    Hi folks!

I'm currently in the process of getting into Legacy on MTGO, coming from modern.
I currently have RG Tron assembled in modern, and also have a lot of the pieces needed for modern Jund, excluding Liliana.

I also have built GW 12-Post, which I've enjoyed, but I'm getting sick of the terrible combo matchup. They all just feel unwinnable.

My problem I bring to you is that although I have goyfs, I really don't take to any of the decks in legacy that play him. The delver variants are all a bit dull to me, and I am on something of a budget, which sadly rules out Lands, which is by far the most interesting to me. Also Port is absurdly expensive.

So... What deck should I play? I'm not averse to any playstyle, although a deck I could put together fairly cheaply (for legacy) and then develop over time would be ideal.

So basically, a cheap fun powerful interactive deck that has good match-ups against everything in the format and also lots of staples that go in other decks. Smile

The fact you have never lost with the deck against burn is possibly an anomaly. Although I have a solid record against it online (12-9) in my favour, on paper it should be a rough matchup. Bringing in the Brownscale squad has helped a whole bunch, and the Conflagrate innovation has similarly been excellent. I'd say anything that can't win by ~turn 6 is a fairly good match, but CoCo has been incredibly challenging. Does anyone know if you can dredge with a Grafdigger's Cage in play?

Of the new cards, Molten Vortex is a clear winner, as it's a fair upgrade over Flame Jab, though testing will tell whether it will be good enough to warrant the risk of being dredged away and unusable. Don't think I'd want more than 1-2, any more, and building around Seismic Assault is probably safer. Part of this deck's charm and power is the fact that we really don't care about having a board, save one lowly little enchantment.

Keep fighting the good fight chaps, this deck definitely has legs, but I don't think we are going to see any significant uptick in its play, in that it punishes poor knowledge very hard, and really doesn't have a turn 4 kill which is important for some players. Still, we don't want it to get big, because grave hate really sticks it to this deck.

May your opponents never side in grave hate.
(Apologies if someone replies and I don't get back to you quickly, busy week coming up!)

The coverage is all about the sideboard. Had Jensen and Stark educating us about different archetypes, and now a rundown of all the sideboard cards from the top of last week.

I certainly prefer SCG coverage, but then I like Riley, so what can you do.

It would be interesting to compare the metagame of GP Copenhagen (presumably mostly European players) vs a GP that takes place down the line in America, to see whether the EU metagame is significantly different to the US meta, same with the Asian metagame.

Either way, Jacob Wilson is on the Grishoalbrand plan, and the coverage are all over it. Not sure if it's massively represented though.

Ah I see. I got all angry for a second thinking he cheesed the concession there. I'll cool off.

A lot of Esper being played at the Feature match area it looks like. Some amount of burn as well. I like it, though I don't doubt once we get a bit later in the day there will be a lot more twin representation.

Why did he concede? Muller couldn't pay for the pact on his next upkeep could he?

If Joe Lossett made it into top 8. He was on Griselcannon.

2 Amulet Bloom and a Goryo's reanimator deck= some quick games.

Good lord but all the guys in the top 8 are down on Modern. "yeah it's just a coinflip, I'm only here because I have to be"

    Nice to see some enthusiasm.

Grixis really is picking up steam online as well, I wonder what percentage of this is due to the increased availability of Bloodstained Mire and Polluted Delta, and how much of it is because Kommand is the hottest thing you can be doing these days.

Either way, sad Joe Lossett didn't make it to top 8. Wouldn't mind seeing the top 8 last like 5 minutes per match because everyone is turn 2'ing each other!

Would you not rather Deathmark? For two whole mana (but sorcery) less, you can kill both types of creature those two hit.

That's certainly an interesting way to look at it, mustn't forget about the prevalence of Naturalize effects impacting this.

I admit I posed this question with modern in mind, but it's certainly interesting thinking about how much it would help mono green in EDH. Plains moon does seem painful to play through. Looking through legacy and my modern decks, there isn't one that wouldn't fold to suddenly having all it's lands being plains.

I've been thinking about this, and I wanted to put the following question to the MTGS community.

If Blood Moon did not make all lands Mountains, and instead made them another type of basic land, would it be weaker or stronger dependant on the colour?

I imagine Island Moon would be unplayable, but after this, to what extent do you think each of the Hypothetical moons would be played. Feel free to rank them 1-5 if you so desire.

What motive could the store possibly have for raising this? Seems like the legal fees would vastly outweigh whatever marginal gain they stand to make.

I understand WOTC going after small companies when there is a breach of their IP, but here? No idea.

More than one Snappy is probably a good idea. Most lists run 2-3 because it's so versatile. Getting back Scapeshifts that were countered/discarded can be huge. I also tried Clique in the sb, but I never really liked it. It's not really great in any common matchups. I would also advise you keep Izzet Charm at 2. The card is incredible, as all 3 modes are useful to us, so it's never really dead.

Thanks, I thought it was worth jamming Tiago in another slot, will probably go down a Repeal to fit him in.

Ok, I'll take your advice on Clique, I was thinking it probably only shines against Twin and other counterspell decks, and they tend to run Electrolyze which is the ultimate blowout.

On another note, I'm thinking about handing in my Valakuts. Got beaten by mono black devotion running Sadistic Sacrament. That one stung

    This is a cool list.

I have a similar Athreos deck online, and it's a blast to play. Think I might take a leaf out of your book and lower the curve. Mine is filled with W/B fatties and I'm having a hard time casting more than one a turn.

I recommend Sidisi, Undead Vizier in there though, sometimes you cast her twice and get all the value.

TL:DR, side in Enchantment hate even when you aren't sure they are packing moons, or wait for confirmation?

I would say it depends on the MU in question. You certainly should for Twin, since those cards are also useful against the opposing combo. But against another deck that you think may side in Moon, it depends on how many viable targets you see game 1, and how many viable targets you think they kept in against you.

    Good advice, thanks.

I was caught out against Grixis Delver, not expecting to see the moon come down, being that he hosed himself off all his colours too, but I guess they can win through the moon whereas it's a lot harder for us.

Considering running a one of Vendilion Clique in the main, to give me that possibility of sometimes just beating someone to death with it, as well as being able to protect a Scapeshift and in some cases I guess even just Ambush Viper stuff.

I'm running a one-of Snapcaster Mage but considering going up to 2, in place of one of 2 Izzet Charms. Number of times I've cast Tiago targeting a Search for Tomorrow for the last land to 'shift is non-zero, and it's nice to have that flexibility.

    Hi Folks.

Recently bought this deck online. Having good times, but I've suffered a bit of hosing from our dear friend Blood Moon.

My question is, should we pack hate for it in any matchup the opponent can cast it, or only when we have seen it/against known suspects like Twin?
I'm not totally cold to it mainboard, as I run 2x Repeal and the compulsory 4x Cryptic Command, and I have Krosan Grip and Back to Nature in the board.

TL:DR, side in Enchantment hate even when you aren't sure they are packing moons, or wait for confirmation?

Hope this stirs up a bit of chat back on this board too. Hugely valuable resource this thread is.
