No, he's still terrible. RRRBB for 4 damage and a 6/6 Flying Trampler is not realistic for any sort of competitive deck.
Wow. Really? Bump in the Night is a Dark Ritual? Are you forgetting that it doesn't ramp at all? Are you forgetting that if you just draw Bump in the Night and not Rakdos you have effectively mulliganed and had you opponent start on 17 life? If I could start at 17 life and always have my opponent's on 6 cards, I'd take that in a heartbeat.
Are you dense? In an aggressive B/R deck, Bump in the Night is still better than Lava Spike without a splice. Many people have died to Lava Spike...
i remember trading my bob's ate gencon just months after ravnica came out at 10ish each :/ so incorrect.
I have played MBA fairly consistently since Mirage, only switching to MBC or MB Midrange/Tempo on occasion...and, even less so, other random decks since. So when I saw Bob, I knew I needed some. I checked pre-release prices on cardkingdom and I a picked up 3 foils for $4 dollars a piece, then I opened a foil and a regular at the prelease and traded for another foil and 2 more regulars. I always had 2 or 3 black decks at a time, lol. Then I opened a box and got another foil. I kept them for years. I have a small binder of foil sets of cards I play--Duress, Sudden Death, Damnation, Terror,etc.--and I had a set of Bobs in there. Recently I hit some hard times and was pleasantly surprised when I made nearly $1000 dollars off of just selling 4 foil bobs and 6 regular ones. I miss the little guy, but I dont play mtg much anymore. Mutilate almost brought me back in to playing FNM, but if BoB comes back I'll be back for sure.
I remember during Odyssey block this was a big deck in pro play, and while I saw it win a bunch of times, I never truly understood what actual strategic advantage it had. Granted you had a bunch of tutors, but why wasn't it better to just play a straight control, aggro or combo deck? I would love to play it outside of casual, I'm just wondering. I used to play it against my friends, but that was just for fun. In tournaments my 'crazy' decks are a lot easier to win with.
Wow I didn't think of him with Sedris, thanks Gaka for that. He could be used in EDH as a one-on-one card. If you play him in Green-Red you could Doubling Season so he comes in with four and makes it easy to his insurrection to come. However if with him or Insurrection he can be awesome depending what is gained from him. Two things: first what would you want him to say and second do you think that he came from the Rakdos guild of Ravinca?
I'm keeping an open mind with Liliana of the Dark Realms. If she was around with Cabal Coffers, she'd be amazing. I'm gonna play around with a few decks and see if I can't abuse her.
And combos well with Misthollow Griffin, for the low, low price of floating 2UU in addition to 6RRR : float blue mana, set the world of fire, bring back Griffin from exile, win on next turn ?
Turn 1, Island, Sol Ring
Turn 2 Mountain, Jhoira of the Ghitu
Turn 3 Suspend Sulfuric Vortex, Suspend Worldflame. Profit
This is going into every one of my green EDH decks ever.
Exactly.
Player A: I'll send 21 damage at Player C and 27 damage at player B.
Player C: Well I can only block 6, I'm dead.
Player B: Chord of Calling for 7. I'll cast Panglacial Wurm. Fetch Elderscale Wurm with Chord. I'll take it all.
Player A: WTF?
I can agree with your points here, and I see why he should probably be dealt with now.
Surprisingly this card has been the answer to so many problems, spanning from EDH, Standard, to my friends Archenemy group I play in, but Topor Orb is the greatest card ever. If any one listens to CommanderCast, Andy was talking about how everyone is playing creatures that act like Sorceries, and Topor Orb just shuts that right off. And though it would counter my Jenara deck, since it's loosely based on enter the battlefield effects, I am going to put a copy into my other decks and see how that rolls along. As far as the argument is concerned though, 1 Topor Orb isn't enough to argue against P. Titan.
I play Shadow of Doubt in almost every deck I have, because I mostly play some combination with Black and Blue. i.e. Thraximundar, Wrexial, Child of Alara and Horde of Notions are my favorite decks to play and they all include Shadow of Doubt. It's incredibly awesome against a Conflux or an Insidious Dreams, too.
I agree with the others, it's far too wordy. The idea you are trying to get through is very cool but I don't think it would make a very intersting card. Also, flavorwise it feels more like some sort of mind tricks, because the hand represents spells that the planeswalker (A.K.A you) haven't cast yet but you are thinking of. It reminds me a lot of Circu, Dimir Lobotomist for some reason.
Yeah, I guess I can see the comparison. I just liked the idea and like assassins, I mashed the two together. I have an assassin tribal EDH deck lol. I hate having to use Thrax when the rest of the deck is monoblack. ;p New version uptop.
It seems too good. For 3 mana you get a 3/2 unblockable, a 0/1 pinger, gut shot and a despise if they don't have removal. In addition you get to despise each turn after that. Even as a mythic it seems too powerful. I think it could be 4 mana and a 4/2. It would be more balanced then.
The pinger goes to the person that lost a card. So if you use it on your opponent, they get the pinger, and everytime you use the ability, they get another one.

Target Stuffy Doll. ;p

Different tribe. Clerics aren't really about First Strike very often.
I use him in my Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind EDH deck. I love baiting people with Trade Secrets. Then, when Trade Secrets is done working its magic. I use can Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded, Contagion Engine Activation and use his -4 to kill that opponent outright. I also love to use it with Prosperity, but I like to go off and kill everyone with Iron Maiden for the slow roll or Molten Psyche for the pain train. I threw all the Red and Blue planeswalkers in there since it's got all the proliferate shenanigans in the deck. Lux Cannon, too!

EDH with Rooftop Storm and sacrifice mechanics. Go go Gadget Grave Pact!
Sac him. Play fetch. Return him. Play him for free. Sac him. Crack fetch. Return him. Play him for free. Seems fun in that style.
