Amazon lists the contents as 2 Planeswalker figures, 3 hero figures, 11 squad figures, 15 spell cards, 9 army cards, Battle for Zendikar Board Game Expansion Pack Guide.

I wonder if that is correct, what would be the two other hero figures?

It's correct, but bear in mind that list also includes the Eldrazi figures. The three heroes are the flying Kor, the Merfolk and the big Eldrazi.

Not an angel, but a flying Kor (those wings are too bat-like to be an Angel - it has to be a Kor with a Kitesail)

Would it have killed them to include a few more of the rocky terrain pieces? The number you get in the base set is completely inadequate, one tiny hill adds nothing to games Frown

My 8 year has this really janky Soul Sisters deck that he takes to school and has wanted to put a couple copies in there for a year now. And now he can.
This just made my morning. I hope the little dude smashes face with that... well, ok, gains lots of life and triggers the alternate win condition. I'm happy to see Desolation Twin as an intro pack rare for the same reason. A foil alternate art D-Twin is going to make some young Timmy very happy.

I'm going to miss seeing the advertisement cards as often as before though... said nobody in history ever. Seriously, I hope this change is here to stay.

No alt art Desolation Twins for anyone, I'm afraid Frown These are the 5 NON-face card rates for the intro decks.

They should've made this activated ability be the new Nephalia Drownyard. "Draw a card. Each opponent exiles three." Then for late game it would be cool and constructed playable in the inevitable Esper Eldrazi deck.

I just want to see if there's Eldrazi that have W in their cost.

Mark Rosewater has said that there are no White cards with Devoid. Looks like White is more of an Allies colour than a gribblies one.

[quote from="testthewest »" url="http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/magic-fundamentals/the-rumor-mill/628153-zendikari-expeditions?comment=252"]Well, that not really true. I wanted more fat packs since they announced the lands will be full art but this certainly helps to sell more in the long run. Im really glad, they want to do this.

Warning: Zendikar had full-art lands... except for the fat packs.

You know how sometimes these days, you'll spot a weird zendikar land that does NOT have full art?

    Those came from fat packs.

Watch out. While BFZ fat packs MIGHT have the full arts... I wouldn't count on it. Find out first.
    <

Incorrect on both counts. Fat Packs in Zendikar, Worldwake and Rise of the Eldrazi all came with 40 full art lands. It was the intro decks which came with "normal" basics. It has also been confirmed that the Fat Packs for Battle For Zendikar will contain full art lands (although it has yet to be confirmed how many lands total will be in there, or whether there will be a mix of full art and normal basics - I'm inclined to expect either a drop back to 40 lands, or a 40:40 mix of the two).

On the Expedition Lands: I'd like to be more excited about these. I really would. They're super pretty. But with them being so scarce, and the inevitable splurge of people with bottomless wallets hoovering up entire sets of them... I feel this is like the Ugin from the Ugin's Fate boosters. I'd never seen a single one of those, until a couple of weeks ago when I met someone who had 8 just sat there in his binder. Not to trade, not really to use, just to show off. Kind of ruins a special product for me when I have to assume from the start that I'm never actually going to see one being played.

    Hello,

Yesterday, on MTGO I believe I had a problem with Hixus, three times!!!

I tried casting just after first Damage, after the End of Combat and on the Second Main Phase. In all three cases the unblocking attacking creature that dealt damage to me was not exiled...

The text says "Whenever a creature deals combat damage to you, if Hixus, Prison Warden enters the battlefield this turn, exile that creature until Hixus leaves the battlefield."

By that text, I though that the effect should take place regardless of when it enters the battlefield as long as it is on the same turn!

I really believe I would have won the game if it wasn't for that...

Does any one know if it is indeed a bug?

If not, when should / could I have casted it?

    Best regards,
    dg

Hixus, Prison Warden has to actually be on the battlefield when the creatures deal damage to you to be able to exile them. Otherwise, it does not "see" the creatures dealing damage in order for its ability to trigger. If you want to exile attacking creatures, your last opportunity is to cast him after blockers have been declared, but before moving to the damage step.

Fake. This is a painting by Noah Bradley (who has done work for WotC before) called The Birth of Eden. It's entirely unrelated to Magic though.

This sequence of events is brilliant. It certainly isn't slow play though.

3.3. Tournament Error — Slow Play

    Definition

A player takes longer than is reasonably required to complete game actions. If a judge believes a player is intentionally playing slowly to take advantage of a time limit, the infraction is Cheating — Stalling.

It is also slow play if a player continues to execute a loop without being able to provide an exact number of iterations and the expected resulting game state.

    Examples

A player repeatedly reviews his opponent’s graveyard without any significant change in game state.
A player spends time writing down the contents of an opponent’s deck while resolving Thought Hemorrhage.
After 3 minutes into a round at a Pro Tour Qualifier, a player has not completed his shuffling.
A player gets up from his seat to look at standings or goes to the bathroom without permission of an official.

Your example is not one of these things. The player is repeating the loop with the intention of dealing damage to their opponent. Really, at this point, the only person wasting time here (albeit not in an official sense) is the opponent by not conceding to a loop which will kill them.

I can understand it from the storyline aspect. And I get your point, which is a fantastic one. But it's clear that they had this in the works for a very long time. So why not save Ob Nixilis's and Nahiri's planeswalker card for the set and used planeswalkers that haven't appeared yet for Commander 2014 (again, like Tevesh Szat, a very important and evil character who never got a card)? Daretti should've come out in Conspiracy (although Sydri is from the same plane and she appeared in Commander 2013) so we could've finally had a Jaya Ballard planeswalker card. Any of the planeswalkers could unknowingly save Ob Nilixis from the plane after his help in defeating the Eldrazi and thus, being away from the plane, finally get his spark to work again. Who knows?

We would never have had a Jaya Ballard card in C14. That was never going to happen. The Planeswalkers were designed to fit the themes of the deck, which they decided on before the contents. The red deck was always going to be an artifact based deck. It wasn't a case of "hey, let's take a character from Fiore we'd like to expand on and give them a deck", it was "hey, so we need to come up with a character which will fit a mono-red artifact theme..." I think they did a perfectly decent job with the cast of characters for C14. It would be an incredibly poor decision to only use old characters. We get it, you want to indulge your nostalgia, but dedicating a release entirely to old characters with no more story relevance is not something that the majority of players are interested in. There were a few put in there for nostalgia's sake; a few, like Daretti, for the sake of worldbuilding; and a couple more, like Nahiri and Ob, who are important to the upcoming storyline, whose inclusion is part of the effort to advance Magic's overarcing plot.

    Would Jace care?

A younger Jace wouldn't, and would leave it up to someone else to fix, but Jace has really matured in the current storyline. He felt responsible enough for Garruk's fate to get involved in that plot line. I imagine that knowing he'd helped unleash universe-consuming monstrosities would be incentive enough for him to lend his expertise.

Far more confusing is Liliana and Chandra's involvement. When Wizards said that the 5 walkers in Origins were involved in the upcoming plot line, I took that to mean they were all going to be involved in some capacity in Battle for Zendikar. Assuming I understood correctly (because if I didn't, all this is irrelevant) Chandra has exactly the same reason to be there as Jace, but without the sense of responsibility. Liliana... unless she's looking to interrogate Ob Nixilis on how to regain lost power, I don't understand why she would be involved at all. Confused

Why is Jace there? Did he say he wouldn't get involved too much of anything outside of Ravnica? He also doesn't know about Ugin, Tarkir, Eldrazi or of Gideon. Neither does Tarkir or Ugin know of Jace. Why would they be meeting?

Well, he was partially responsible for their release. Assuming that Gideon was the planeswalker that Jace and Ral were trying to find/conceal on Ravnica, perhaps he has come back to let Jace know how much he done goofed?

Matt Tabak actually gave an newer to this question on his tumblr account, although I'm finding it awkward to find it again just this second.

Basically, the reason they have chosen to work the rules this way is that paying to attack into an Archangel of Tithes is considered to be a form of paying a cost (in the semantic sense, rather than "cost" as it is defined by the rules), and you can never be forced to pay a cost in order to attack. But having to attack with multiple creatures, while functionally similar for the player (you're being made to do a thing you don't especially want to do in order for your guy to attack) is not considered by Wizards to be the same thing.

Whoa, Kytheon's name was mentioned back during Theros? Did we know who he was?

I don't think we were explicitly told at the time, but it seemed unlikely that a name with such similar pronunciation (bearing in mind that "Jura" and "Iora" are pronounced identically in many languages) was just a coincidence.

Is Honored Hierarch perhaps one of the face cards for the Origins Clash Pack? It seems to fit. Green 1 drop, reasonably large amount of text...
