How do you guys board against Czech Pile? I have very limited reps against that matchup and it concerns me. Do you guys leave in Chalices?

One of the things I noticed on Randall Barber's deck list is now more interactive it is with other merfolk builds, with three Dismember and two Vendilion Clique. Also a full playset of gut shot in the side. Has anyone experimented with Clique and/or copter? Maybe the way forward is a deck that interacts more with our opponent, as opposed to filling the board with creatures and getting there on the aggro play.

clique and copter have both been experimented with extensively. The list Nikachu took to GP Vancouver finals in february ran 2 maindeck clique. he also won a PPTQ with 4 copters. both have a place in our toolbox but i'm not convinced clique is good in the current meta. i have tried copters several times and have yet to be impressed by them (except against decks full of sweepers). others like them though.

I haven't been having much success with Copters either (this is after playing with them a LOT) and I've been left very unimpressed so far. It somewhat puzzles me how there are so many successful copter lists.

Hi guys, any experiences against Push yet?

Happy to say not much feels like it has changed for us with that card being printed.

Did you have Chalices in your deck at the time?

I've been having friends tell me Cheerios is all over MTGO. Has anyone encountered it yet?

I like leaving Vials in vs Miracles. It lets you space out playing your creatures and helps in not getting blown out by Terminus as a result.

I've definitely made similar observations. When my opponent knows and understands whats important in that matchup, its a LOT worse for me. Is there any reliable way to counteract this though?

Side Note: Smuggler's Copter to tap all our guys then untap with Wake Thrasher seems interesting :p

More than the body of Clique i value the information we get from it.

Is it time to play with Peek? XD

Why not Gitaxian Probe? Wink Since "apparently" free spells are the thing to do in modern

I'm not terribly concerned with Fatal Push just yet. I think it's going to see play in decks that don't have access to much removal otherwise (so I don't expect BGX's lineup to change, since removal is the last thing they're light on), and it need setup to kill a Master of Waves (and 1-mana kill-a-Lord is nothing we haven't overcome already). We'll see what types of decks it ends up being used in, but for now I'm unconcerned.

Metallic Mimic is interesting to me, but I'm not sure how to incorporate it. I don't like it over Merrow Reejerey, because the static pump effect is more valuable and the Reej enables many more shenanigans. I'll have to sit and think about what card it's better than. In any event, it definitely merits some sort of testing.

I don't know if this is the right assessment: Fatal Push will almost certainly see play in decks that already have removal; they will likely trim on their less flexible/efficient spells. I simply think on top of being really efficient and flexible that it will find its way into BGx and Grixis variants. The "set up" to kill Master of Waves is not difficult: Fetch lands, blocking a token with Snap, etc. are all easy ways to trigger Revolt. 1 Mana Kill a Lord and 1 Mana Kill a Master of Waves is a pretty big difference to be honest.

That said, despite my skepticism I am looking forward to testing Metallic Mimic.

Mimic can save Elementals and works with Vial. It also alleviates the pressure to have colored mana in starting hand.
This is enough for me to take it seriously.

I'm pretty intrigued, but fairly skeptical. The main problem I'm having is you have to have it before you play your guys for it to do anything. We got the short end of the stick for spoilers today (Relative to the jund and grixis people).

Hopefully that Atlazan stuff is real, but Fatal Push does concern me a great deal.

Looks like our Jund and Grixis matchups just got harder: This kills Master of Waves.

Hows your game against BW Tokens ? I went to my friends house last night to pratice, and I was totally crushed

Its very hard to handle with Blossom and Souls plus the Hymn +1/+1 Vigilance and paths running around and Sorin lol

Even with my sideboard its very dificult, because my lucky is very great and I barelly see any side card =( My faith in Merfolk are shatered

This puzzles me. I find BW Tokens to be one of our easiest matchups. Our guys get bigger quicker, they can't handle islandwalk, their clock is slow, and their removal is limited to strictly Path.
