Hey guys! I got back yesterday and had fun playin' around at Laura's house with my siblings.
I had a photoshoot over Thanksgiving! The client actually liked me! W00tage! I've yet to get the end result (picture) from the people as of yet. I'm not sure what they will do to get it to me. Possibly, they will package it or mail it. Hmmmm....
So.. did anyone here saw the movie John Tucker Must Die? I liked it. It was pretty funny, and one particular scene even caused me some.. new emotions (if you've seen the movie you'll know what I'm talking about ;)) well, maybe not 100% emotions, but hey, 50/50 doesn't sound so bad

Okay, so I'm leaving tonight to go meet with a client over Thanksgiving Break to try to jumpstart my modeling career. I won't be on much at all. I highly doubt if at all. I'll be leaving around 10:30 pm. I'm hoping all goes well.

You're taking physics already, FL? How old are you? I'm not taking physics or chemistry. I'm opting for less traditional sciences, ie. oceanography or astronomy. I'd do really bad in physics or chem because I hate math.
Speaking of which, my prob. stat. teacher is gone on maturnity leave and our long-term sub isn't in yet. He's supposed to be here next week, but until then... we have no teacher.
I absolutely hate math as well. I scream at the very thought. I'm stuck at wanting to be a model or architect. Being an architect requires some good amount of knowledge of math, though. If I do become a model, then I'll use architecture as my back bone for when I have to retire.
Well, today was a very bad day. Someone broke into my house, so I'm staying with my aunt in NJ because my parents aren't in the country. I'm missing two days of school because of it. I'M SO MAD!
Well, that's quite a fascinating way to have an interesting day. As much as I don't like school, I'd hate to miss it because I'd have to make-up work.

So, I'm going to be going to seek some modeling work this week during Thanksgiving break. I'm wanting to actually do something other than school and hang out with friends. I actually want to get more into modeling. I'm hoping my interview with my clients will go well and I can take off and start regularly modeling. I've waited awhile for this time to come, because my mom and dad have been a little hesitant to let me since I had many more years of school left. Now I have only a couple more and I'm done! They've agreed to let me check in with the clients over the break, despite the fact that I may miss Thanksgiving dinner. As much as they make me mad, I love them so much. I'm grateful they're letting me do this.
Oooh, I was afraid this was going to happen. She got suspended cause she showed that pic out in the open without spoilers or anything. I didn't get to her soon enough. She should hopefully be back in a few days.
Took my gf, then walked her home when she was done for the night and came back. A rather cute college student came up and hit on me, was very flattering. Apparantly it was her first time to a bar, so I felt pretty bad telling her I had a GF. She was sweet though, apologizing for hitting in me. Hope she had a good night.
And it's quite sad to be told that too. Especially if you think the person is really cute and whatever and then you're told they're taken.......ooooh that's a stab in the heart.
Still, we have surprisingly vicious fights about one another's musical tastes, always initiated by her (because I don't mind her music), but backed by myself because I really don't appreciate her putting down my tastes. She claims she's stating what she calls "facts" as if everyone in the world thinks them to be true. In the beginning I just shrugged it off ("Okay, I understand you don't like that band...") but then it turned out she didn't like any of my music. She would even attack it if I were just playing it on my headphones ("What are you listening to? Sounds lame..."). After realizing this, I worked (andstill work)to conceal and hide my tastes from her, as to avoid her harsh criticism. We don't address the problem anymore because we fight and never come to any solution, we just realize we don't want to break-up anyway-- and yes, it does come to the break-up point nearly every time we fight about music. I recall her saying something like, "Music is a big part of my life, and if we can't agree on music, then we simply can't be together."
We've been together for a year and a half now and we still haven't gotten over this. She's 16 and I'm 18. Any ideas? Some people said wait it out, she'll grow up, but.. it doesn't seem like she'll grow out of this if there's no incentive to. She's just so stubborn.
Well, if it wasn't for that sentence then I'd say to tough it out and let her grow up. But seeing it as a big part of your life causes me to say two words. Drop her. Drop her like yesterday. If music is a big part of both of your lives and you guys can't agree on each other's tastes, then why are you two still together? That's all I have to say. I'm just suggesting, not demanding.
The confidence boost is awesome though I agree. I have a pretty solid level of self esteem to begin with, but a boost is still a good thing.
My confidence is well set. I still sometimes see myself as that ugly kid back in fifth grade who had freaky glasses, but now seeing myself I feel happier. I don't go around telling people not that "I'm so ugly and not beautiful" because that's bullcrap and I know it. I do find myself much more attractive, but still a little not now-and-then, but I really don't care what anyone thinks about how I look anymore. All that matters is what I think and how I see myself.
Okay, so I'm at my dad's girlfriend's house. It's in the country. I don't know the name of the city, but I think there's a town called "Watertown" nearby. I'm not positive. We are in Tennessee,though.
Well, I had a love for Magic and it's art t the time, so I wanted to see if there was a place I could go to to discuss all about it. Through the time period, I have been active in several trades and such, but now I have no one to play with. I still like to go back and look at the beautiful art from time to time, but I have no one to play with. For now, it's used as a little art gallery.
I remember a Discovery channel show about robotics. Robots from various universities and labs from the US were shown, 7 foot robots hopping on one leg, catching a thrown ball, and other feats of agility. They they showed a robot created by Honda... humanoid, a quarter of the size, without external wiring and support structures dribbling a football, playing goalie, and dancing.
Now that is simply astonishing. I'm highly impressed with technology these days. The things they can do with it and the grapphics that come out as its end result.......wow. And as time goes by, technology will only become better.

I don't think it's quite time at all to change the thread title nor create a new thread. When the thread title becomes different (Though the word VOGUE stays since it's the clan's name) the little cath-phrase thing become different. We won't quite change the thread till we get maybe somewhere between 500-1000 posts. That's if activity picks up here. We've been dragging along lately.
You have voiced your ire with how people tend to blindly idolize the Japanese culture before, but you need to consider this-
Japanese culture has a large appeal to many American young people because it's a decidely more liberal culture, at least in context of our own society. Furthermore, it's only human nature to react in such a way towards another culture. Japan is the new France, I think. People have always tended towards admiring the ideal of a certain place or culture, because it is percieved as being fashionable or more progressive. It's by the same token that people tend to idealize big city life and large metropolitan areas- because it is drastically different from their own colloquial culture and experiences.
So I don't think it's a fair statement to say that the Japanese are "taking over." They merely appeal to a wide variety of people because they are similar to us, but also different, and that's not a very good reason to hold it against them or the people that do so, I feel.
And yes, I think it is safe to assume that Asia is quickly becoming a seat of power in our world, and most people who study political science agree that in the next hundred years or so, it can be expected that the title of world superpower will likely be in the hands of an East Asian nation.
"Asia is taking over the world" was more like a figure of speech though they do appeal to many audiences both young and old/older. I do, in fact, see an East Asian Nation beholding the superpower title as well. Asia is just incredibly strong with it's technology and products. Where do our console game systems and games come from????Asia! If I am wrong, please tell me so. I'm 99.9% sure that Asia is responsible for some/maybe most of our advanced technology.
@Tuatha: The color is very different and makes you stand out more, but it can tend to be a little eye-tearing. Softer colors might be better, but the neon pink or violet or whatever is a little eye-ripping. It does look nice though. Still keep it if you want. My eyes will survive.
I used to type is a purple-ish font, but I got too lazy to continuously switch the color to purple and try to change the font. It got annoying.
@Zyrakris: I have yet to behold the title of MTGS Writer nor create any articles. My knowledge of Magic in general is so vague that I'd probably mistake MTG for "my two grannys". I don't think I'd ever create articles for this place since I know so little about it.
Speaking of Poke'mon, I have a few of those games. They were my favorite when I was younger. They're still my favorite to this day. They're such a classic and I like the looks of the different Poke'mon.
Well, have any of you guys played Fatal Frame 3? I have it and so far I think it's great! It's pretty darn freaky to me, though. The ghosts that pop-up scare me quite a bit sometimes. I'm not that far in the game. I'm at like Hour 3 or 4. Her house is really starting to scare me as the game progresses. I never know when I'm going to see a ghost in her house! O.O

On violent video games: I think the biggest issue with them is that they are intended for adults, but played by kids. I don't think that the problem lays with them in as much as it lays with irresponsible parents who aren't paying enough attention to what their children are playing and viewing. Many violent games are rated M- meaning they are only for adults. We wouldn't allow a child to watch pornography or smoke, so I don't see why many parents think it's acceptable to let their younger kids play games like GTA and the like.
Aaaaah, I can definitely see why that would upset you. It is quite true that a lot of the M + rated games are played a lot more by kids. Sometimes I think parents think that the violence games won't get into the mind system and make them act like some of the fools on that tv screen.
The problem is most people are under the ignorant mindset that cartoon/game = for kids. The Japanese do not seem to have this problem. We are getting better.
The Japanese (like other countries) have all different ways of thinking and different laws. Japanese find it ok for people's names to be "Bastard Blader" or "God's Holy Angel". They also think it's ok to have naked people in comic books. Well, things are different here. We don't like the to say the word DOG in a backwards term in vain. Neither would we like nude pics in a comic book. Though this oddly brings up something that will completely protest this this paragraph here. If America doesn't like that stuff then why do they allow the Anime books here (they have nude pics)? Several kids these days are Anime freaks and love to buy these Anime books. True, kids should just mature up and stop poking fun at it, but that doesn't always happen. If all this rave of Japanese stuff conitnues years down the road, we may as well give our whole country to Japan. They basically have control over half the population of our people with only the words "Anime" and "Manga". To make things even better, China basically creates over half of our products. Without Asia, I'm not sure how much this country survives. I love our country, but there's some things that just irk me.
Well anyway, there was a big debate on kid's behaviors at school. These days their behavior is ridiculous. They talk back to teacher's, they throw food, they yell freakin' loud to their friends and call it a normal-toned conversation, and the must groe on the opposite sex and talk about if they want to have sex tonight in their bedroom while their parents are at work. My feelings on all of this was completely mixed as I had my oppinions, yet I agreed with my mom's and my nana's (grandmother) oppinions. I sometimes think they should bring the paddle back and beat a kid in the big behind. It will embarras the heck out of them, yet parents will totally refuse.
Another thing, why is it that when kids get suspended/expelled that they get sent home? That is utterly stupid. If the kid is already doing something bad at school, then they really don't care if they stay at the school or not. They'd much prefer being at home. As one of my teacher's said, us kids these days are used to being spoiled. We have the bus, and textbooks, and lockers so we need to have everything just be right for us. A lot of us these days don't care about our education, though I definitely value mine as it will determine my future (though I like to go out and still have fun). I think a better punishment is working in the school right after school for maybe two hours. They would have to do things like cleans the bathrooms, cafeteria, assist teacher with their loads of papers, etc. Eveything about it is just odd and like "why the heck are they doing that and not this?"

I've went through a change this morning. I have a completely new avie (is going to be tweaked just a lil' more) and my custom is a bit new to reflect my odd humor.
It's great, for the first time ever, I have basically no homework tonight, I'll take a few minutes to print some spanish pictures and I have to draw a parrot for art.

That's always a huge relief when you have practically no homework for the night. Homework is such a drag and takes away from my "fun" time. It's been drilled in my head from my parents that homework comes before others stuff.

I love drawing. I have a sketchbook filled with illustrations that I have. Lately, I've been researching Lee Hammond's secret to the realistic look effect. It's simply genius and amazing. My artwork has improved 12 gajillion percent!! I really need to show you guys sometime. I forgot how to get the pic on my comp. from my sketchbook, though.

Today Milan (Rayne) and I taught his g/f how to play Magic. Normally that's pretty underwhelming, but I taught her so well that she beat milan in her second game
Granted he had only just been getting used to the deck and I coached he along with some of the trickier elements of Magic (tapping at EOT, etc) but I still find it funny how she actually one. Oh, and the kicker is... he's a spike :xd:

Lord, some people are taking this waaay to serious and are argueing about it. Some people are trying to handle the arguements well, though, and I definitely commend them for that. I have definitely gained much respect for the certain member, as they have teached me more to handle my anger or fustration by not cursing so much as well as speaking my mind in a more tactful way (I used to speak my mind freely and it would get me in trouble).

Today parents are crying out that TV, video games, and the media are making their children killers, gang members, strippers or prostitutes- I say that parents are those to point the blame at. If you really think this, take the games away! If you really think this, don't sit them on the couch, don't let the television raise them! Children are a lot of work. If you don't have time in your "busy schedule" to raise them right, then you shouldn't have had children in the first place. And if you say "Well, it was an accident..!", you took a risk and you're all the more foolish for letting it happen.

Aaaaaamen. Think you summed up what I was going to say quite well. With all these parents argueing about it turning their kids into these kinds of people, they simply just sit around expecting for the world to take away all the violence games and come to the door to take their kid's violence games. They simply don't do anything about it most of the time and the kids continue playing it. I say both are to blame. It'll be quite hard getting rid of violence games,though, because they're such a hit (as well as other genres of games) and appeal to more than just young teenagers. We have thousands of adults that will still argue and protest about it.
I'm.. jealous. I wish I were at least a bit outstanding in any of those categories just so I could at least get nominated.
Ahh, it's ok. I don't think it's too important. I voted for no one except two people on two different things simply because they really deserved it. I was going to vote on the "Nicest Member" one, but I had a feeling it'd be blown with arguements (as well as "Best member") and one's starting to grow already. Violence games can get you hooked. I guess they let out your wild and murderous side and let you roam crazy and act like a murderer. Those games amuse, but also annoy me. Games like those are a fraction of the reason why we have murderers,bankrobbers,rapers, etc. That and the fact some people never got spankings when the were little. If I get a violence game, it'll be more like one of those ghost horror kinds based off of a Japanese myth or something (Fatal Frame games). Those peak my interest more despite that they terrify me and could give me nightmares.

Well, I've changed my avie once again. I wanted to go with something with beauty,edge, sex appeal, and fierce-ness. I think this works great, but it looks so far away. I'm getting it worked on in Ye Olde Sig and Avie Shop with some animation added to it as well as it being larger and more up-close. I'm excited to see its end result. My custom title has changed as well. I've made it reflect me a little more, you know, humorous. That's something I'd know I'd say. I'd ask the question "Would you like fries with that?" in a sweet tone and tilt my head sideways with a big-fake grin then imediently repeat "would you?!" in a really loud and irritating tone if they didn't answer soon enough. That's why I wouldn't do good at McDonald's at all.

Aaaaah, I can definitely see why that would upset you. It is quite true that a lot of the M + rated games are played a lot more by kids. Sometimes I think parents think that the violence games won't get into the mind system and make them act like some of the fools on that tv screen.
The Japanese (like other countries) have all different ways of thinking and different laws. Japanese find it ok for people's names to be "Bastard Blader" or "God's Holy Angel". They also think it's ok to have naked people in comic books. Well, things are different here. We don't like the to say the word DOG in a backwards term in vain. Neither would we like nude pics in a comic book. Though this oddly brings up something that will completely protest this this paragraph here. If America doesn't like that stuff then why do they allow the Anime books here (they have nude pics)? Several kids these days are Anime freaks and love to buy these Anime books. True, kids should just mature up and stop poking fun at it, but that doesn't always happen. If all this rave of Japanese stuff conitnues years down the road, we may as well give our whole country to Japan. They basically have control over half the population of our people with only the words "Anime" and "Manga". To make things even better, China basically creates over half of our products. Without Asia, I'm not sure how much this country survives. I love our country, but there's some things that just irk me.
Well anyway, there was a big debate on kid's behaviors at school. These days their behavior is ridiculous. They talk back to teacher's, they throw food, they yell freakin' loud to their friends and call it a normal-toned conversation, and the must groe on the opposite sex and talk about if they want to have sex tonight in their bedroom while their parents are at work. My feelings on all of this was completely mixed as I had my oppinions, yet I agreed with my mom's and my nana's (grandmother) oppinions. I sometimes think they should bring the paddle back and beat a kid in the big behind. It will embarras the heck out of them, yet parents will totally refuse.
Another thing, why is it that when kids get suspended/expelled that they get sent home? That is utterly stupid. If the kid is already doing something bad at school, then they really don't care if they stay at the school or not. They'd much prefer being at home. As one of my teacher's said, us kids these days are used to being spoiled. We have the bus, and textbooks, and lockers so we need to have everything just be right for us. A lot of us these days don't care about our education, though I definitely value mine as it will determine my future (though I like to go out and still have fun). I think a better punishment is working in the school right after school for maybe two hours. They would have to do things like cleans the bathrooms, cafeteria, assist teacher with their loads of papers, etc. Eveything about it is just odd and like "why the heck are they doing that and not this?"
I've went through a change this morning. I have a completely new avie (is going to be tweaked just a lil' more) and my custom is a bit new to reflect my odd humor.

That's always a huge relief when you have practically no homework for the night. Homework is such a drag and takes away from my "fun" time. It's been drilled in my head from my parents that homework comes before others stuff.

I love drawing. I have a sketchbook filled with illustrations that I have. Lately, I've been researching Lee Hammond's secret to the realistic look effect. It's simply genius and amazing. My artwork has improved 12 gajillion percent!! I really need to show you guys sometime. I forgot how to get the pic on my comp. from my sketchbook, though.
Oh my, popularity. Such a long word that means so little. Simply being popular, people think you're so amazing or just want to be around you because they think it'll make them popular.

@cali: True, but I do think a good amount of it is contributed from the parents and the game itself. We all have our own oppinions, though.
Lord, some people are taking this waaay to serious and are argueing about it. Some people are trying to handle the arguements well, though, and I definitely commend them for that. I have definitely gained much respect for the certain member, as they have teached me more to handle my anger or fustration by not cursing so much as well as speaking my mind in a more tactful way (I used to speak my mind freely and it would get me in trouble).

Wow. Try putting that big of an image in a spoiler next time, please. That hurts my eyes with the brightness. The image looks very good so far. I think an angelic looking background such as the heavens or the sky would be a fitting scenery for this piece of work.

Aaaaaamen. Think you summed up what I was going to say quite well. With all these parents argueing about it turning their kids into these kinds of people, they simply just sit around expecting for the world to take away all the violence games and come to the door to take their kid's violence games. They simply don't do anything about it most of the time and the kids continue playing it. I say both are to blame. It'll be quite hard getting rid of violence games,though, because they're such a hit (as well as other genres of games) and appeal to more than just young teenagers. We have thousands of adults that will still argue and protest about it.
Ahh, it's ok. I don't think it's too important. I voted for no one except two people on two different things simply because they really deserved it. I was going to vote on the "Nicest Member" one, but I had a feeling it'd be blown with arguements (as well as "Best member") and one's starting to grow already. I haven't been voted for anything on their. Not a single person even mentioned my name for just voting (not the polls). Oh well, like i said, it doesn't matter too much to me. I am who I am. No matter if that places me in the "Nicest Member" or "worst member" or "Stupidest B*tch".

Oh man. That was pretty funny. I like that little squirelly. What's his name? He's so funny, because he's always trying to get an acorn, but it's like he's destined to never get one. Poor guy, all he wants is some acorns to store for the winter. That was funny though.
Especially the last part where all the acorns and the tree was fake and it happened to be the last tree (as PotN said).
Violence games can get you hooked. I guess they let out your wild and murderous side and let you roam crazy and act like a murderer. Those games amuse, but also annoy me. Games like those are a fraction of the reason why we have murderers,bankrobbers,rapers, etc. That and the fact some people never got spankings when the were little. If I get a violence game, it'll be more like one of those ghost horror kinds based off of a Japanese myth or something (Fatal Frame games). Those peak my interest more despite that they terrify me and could give me nightmares.
