Yeah Blessed Alliance is going to be incredibly relevant in this meta. Bant, Abzan, and Naya are getting a big push only because of this, though I wouldn't bet on Abzan since Liliana, the last hope gets pretty weak against vehicles. Perhaps Bant would the best investment since it has access to sylvan advocate, and ceremonious rejection (which would be helpful against emerge decks). Also I think smuggler's copter is going to render cataclysmic gearhulk almost useless.
Ugh I gave in and got 2 Chandras at preorder prices a week ago, I hope it doesn't sink that bad since it didn't see much play at the open, I hate to have to get singles at such expensive prices just because I like to be competitive at game day :/
I'm testing an izzet control list with chandra and turning any mana leak or remand into shock is far more valuable than it seems since those two become dead cards in the long game while doing 2 damage gets more relevant. In my opinion the crucial part is having a significant number of spells which could make use of it's +1 add RR, it's a shame roast seems the better option.
I made the deck thinking in Abzan and Atarka Aggro as potential tier 1 decks, so by TCG Player prices the current list is about 437.78 usd WITHOUT any price push the format popularity might have on some singles like Jace, Vryn's prodigy would experiment -or all the ally fetchlands for that matter. The current standard (deck which is not cheap) that I plan to finish so I can participate next game day is 321.52 usd (again by TCG Player prices). Of course ~400 bucks is still a far cry from the ~1300 my Jeskai Harbinger deck costs, but I can easily see format popularity pushing prices to 600 or 800 bucks. The format could only be accessible for previous standard players who didn't get rid of their staples and honestly I don't see it as replacement for modern save the change of 'rhythm' which is why I like playing standard as bolt and other modern staples make some really nice cards unplayable.
I can't see this format being cheaper than modern, I mean, don't you remember how expensive were the 4 color decks before SOI? Unless you count only as new players those who bought enough standard staples since m15 every deck should be as expensive as the average tier 2 modern deck. Also we definitely would need a starting banlist unless we don't have a problem playing only abzan mirrors.
No no no, I meant using the 2 red mana to play a bedlam the turn chandra comes in, I also don't mean playing chandra the 4 turn and having the 6 sorc or instant in the graveyard.
If you choose to run multiple copies of a spell, Play Pyromancer Ascension, Once those are activated, most games can't be lost if you get more than 1 on the battlefield and active, just find a spot for Manamorphose, because it is copied, which can give insane amounts of mana when paired with the ascension.

That's somewhat meta dependent, the emerge deck will still be around and I think we're getting a variant with eldritch evolution so it's important to see wheter it will fold to w/b control, there's also the vehicles deck and and maybe some form of grixis or rakdos control due unlincensed disintegration. Although it seems that a walkers deck would fold to sumuggler's copter it depends if the deck can stand against the rest of the meta. I doubt we'll get a deck as oppresive as bant company since we have a couple of extra tools to deal with it.
I was previously playing a Temur Dragons list and since most of it will rotate I started thinking whether to move to Abzan or Naya, since I wanted to keep playing green and wanted to play Gisela, the broken blade and company. I mostly decided to build a list in red since Liliana, the last hope is too expensive and if I'm going to spend some bucks Chandra, torch of defiance seems more valuable to me, especially because I play UR in modern and Liliana looks more like a standard staple. This is the list I'm working on:
The only thing I personally don't like is that it doesn't have access to counter spells or discard of any form, hopefully the meta won't be as unforgiving as IMO only collective brutality seems efficient enough and the best counter spell right now is Ceremonious Rejection.
Edit: Also I'm giving Devour in FLames and a third copy of Chandra (I just pre-ordered 2) some thought.
You could just build the deck in a splinter twin like shell and seek to win turn 4 just playing the tempo game, you know, without being to greedy just 4 scepters, 4 dramatic reversal, 4 banefire tons of cantrips and good old snappy plus cryptic command.
I'm not sure if we'll see an (non-land) eternal staple reprinted in standard again, regardless of how innocuous. They seem to have reacted very badly to Thoughtseize/Mutavault in standard. It's a shame.

Lol I just remembered Blessed Alliance is a thing! If you play 2-3 main board vehicles shouldn't be a problem
Wouldn't that be a different archetype? I'm testing chandra, torch of defiance and I'm curious about chaining it into bedlam reveler. Spite of mogis is also very interesting and might be good in the deck.

Just remember that we have 5 manlands and sylvan advocate + pulse of murasa in standard and IMO those plus crucible of worlds would have warped the format :/
Edit: Never mind wrong thread lol
