Haha, I was waiting for someone to say Urborg/Coffers and Exsanguinate is great for us, makes me think that Koko might be as well, but I'll let someone else bring that up.
Given the lack of a may, there might well come a time when you really don't want him in play, so some sac oulets would be good. I'll start with the versatile Dimir House Guard. So far, there's only one CMC 4 card for him to transmute into, but that can always change, right? And if it doesn't, someone can chuck him later for an altar....
Yeah, it's fairly easy to see that transmute ability being useful here, there are a lot of great four drops in black & colorless.
"He is judge, jury, and executioner because he killed them all."
Hey there MTGS Community! Recently, Kothophed, Soul Hoarder (aka K-PHED) was spoiled and although it didn't wow a lot of us as a Commander, it is incredibly flavor-full and a card many of us hoped would see print for a long time. Although Kothophed isn't a stunningly obvious choice as a Commander, it is still an efficient creature that can offer a LOT of card draw in exchange for your opponent's permanents being destroyed/sacrificed.
Now, obviously the major hurdle we need to overcome is that Kothophed's ability isn't a "may" effect and therefore our life total may need to be supported with cards like Exquisite Blood, or other better cards I'm not thinking of right now. This become more of a hurdle when we think of some of the better black card draw that we'll want, like Necropotence, Phyrexian Arena, Promise of Power, etc.
If you don't know how "Let's Build" works, you simply suggest a card to be added to the deck, or a card to be removed (and a new card to be added in its place). Once the decklist is complete, I will build the deck and this will become a standard EDH deck thread.
Without additional delay, here is our current decklist (I'll try to update it with each new recommendation):
The first card added (by me!) is... Fleshbag Marauder, a perennial favorite in EDH and will force our opponents to sacrifice a creature, giving us a card draw for each creature that dies.
I agree with the above rankings of the new PWs, that said I wouldn't play any of them as my Commander in EDH. Really hoping that there are some better EDH cards coming.
That's not too far away, a lot closer than many others! Karn Liberated foils are now available in multiple sets, that should help the value settle a little lower.
I don't know how "incredibly easy" it is to say that Young Pyromancer is more powerful than Goblin Piledriver. It really depends on what you're trying to do, and there's certainly an argument to be made for both.
I'd calm down, they're probably going to use the slots that were dedicated for bad red aggro to put good red midrange instead. Less Gore Swine. You don't need Gore Swine anyway.
I think we'd all be happy with a little less Gore Swine in our lives.
Yeah either Gideon doesn't seem extremely appealing to (multiplayer) EDH. I think Kytheon will be wrecking tiny leader however this is a slight different thake on EDH altogether.
So far no real EDH staples have been spoiled in Origins. As far as Im aware of. I hope those will come soon!
Lol, no apology necessary bud, I should have specified!

Thanks for the suggestions!
Haha, well played!
Oh, I like that idea!
Nice addition, thank you!
Now there's a way to gain some life back! Great suggestion!
I like the way you think!
Two of my absolute favorites, great call!
Just for the vorthos, right?
All suggestions updated. Thanks guys!

Eh, that's what you get for trying to respond while attending a wedding.

As an EDH player, it's very hard to be excited about any of these.
Very nice, congrats! Doubling Cube is an old fav of mine and foil in original set is a thing of beauty!
I think we'd all be happy with a little less Gore Swine in our lives.
Really? I wouldn't play this in EDH. We don't just play every garbage you know? Oh wait, what's that? Oh, we do? Huh...
Spirit of EDH
I'll be happy to be the mafia rep and confirmed with Bur via pm.
Other than that, how's everyone been doing? Playing lots of EDH I hope!?
