One thing I would like to see is the breadcrumb links on the bottom of the page in addition to the top. I know there is the 'Back to Top' link, but I'm lazy and want fewer click Smile

I also agree that the banners for the Magic Market Index articles (and other ones in that bar) are a little too big.

Finally for spoiler season it would be nice to have cards on the top of the home page like they used to be.

I like Partner, because of it 15 cards gives us 120 different options:
    • 8 for each 4-color combination
    • 8 for each wedge
    • 5 for each shard
    • 3 for each enemy pair (2 solo, 1 partnered)
    • 1 for each allied pair (not partnered)

Including the five 4-color commanders that gives us 125 different possible decks with only 20 cards, that seems like a pretty efficient use of cards. While I'm sure not all of them will be amazing I'm guessing that most will at least be playable.

There's only 7 combinations for each 4-color: 1 combination of 2 allied, 2 combinations of allied + enemy and 4 of enemy + enemy.

You're right, I forgot to take the 4-color commander out of my calculation.

I admit that at first icons would cause a problem, but over time, if the icons are well designed, people will remember what each icon means. Symbols stick in the memory better that words.

So what happens in 5 years when a brand new player picks up a card with a Devoid icon on it and has no idea how the card works? Icons could possibly work for evergreen keywords (though I think that is a bad idea), but there is noway that having them for block mechanics would ever work.

Not really, Rakdos Ragemutt has lifelink and Goblin Deathraiders has trample.

The Ragemutt and Deathraiders have those abilities because they are multicolor, and not hybrid. Multicolor gets abilities that either color can get, hybrid only gets abilities that both get access to. So a card with the weird hybrid cost could get First Strike because both black and red have access to it, and Vigilance because both white and green have access to that. But it could not get Trample because while green and red have access to that, since it is possible to cast the card with just white and black mana that card doesn't get access to it (Lifelink is the same but reverse the colors).

Sorry true, there is mono black creatures with trample and mono red creatures with it too.
Thanks MrThaddeus! Always nice to see people happy about it. I tried making a proxy version of her in edh. At first people were pissed but then they realised she wasn't that powerful cause I had access to almost no mana ramp.

Ok, trample isn't the best example since technically every color can get it on sufficiently large creatures, but green and red are the only ones that regularly get trample on smaller creatures and rarities other than rare. And the point still stands for Lifelink.

It depends on how busy I am when you start getting things done, but as long as real life isn't taking up too much of my time I'd be willing to help.

So I am having a few issues with the deck builder. I was adding a new Commander deck and I accidentally added 2 copies of one card and forgot to add a second card. I went to edit the deck change the quantity of the extra card and added the missing card, but when I try to Save the deck the Save and Save and Exit buttons are both greyed out. How do I actually save the changes to the deck? Also the cards from the most recent Commander decks are showing up as not legal for Commander (I don't know if that is part of the reason it won't let me save or not).

    - is it your personal opinion that (certain) penalties exist to teach players at tournaments, or do you know this as a fact ?

I'm not Cythare, but I can tell you this is a fact.
Quote from Infraction Procedure Guide »

The purpose of a penalty is to educate the player not to make similar mistakes in the future. This is done through
both an explanation of where the rules or policies were violated and a penalty to reinforce the education. Penalties
are also for the deterrence and education of every other player in the event and are also used to track player behavior
    over time.

That's good to hear, I guess I can always cheat and just select only one set and color at a time, which pretty much does what I want until you have time. Having recently gotten engaged I know how much time wedding planning can take (and I still have over a year and a half)

When you are on the Card Search page is there any way to sort the cards other than alphabetically? Since I would really like to be able to sort by collectors number but I don't know if I'm just blind or if it isn't possible. Other than that one thing I am really liking this tool so far, thanks for making it.

What I would build while staying fairly budget would be something like this:

With the additional Mountains you could consider putting {card}Chained to the Rocks[/card] back in. Other good options would be things like Watchwolf, Experiment One, or Soldier of the Pantheon

If you can I would try to upgrade the mana base to look something like this:

Other cards I would look at getting that would be good, but a bit higher budget are:

One chocolate now, or two on Saturday ?

I don't know what chocolate has to do with damage on the stack, but Anteaterking is right, none of those examples have anything to do with damage on the stack. Let's go over each scenario and the possible decisions you can make.

    1) You have a Torch Fiend, they attack with an 8/2 and have 2 artifacts.

    Damage on the stack:
    a) You block, put damage on the stack, then blow up Artifact A
    b) You block, put damage on the stack, then blow up Artifact B

    Damage not on the stack:
    a) You block and trade
    b) You block and before damage blow up Artifact A
    c) You block and before damage blow up Artifact B

Adding additional artifacts doesn't change anything with damage on the stack, it is still always most optimal to block, put damage on the stack and then blow something up. Adding artifacts just adds to the things you can blow up.

    2) You have a Torch Fiend and an 8/8, they are attacking with an 8/2 and they have an artifact somewhere in their hand/deck

    Damage on the stack:
    a) You decide if the potential downside of them playing the artifact and not having removal is worth losing your 8/8 over and block with the creature you decide is most optimal.

    Damage not on the stack
    a) You decide if the potential downside of them playing the artifact and not having removal is worth losing your 8/8 over and block with the creature you decide is most optimal.

This again has nothing to do with damage on the stack and everything to do with if you think the artifact they might play is worth losing your 8/8 over

    3) You have a Torch Fiend and an 8/8, they are attacking with an 8/2 and have 2 artifacts and you don't know which will be more annoying

This is pretty much exactly the same as case 2. You decide weather having the 8/8 or removal for the artifacts is more optimal. If you block with the Fiend goto case 1.
