife on T3 so instead of playing Doubling season I played Nahiri and exiled Unlife. T4 I played doubling season but he killed me before I could ult nahiri or found any other planeswalker. Game 2 I combo'd T4 with Jace. Game 3 was a longer game but I casted a Tamyio, found Ral Zarek, got 2 extra Turns and I top decked Emrakul so he conceaded.

Game 1 Vs Sultai control, too much discard, mulligan to 5 both games, didn't find Blood Moon on Game 2. Was horrid.

Game 1 Vs Fairies, I had Jace and Nissa without Doubling, when I found Doubling Season on T6 I cast it, she bounces back Jace in my hand. I had enough mana to cast him again and won. She didn't realize what doubling season did to Planeswalker. Game 2 I locked her down with Blood Moon on T2 and then I had Nahiri at... 24... blocked by a grafdiggers Cage. Then I was top decking to find any Planeswalker and it took... 13 rounds before she just scoop realizing she would never win. I found Doubling season very late.

VS Discard it's really hard... you need to find either Leyline or Blood Moon on your starting hand on G2 AND G3 because G1 is almost unwinnable. That being said I had lot's of fun with this deck. Specially watching your oppening thinking which Planes he should take down first.

I won à gains burn it's not à tough match up. I had Leyline up for game 2 and 3 and I play with sylvan cariatyd over noble hierarch. Since im playing 4 gilder bairn on paper I also play Pulse of Murasa to bring it back and the 6 life gain help against burn. They ususally just run out of gas and you can finish em with the combo with out replies

    Hey all,

been playing this deck online but still missing Doubling Season on paper.

I've been playing this deck replacing Doubling season with 4 Gilder Bairn
It only doubles a single target but it can be even more annoying then doubling season. Let's say you double Gideon on each turn and force creatures to attack him...

Also it can untap in the damage phase if you attacked to tap it. Tamyio and Ral Zarek can tap it too. It's more of a control kind of strategy with all the planeswalker and you also don't have much answers to fast combo deck but it's working well and it's fun.

Drop a Lab Maniac and A I will sudden shock it or B drop a mountain with either sakura or fetch land and you're dead... ad nauseam winning tru lab maniac VS scapeshift is risky.

I'm wondering, against which decks do you bring in pulse of Murasa, from the sideboard?

    Pulse of murasa vs Courser?

I was playing courser at first, but I always find him to slow and there's alway a lot of hate against him before he becomes completely useful.

This sunday i went to a local tournament. There were about 16 people competing for a Kiki-Jiki foil. I split the first place.

    1st Round: Blue Moon (2-1)

1st game: He casted two thing in the ice quite early, and then controled the game until he killed me with one of them.
2nd game: I brought from the sideboard 2 Gaea's Revenge which destroyed him completely.
3nd game: Same, my opponent couldn't handle with it.

2nd Round: Death and Taxes (2-0)

1st Game: He mulled to 5 and never really got into it. (1-0)
2nd Game: We both mulled to 6, but I don't think he got a pretty decent hand since he was really slowly. Still tried to control my game with Aven Mindcensor, Leonin and thalia but sudden shock and anger took care of it. Just needed to scape for letal.

    3rd Round: Naya Aggro (2-1)

1st Game: I started the game, and was able to scape in turn 4. (1-0)
2nd Game: Nothing special, he just was way to fast for me to handle it. (1-1)
3rd Game: I just raced for a Scape. He mulled to 6 and didn't have a great start so I got more time than the usual. Still, i scaped for 7 lands and totally forgot he could have a helix. Luckily, he stayed at 1 life, which allowed me to cast a summoning pact, casting a sakura and sac. it for a mountain. I was really lucky.

4rth round: We split the game, didn't even play it.

Glad to hear that Gaea's Revenge took another blue mage down. as for when you bring in the pulses. i bring them in against Burn, zoo, heavy aggro.
the Six life you gain is great against them. the other match ups i want them is for jund/junk Thoughtseize decks. it helps the one for one fight. it's better vs Jund then junk but still good.

I have also found lifegain useful to beat Ad Nauseam. I bring in the Baloths and any lifegain (murasa or Courser) if you can reach 34-35HP it's nearly impossible for him to kill you. He will need ALL his land in the deck.

    Pulse of murasa vs Courser?

I'm playing courser but I've never actually... played it. I think I'll switch for murasa.

well Leyline u need it T2 so basically if u don't have it starting hand it's too late so you don't really need white. You just need it... starting hand. What do you think?

I found them very useful and I don't miss explore at all. I can empty my hand on turn 2 or 3. I haven't seen a situation where I was like... well that's a dead card but a couple times I was like... if only I had an amulet active. But sometimes it was just... irrelevant. Like when you have a turn 4 hand it will still be a turn 4 kill with or without amulet. I got a couple weird looks playing that card from other guys but after seeing it in play most guys agreed it was helpful. Honestly I don't think that it makes the deck stronger but it doesn't hurt it at all. Will still play it.

I still dont get it, whats the advantage of playing amulet of vigor?

    Farseek - Untapped land.
    Sakura - untapped basic
    Valakut drops untapped
    Titan fetch 2 untapped
    Scapeshift drops... x untapped
cinder glade lands untapped even with no basics
    Khalni 2 basics untapped.

It gives more value to any of the cards you play. Earlier it helps fixing land drops and later it makes you empty your hand faster and sometimes make a double scapeshift of scapeshift into titan.

And when you have 2 actives it's just ridiculous... you can get 1 floating for every land you drop. 1 far seek becomes 1 floating + 1 untapped land. So you can play another card. Usually you would tap 2, fetch a cinderglade tapped then pass turn...
