I've been messing with Elite Scaleguard, but it doesn't have enough umph and certainly not for 5 CMC. Maybe I'll try Dragonscale General instead.
I've got to complete my collection of fetches before I run Vinelasher, I think. Hence my advice is based on a less experienced and non-competitive deck. Right now he just seems like he would be slow for me (I'm only running 2 until my budget can support my buy list). Maybe I'll test anyway. I'm also hopeful that they will be reprinting the other fetches soon.

I need help with the order of things to purchase to be competitive as much as possible. Should I try and get Umezawa's Jitte and Sword of Fire and Ice before or after completing my list of fetch land?
@RedGambit - Have you thought about Braids, Cabal Minion in lieu of Vinelasher Kudzu? Or perhaps Mikaeus, the Lunarch? I like Mikaeus because of the instant speed give everyone a +1/+1 counter that he does. With Anafenza, or with Gavony Township, or with Ajani (any), or with Dragonscale General, or other counter providers, giving just 1 counter to Mikaeus turns into boosting the whole army each turn, which I like. But I exist in a slower meta so it may not work for you.
Kitchen Finks The guy who top 4'd the French Nationals (PBardin I think) said that it was a little too vanilla if I remember correctly. How do you remove the -1/-1 counter to keep him alive forever? My apologies if I quoted PBardin wrong.
Hey everyone. I'm new to EDH and since I had an Ana that I pulled from a KTK pack, I started with her as my commander. Love it so far! Though I'm a bit on a budget, and just now getting the mana base straightened out, its going well where I am. When the mana comes, I'm good to go.
Decklist. A note about this: The mana base here is what is in the mail, not what I'm playing. So I still have some mana issues.
I know I have some things to get figured out. But its on its way. Any criticism is welcome.
I like Bramblewood Paragon, Tuskguard Captain, and that other one that's a 4 drop that does the same thing, and when my order gets in I'll be running all three. I would guess that long as you don't think you're missing card draw after the switch, then its a good one, but only testing will tell. Why are you shying away from Tutelage?
Also, has anyone tried Rancor? It has won me a couple of games. They kill Ana with trample, bring her back out with trample. Repeat.

Also, would Loxodon Warhammer and Sword of Vengeance be reasonable substitutes until I can acquire the Sword and Jitte?
Also, I like either Ajani, Mentor of Heroes (though his curve is too high), or Ajani, Caller of the Pride instead of Ajani Goldmane. His vigilance until end of turn I don't like with Ana's requirement to be tapped.
Last: Your thoughts on Tainted Pact?
I would say Strip mine > Tectonic Edge. Also, not unreasonably priced.

I would ask about Pithing Needle, or Phyrexian Revoker in lieu of Nevermore?
