In response to the post about losing to terminus. Vines, defense, heroic intervention etc do nothing to battle terminus. Defense grid at least makes them do it on their turn, most likely. Sideboard our some of the cards mentioned above and bring in hexproof threats like Thrun so you don’t have to save creatures with spells. Still loses to terminus, but gives another angle for Stompy.
Just wanted to drop in and say I’ve played a large quantity of modern decks in the past 8 months. I’ve always admired what Jund brings to he table with being a well built deck and numerous options in each game. I never tried building it just due to not wanting to shell out the cash. That’s all changed now, I traded my two other decks and bought into Jund. I’m here for the long haul, I’m ready to Jund em out!
There are so many options to try in this deck and I think that is why I love it. I am currently trying two Master Biomancer as it provides some extra strength to all of our creatures and it doesn't die to bolt.
On a side note I've seen some posts indicating that some pilots of this deck are going on a more "control" route. I think it is important to remember that this deck should be considered aggro most of the time. We want to disrupt what we can, but "Plan A" should be beatdown.
Lingering souls is running wild in my meta, I am upping it to 3 Angers in the main for sure. I'm considering Goblin Dark Dwellers in the side instead of Inferno Titan, for this reason. What do you guys use for this matchup?
The idea is to have a bunch of eldrazi scions to sac to trigger ZC and also add counters to Meren. Use the Wayfinders to fill up the graveyard and bring in the big boys for cheap with Meren. I have been having a good time playing with it.
Okay, so I played this once this weekend. I didn't really get a good draw. I never got a Daretti, Scrap Savant or a Tangle wire. I was able to wreck people's boards with Wildfire's and Slagstorm. I was using Worn Powerstone instead of Sol Ring (only because I had them), but I think I might need to switch. It was a little too slow and once I started blowing up lands, I didn't have anything I could do. Although, I think a lot of my problem was not having daretti or tangle wire on the board which really make this deck powerful.
Side note--I got somebody playing elves to scoop before doing anything of importance.
