Urza's Saga did convey the message of planeswalking very well imho.

All the black cards took place on Phyrexia or delt with the Phyrexians and their influence.

All the white cards took place on Serra's realm.

All the green cards took place on ancient Argoth

    Red took place on Shiv

    Blue took place on Tolaria.

All the color's told a story involving Urza.

    Unpopular opinion: Atraxa is overrated

Atraxa is a horrible uninspired keyword soup. It would have been fine with only flying, vigilance and proliferate.

And just as Bolas was about to deliver the fatal blow to the Gatewatch Garruk showed up and wrecked everyone and everything in his path. The End.

Haha, that would be the surprise end. Seriously speaking though, it seems there is no update on Garruk anymore. We don't know if he turned into a demon already or was cured?

They won't be using him anymore since that card was printed wich showed him overpowering Lilliana. This caused such a backlash from the snowflake community that they abruptly stopped Garruk storyline.

They also want Lilly to be redeemable. What she did to Garruk would make her unredeemable. So that was another nail in Garruk's coffin.

They even printed a female version of him to fill his planeswalker niche, namely Vivien Reid.

If Serra is in the set, then the character on the left on the wall from the stream could be Yawgmoth.
    Overhyping in 3, 2...

Maybe not Yawgmoth, but it definatly feels Phyrexian.
    Maybe Croag or Kerrick?

This is great place to print long dead characters from mtgs past now that i think of it. Serra is proof of that and i have a feeling they're really trying to sell this on nostalgia.

I don't get why they don't do reprints of allready modern legal cards. This is the perfect place for fetches and bobs etc.

Now i've gone from ecstatic to amused...

Nah don’t want to pay $12+/booster

So don't reprint cards that are too expensive so we can keep the boosters cheap and watch the expensive cards get even more out of hand?

    Sounds like a bad plan.

    Welcome Lady Serra!

I just wish she could be my commander Frown

Also, the therapist is a cool throwback to cabal therapy in art and effect.

    Love this set allready.

The current crop of planeswalkers are among the blandest characters in all of fantasy. I am hopeful that many of them will die forever.

Agreed. We also don't need a 10th version of Jace, Chandra and Gideon etc.

It's time to get rid of some of these bozos and continue with Karn, Koth, Elspeth and some other lesser represented characters.

Cool. Thanks for the redirect, Alex.

I also appreciate ya'll's lack of condescending. We need more of that on this site!

Oh would you look at that, I've been running Curious Delver for a bit, I had no idea others were giving that combination a try. The most powerful sequences are T1 delver, T2 curious obssession while holding up stubborn denial. Protecting the curious one so that the aura at LEAST replaces itself is KEY. To do this you could stock up on dispels instead, but Stubborn denials are just overall stronger.

My list for curious obsession is Sultai, because Obsession on monkeys is way stronger than on Angler.

Its still very much a prototype, and I just want to say if you face a lot of high cmc creatures then the removal suite has to be adjusted for dismembers or go for the throat. The strategy is very close to grixis delver, except the "queen" piece will draw cards every time she connects. A lot of fun. I listed obsession under "cantrips" because if you play right, that's what it is.

If you're on the obsession plan, might i suggest cutting the Tasigurs for 4 Pteramanders? This way you have 8 one drop flyers who can start drawing you cards from t2.

Pteramander might be a nice addition to the threat suite.

Stubborn Denial is amazing with the Djinn out.

I agree that a miser Vedalken Shackles somewhere in the 75 would be great.

Has anyone tried ravager wurm yet?
It's a hasty finisher, removal and land destruction in one card.
