MTG Salvation

I feel like this could have been something from Zendikar. Unlike previous spoiled cards, it neither oozes with flavor or interacts with other cards. Still keeping fingers crossed for good flip cards.

Any thoughts on the Kalitas (Foil) and Sylvan Advocate trade? I know I'm trading modern staples for standard ones, but Emrakul is probably being cut from modern with Eye ban

The value is about the same, but I'm not using Emrakul any more.

There's a shop I live by that I'm really starting to enjoy except when drafting against a particular player who I think is relatively new to the game. I've played against him twice before and we always go to time with me barely winning. In order for our matches to complete, I have to play really fast which isn't really the sort of magic I want to play. Today after going 40 minutes into our first game, I finally asked if he could play a bit faster since we're hitting it really close and he continued to play incredibly slow (on average, his turns took 5-6 minutes). After the first game, I went to a judge and told them the issue and my opponent was pretty pissed but still played slow and we went to time again. I understand it's FNM and a lot of people are there just to play casually, but sitting across the table while I have to wait for my opponent to overthink isn't fun for me either.

How do you guys deal with this sort of situation? Did I overreact? No one else seemed to mind going into a tie game with this guy. I don't want to be "that guy" who drags in a judge, but I also want to have a fun time drafting as well.

Given the recent links in the past few months, I'm going to give these leaks the benefit of the doubt even though it seems weird to do a return to Ravnica after that set was completed and how closely people associate Ravnica with shocklands. Perhaps they'll pull a Zendikar and give us no shocks and just a visit to the plane without any apocalyptic plot.

As for Egyptian themed set, it'll be nice to have a contained set free of planeswalker drama.

I imagine with the news of eternal masters, the prices on all dual lands will spike due to the hype and possibility of people wanting to get into legacy (albeit small). Prices on dual lands have peaked and spiked on Puca Trades already.

For months Show and Tell was sitting in my Puca Trades and before I even had a chance to take it off Puca when I got home, bam! They sold within an hour of eternal masters being sold. I'm a little worried because cards like Stifle and Exploration tanked when they were released as rares and not sure if Show and Tell and other reprinted cards will garner much demand since the mana base used for these cards are way to expensive for the average player.

The eldrazi stuff are hitting modern and a ban will very likely going to hit it hard. Also, depends on the foil siege rhinos.. are they from the duel decks or are they ktk foils?

On a similar note... R/G Tron will likely get hit hard by a ban on Eye of Ugin (from what people have been complaining about) and I might just give it up. Worth selling the Karns, Ugins, and Burnwillows now or is there a possibility they may see growth in the future?

In all honesty, will RG tron go to tier 2 if Eye of Ugin gets banned? I honestly can't think of any replacement that would help us out the way this card does. Doubtful wotc would put eye of ugin to restricted, but I'm hoping they would this once.

As a tron player, losing Eye of Ugin would hurt us a lot and we were pretty good before Gatewatch came. Wizards absolutely hates it, but why not restrict Eye of Ugin to one per deck. It limits the effectiveness and reliability of Eldrazi pulling off free spells turn one and doesn't neuter an established archtype.

Couldn't agree more. He did the entire Ravnica thing, then went to Zendikar and now to Innistrad? Does his planeswalking get frequent miles? I tried contacting Puca Trade, but since they updated that they'd have MTGO cards to trade/receive a year ago, I haven't heard anything since then. Does anyone know when the ETA is that they will be putting these up (as well as foreign cards and cards of varying conditions)?

It's weird that this can't target most goblins since a lot of goblins p/t are equal to each other (Goblin Guide, Goblin Matron, Goblin Ringleader, Goblin Lackey). I hope there are a few interesting goblins to round up this set, but afraid there won't be since it's not "origins-related".

I hope these spoiled elf cards are hints that there are more spoiled goblin cards to come. I doubt Modern will see Goblin Lackey but a subpar version of that would be sweet. Goblin Piledriver has been one of my favorites and loved casting it in legacy; hope there'll be enough goblins to make him monstrous in limited at least.

I was so tired of opening garbage in my past five or so drafts (best pull was a Hurkyl's Recall out of five drafts, two sealeds) in Modern Masters, so I decided to open a box, pull out the valuables and then draft the leftovers with friends.

I was sad that I opened no Spellskites, but I did get:

Not the most amazing box, I know, but it seems decent enough for the price I paid (200 bucks) and I of course, had a ton of fun opening the packs. I know it could have been a lot worse (ie. Tezzeret or Comet Storm as my mythics).
