    Well..
We could always go back to the EE plan if your lgs starts playing a lot of fish like mine has appeared to.
Setting it 2 seems to be good. Until Kira makes an appearance.. then things get weird..

I don't honestly know what to do. But I feel like it's a matter of getting under their skin FIRST somehow.
I don't know how it affects us in the longer game.. but desperate times call for desperate measures.. I JUST MIGHT try Molten Vortex. It's not like we have ANY traction in this match up anyway. It gives us an answer to deal with things before lords puts things out of range. It can work at instant speed. It helps if Kira resolves... And I don't THINK they sb anything to deal with it.

Just need to be careful not to thought scour it away right?
Gosh but where to find room ...

    So Guys...

How are we going to better our matchup vs fish? or elves?

I find 2x anger and 1x languish isn't even CLOSE to getting me ahead... we need something else.

I got destroyed last night at FNM.

    0-2 To Merfolk
    1-1 To American control
2-0 Vs Super Budget Boros Midrange
    0-2 To Elves

Merfolk. First game had to mulligan to five. At no point did I ever get ahead in either game. Draws weren't going in my favour. Just a disgusting loss.

American spinter twin / control. First game I had good draws vs him not. Got ahead and stayed ahead with counters Game 2. Long drawn out game until he resolves an ojitai. Game 3 We just shook hands with not enough time to even bother starting.

Budget Boros. Guy didn't stand a chance...

Elves. Games went longer than I thought they would but even after Anger of the gods spot removal just cant keep up when they are playing 2-3 dudes a turn.

    I'm super sad.
Game 3. We didn't play because we had 5 minutes

Any premium SCG members want to skim Gerry Thompson's article on Grixis and let us know if there's anything new in there?

He goes over each grixis varient (Delver/Control/Twin)
Say each deck plays rockpaperscissors between themselves as to which is better.
Think control losses to twin. Chapin completely disagrees.
Thinks Magus of the moon should be the card if you're thinking about blood moon or fulminator mage.
Is partial to running Leyline of the Void in both his control and Jund sideboard. Grixis control match up.
Like LSVs idea of a 1 of mulldrifter
Is pretty happy with his inclusion of a 1 of Darkblast.

    His list

    Hey Red.

I think all the grixis decks are good right now. But a misconception is that what is now considered grixis control is really a mid range deck with control elements. the removal is equally potent and the threats are very real. I think the trade offs equal out differing from match up to match up. delvers apply pressure but counters apply tempo. So for every grixis player there is the abilty to build to each individuals play style.

speaking of control. NEED YOUR ADVICE HERE GUYS...
I have yet to see another player besides myself play Kolaghans command at my lgs. That being the case would you guys play shackles? I know at this point they aren't neccasary to win.

Maybe the right mix of sweepers will be the key? sounds like nobody has been upset to draw either damnation or languish yet.

Far // away vs Tribute to hunger ???? I suppose it's not really a two for one but being able to bounce something including our snapcasters seems good.

I like what this card can do more than I like rise // fall

I feel having something to get a player to sacrifice a creature is relevant enough right now.
Truth be told I don't know exactly how it interacts with snapping it back. I've read a bunch of theories but nothing concrete.
So maybe that's something I need to understand before wondering why it isn't a card being speculated.

Or maybe it's just a timing issue.

Hey guys. I'm new to the list. What are the best targets for sowing salt in which match ups? It's primarily for vs Tron right?

    Hey guys..
I have one player in my local meta that plays angel prison and a different one that plays boggles.
What would you say our match up looks like against these decks..?
Also, Is it silly to play a 1 of rain of gore in the side if I know there are a number of soul sisters / abzan midrange / boggles decks in my meta?

    Hi everybody.

Well, I did it. I finally after all these years started playing modern. For the past month I've been piloting soul sisters. Because it is cheap to build. After reading up on my options of what I can play I feel grixis is where I want to be. So I've ordered marks winning list from states.

I look forward to reporting fnms in the near future and discuss changes made.
I know for sure I want to try batterskull mainboard maybe instead of the one of clique. and my sideboard will include 2x rain of gore
1x torper orb and 1x slaughter games
We have several other soul sisters pilots in our shop. And a few combo players. I expect these additions will be good vs my meta.

I'd also like to try out inquisition of kozeliks. Though I'd have to rearrange the mana base and running shackles won't allow for much.

    Cheers.

Tasigur wasn't a main board card because it turns on your opponents removal.

Torrent elemental isn't a control card. But it will be a lot of fun in a whip deck. I'm building a sultai aggro deck to test out next week.

In the mean time...what cards are y'all thinking of to break the mirror match?

I don't think he even knew how well tasigur was going to be.

I wonder if torrent elemental will see any play. It works much better in whip decks but is castable from delve exile as well. Though, no true value of getting other creatures in for damage though. Frown

Holy cow! Sultai control in first place going into top8! #scgdc

Crazy how it last considering the decks massive curve.

    EEEEEEEDIT: IT TOOK FIRST!!!

You're delving is super awkward. You will need to choose one or the other and I recommend keeping your dig through times. I can't see you filling up your graveyard enough for relying on super expensive delve spells, take out cruise and put in jaces ingenuity?

Your graveyard cards are an interesting take I assume you are going that route because you are on the vault plan.
That being said Ashiok can do a lot of work in the u/b control list with the right amount of counter spells.

And with whip decks doing so well right now perhaps some room in the sideboard for tormonds crypt?

There isn't a very good answer in our decks for a knuckleblade or two. Pray you draw well against temur
