At end of turn, if Spiritbane was put into a graveyard from play, return it to play under its owner's control.

A new torment awaits those who would spend their lives killing for sport- passive patience with a touch of virtue.

    Anybody do Murderous Betrayal yet?

I have issues with thinking about magic decks I am working on during these situations:
    -work
-family time with kids and girlfriend
    -sometimes in my sleep

Somehow Magic always becomes the topic of conversation with my friends in my playgroup, no matter what we are talking about.

(friend 1) ...so I beat it with a stick until it worked again.
(me) What were you talking about?
(friend 2) I have no clue either. So I got a hold of a coupla Wrath of Gods yesterday....

I agree with the art being a little small and that the background is a little distracting. However, I LOVE these!! You have done a GREAT job putting these together!

I may have an idea on how to clean up Reconstruct's text while making it more reasonable to understand and a little more thought provoking on the options it can give, good or bad. Hope you like it...:D

    From this:
Reconstruct N (You may play this, from your graveyard as though it was in your hand. Remove artifact cards in your graveyard from the game with the combined converted mana cost equal to or greater than N).
This will be used with artifacts.

    To this:
Reconstruct N (You may play {this card} from your graveyard. If you do, as an additional cost, remove a number of artifact cards in your graveyard with total converted mana cost equal to or greater than N.)

My suggestion removes the idea that one could play the card for the Reconstruct cost without removing the artifacts by making the removing part of the cost, instead of part of the effect. This puts a stop to fast, early game plays that may impact who wins the game.

It also cleans up the text a bit and makes it easier to understand.

    Enjoy!;)

I have loads of goodness in my bag-of-casual-play-goodies, but one story sticks out the most.

Kamigawa had just gotten Betrayers and with it, Heartless Hidetsugu and the card that doubles all damage dealt by a permanent for one turn.
Anywho, a four player free-for-all turned sour after my brother pulled a quick samurai army, my two friends pulled random creatures, but still outnumbered my grand total of 0.
They were being kind to my manascrew and only scraping at me to spread the damage so noone was picking on any particular person, namely me.
I finally pull my fourth land for Heartless and drop it. I also had the other card in hand. Everyone's life total was even but mine!! ONE. MORE. ROUND.
Two turns later, I was plinked for 1 damage, and, having no way to get a little more off my life to go FTW, I activated Heartless, played the other card, and pulled off a four-way tie.
I was behind, then ahead, then, because of someone's need to have a little 'fun with Timmy', I was the guy that made an hour of play worth squat but a funny story.

In the Magic Universe, TIE-SIS is, in fact, the correct pronunciation, as Aranan pointed out.

In the MTG book, The Thran, Yawgmoth names the disease that infects the city of Halcyon and it's greatest artificer. It also shows the correct way to say it.

I digress on your point between haste and CIPT. I guess I didn't think that through well enough to see the difference.

The card has previewed by now, but I can admit when I am wrong.

    IMHO
Magus of the Disk will NOT come into play tapped. Being a creature without haste is the same as a Nevy coming into play tapped. Giving it haste (in MOST cases) means running red. The original disk player could spend the same amount of mana (blue) to untap it and use it the turn it came into play, whereas a Magus player will pay a red and give him haste. It's the same thing basically and nobody's said anything about abusing a disk with twiddle.

Oh, and my intuition tells me that he will sac for his ability too. Too abusable (in extended and vintage by the time we see him) to just let him go to his own effect only to have Broken Fall or Molting Skin in play. Also hurts if you stack his ability and bounce him to your hand.

PS - Let's also assume he will cost more than has been speculated, making him even less broken.

Ninjas are extended once this is in.

I know this. But there are other formats besides standard.;)

I'm thinking Ninjas here. Sure there aren't many ways to spruce up a Ninja deck (no Ninjas beyond Betrayers) but this guy can swing, survive combat(if they block), and bring back those ninjutsu'd bad-boys while they too can get him back to your hand, for a CHEAP 1U. I'd call that utility.

I think that Majora already made a Saria's Song. Slant

    How's this:

Ganondorf, Dark Lord of Hyrule 4BR
    Legendary Creature - Sorcerer Lord
2R: ~ deals 1 damage to target creature.
2B, T: Destroy target creature that was dealt damage by ~ this turn.
    4/3

I didn't know if you wanted the pleasure of making the Main characters. Also, noone has made Epona's Song yet.
    Well, noone but me..:D

Or how about simply doing this like a magemark?

    Choking Tendrils 1BB
    Enchantment - Aura
    Enchanted creature gets -1/-1.
Glow - Each other enchanted creature that enchanted creature's controller controls gets -1/-1.

This may not be the incarnation you were looking for, but is a little less of a mess for players who are already playing graft-modular-dragon blood-power conduit-saproling-anyothertokengeneratingthingyoucanthinkof deck.

I had actually had the idea to do this back when I found the Java ran program MTG Editor. Almost got off the ground, but never could find the time to get into it. I might have a suggestion:

    4R Epona's Song
    Sorcery- Song
    RARE
As an additional cost to play ~, sacrifice a creature.
Put a creature card from your hand into play that shares a color with the sacrificed creature.
Each note symbolizes the kinship between the caller and the called.

The reasoning for the sacrifice of a creature as part of the cost is that it adds balance and flavor to the card, narrowing it to having already played a creature of that particular color to get its effect. It also allows you to keep the creature where you would otherwise have to sacrifice the creature put into play by this at end of turn.

I would also like to input that Link, in any form (except Dark Link) be GREEN. Magic allows the conflict to be found between any two colors or even the same color. This keeps with the flavor of the game. Maybe a gold W/G Link would even be cool, as he was ORIGINALLY a Hyrulian, though raised from birth as a Kokiri.
