I use the exact same mana base listed above.... it's pretty much perfect. Don't be skewed by mana destruction decks though. Just hope you dodge that match up.
concerns of mine:
- 2 Mandrills for stubborn Denial
- Sorcery count
- Lands. Idk what the hell to do haha.
Thoughts as a rough draft?
Drop sized charm and a vapor snag. Add 2 more mandrills
Our best sorcerys are sleight of hand and traverse.
Your shock lands can interchange depending on your sideboard requirements
3 islands
1 forest
2 steam vents 1 breeding pool (if your side board has a lot of red)
1 stomping ground
1 wooded foothills
4 Tarns
4 mistys
I only have experience using it with a snapcaster in the deck. Which was the primary target to bolt snap bolt ftw. Your deck might want more but id have a tiny concern with graveyard hate turning off delirium and then you have dead cards.
Traverse is actually a great card. But it's basically only worth playing to fetch up a bomb. We ran it in the sideboard with bedlam revelers but he's ANOTHER creature that requires the graveyard and the hate is just too real.
I think the match ups where we want a potent enough removal spell demands that it be mana efficient and instant speed. We have had access to cards like this for a while flesh // blood and thrash // threat but Sorcery speed means we lose our ability to play tempo and become a really bad mid-range deck. The extra plus 1 counter is nicer but I can't imagine it wins us too many more games where Prey upon would in this spot. And the majority of people here aren't even playing that.
The wait continues....
Holding out hope for Sarkhans accompanying card in the mean time..
Probably sideboard. At very least vs BGx we get blockers and additional sac targets. I'm not practiced in the matchup so I wonder if the go wide strategy typically works vs these kind of decks barring a damnation out of their board.
New domri looks like it could be kinda sweet for us.
I just don't feel like it's a card that puts us over the top.
I like Vivian if we get counter spell as it let's us hold up mana for counters and then we can flash in creatures the way that eternal command deck works. Alternatively, saheeli give us another angle of attack with a go wide strategy.
Don't be discouraged by the losses. The deck takes a little bit to learn PLUS modern is a beast that this deck finds difficult to slay due to its limited resources in our specific colors.
Losing to burn is infinitely frustrating. I feel like it's a deck we should just crush but some how against a good pilot... They just get there. In my opinion, huntmaster is definitely the hardest card to play in the deck. Quite frankly, it's been a Long time since anybody reported winning any games because of it.

You can drop baubles as needed to make room.

But she doesn't die to bolt, push, or path.
Since wars planeswalker aplenty announcement I was hoping Domri or Sarkhan was going to be something we REALLY wanted. Still holding out for Sarkhan.
