Have you payed any attention to standard in the past 8 months?
Sword of feast of famine is good against any control deck, the deciding factor in the caw mirror before new phyrexia came out was who could get in a successful hit with sword of feast and famine. The card advantage and tempo swing it creates are back-breaking.
I agree that the sword is good but If I had a choice of my elder getting blocked and dealing no damage or getting through for even 1 trample damage I would take the 1 damage.
This is pretty close to my deck for FNM this past week. SB needs tweaking. I want this at the Richmond 5K this coming weekend. Any help would be appreciated.
Yes I could run a few more Swords and I probably will. However If I ran 2 Sword of Feast and Famine those are crap against Caw Blade. OK so I run 2 Sword of Body and Mind Again not so good against Caw Blade. Both can be blocked all day by any number of creatures. So what about Sword of War and Peace Sure they can't block that one but it's bad against so many other decks. My point is first strike, vigilance, trample, and haste is a real threat against any deck in the format. What is better than a regenerating Thrun with aSword of Vengeance? A 7/4 first strike, vigilance, trample, haste and regen is pretty darn good against any creature I have found. An Elder with 4 forest is almost as good.
My point is no one mirridon sword will work against any deck in the format. First strike, vigilance, trample, and haste does.
What do I change to add more swords? I am thinking maybe Joraga Treespeaker to Birds of Paradise. Maybe Garruk can become sword 3 & 4? He is so good though :(.
I could run 2-3 swords in SB depending on the need.

I have done business with them online and in person at a dealer booth for NC States last year. I am very pleased with there service, so much in fact I will be attending there IQ coming up, a solid 2 hour drive for me.
6-2 with my list at FNM loosing to RDW and Eldrazi Ramp this past week. I win on turns 4 mostly, best draw is turn 3. Lotus Cobra works very well to give you a speedy edge against most decks. Giving it Infect at instant speed with Hand of the Praetors out really surprises most people. It goes from just a 2/1 to a 4/2 infect
I may change my Vines of Vastwood to Giant Growth putting all Vines in SB. I will cut Putrefax down to a 2-3 of when the new set comes out. I want the new black night in here!
After testing I made a few changes and took this list to the 5k in Richmond. I realize part of my SB is missing, I will update later when I have my deck in front of me.
Anyway match up details
Grinders on Friday night
R1: I beat Big Red with Koth and Valakut
R2: I beat R/G Valakut
R3: I lost to Grixis with Sparkmages and twice the counter spells
5K Open
Going off of memory here, I beat Boros, white weenie, and Elves all pretty easy matchups. I lost to U/W Luminarch Ascension. I also tied twice, once to a side boarded Luminarch Ascension and once to Esper Friends. I also lost to a counter heavy U/B Mimic Vat and U/R Control. Overall I was 4-3-2, placed 97th out of 330ish.
Anyway things I would like to fix in the deck, a better early game. Maybe Goblin Guide? I also think it could benefit from Everflowing Chalice.
I don't like the counter version so other than what is listed in main deck and SB I probably won't add anymore.
VS U/W Game 1: I had Sarkhan the Mad, mimic vat, Frost Titan and Abyssal Persecutor out. I had already turned my Sea Gate Oracle into a Dragon. My opponent plays a Baneslayer Angel. On my turn, I use Sarkhan to make his Baneslayer a dragon and put it under my vat. I create a hasty Baneslayer, swing for 22 with my Titan, Persecutor, Baneslayer and dragon token tapping the dragon I gave him with Frost Titan. Then play Jace to pick up my Persecutor.
The deck can do really silly things like the above out of no where. It just needs more of a early game against controlish style decks.
Kinda ignore the manabase, thats just copied from another Grixis deck. I will test and tweak the mana as I have time once the main deck is polished a bit.
This is my take on Grixis, I took my U/B list that has been undefeated since game day until last Friday night. I started loosing to faster aggro decks such as All in Red, and G/B Poison. I realized quickly I needed a board sweeper for weenies before turn 4-5. Pyroclasm is the best answer I could find. Also I found relying on Doom Blade is bad in some match ups. So I added in Lightning Bolt which is better than Disfigure in my opinion.
SBing has me taking out Sea Gate Oracle for the trinket mage package and a better counter spell suite depending on the match up.

Here are some pretty cool outcomes:
Vs Big Red I ended up having Abyssal Persecutor, Sarkhan the Mad and mimic vat out. That's a hasty flying 6/6 every turn that leaves behind a 5/5 Flying Dragon courtesy of Sarkhan the mad.

We have red/blue fetch lands. This would make RDW easier, vamps easier and have late game direct damage.
I think 3 Stoic Rebuttal will be bad for you, maybe mana leaks instead
