Vorinclex easily tops my list for the most fun ending card.
I don't even mind the kicked Rite of Replication on Sylvan's or Reaper Kings. At least that took you two cards and it's not too horrible to get out of unless you were the only target of all of it, but you were bringing some hate somehow if that happens.
Vorinclex is just a one sided swing that's hard for the entire table to do something about even if they all turn against that player. If people don't happen to have removal, it's virtually impossible to search some up before the Vorinclex player gets such a large lead, it doesn't matter if it's killed.
Not a fan of Mindslaver, but generally you see that one coming so I don't mind it.
Sorin and Magister Sphinx are annoying, but not too bad.
Oh lastly, Shaharzad. Luckily, I am the only one who owns one of those around here. I'm kind of glad it's not banned since it can be funny, but no one in their right mind would play one on a regular basis.
Well, it's too bad no one lives near the Fun Factory in Traverse City, MI. Our local store is giving one away to the person who guessed the most cards correct in the set before the spoilers come out. Pretty cool little contest really.
I think I'm actually winning since I called Impulse and Jace (granted I called Jace because i couldn't think of anything past Bloodbraid, but not complaining).
He will sell much lower than the gouging as well. He doesn't go MSRP but it's nothing like the Ebay sellers either.
Someday they will realize people show up for these promos. Considering the Top 8 and participation promos for this Game Day, I don't think I'll bother being there at all unless it's to play EDH. They seriously need to can whoever picks this stuff.
I do wish Wizards would learn that the majority of people really don't like these types of promos and they aren't a good draw. Some people like them, that's fine.
I personally like collecting Shaharzads and I'm sure I'm not the only one who does. That doesn't mean that everyone does.
Whoever keeps coming up with the promos is a brain dead idiot. FNM's are just about as bad. At least lately they got with the program and printed some that are half playable even if they are out of favor at the moment.
Oversized cards are going over about as well as the original oversized 6x9 cards of the late 90's. Not too good. They really should have learned their lesson back then.
I guess it doesn't matter too much, paper airplane time if we can't ditch them on Ebay. Not like it cost us anything, it's just disappointing considering what could have been done.
Where did this idea of tattoos and stickers even come from? Have they given those things out before? To Magic players? I don't remember it happening, but that doesn't mean much because I play mostly online and my memory is for crap.

Yes, they actually have given those out before. I remember seeing the Mirran and Phyrexian temp tattoos for that little "war" they did before New Phyrexia came out. They've had stickers plenty of times. I still have some Ravnica ones along with the refrigerator magnets they did back then also.
Considering the thing is heavy, it's likely it's full of older promos that they needed to clear out.
We don't have anyone who popped one open out of curiosity? I couldn't get my LGS to do it. He likes surprises though.
I'm a huge fan of combo. I love sneaking in spells through counters checking to see which ones scare people enough to fire off a counter. Playing around hate and generally being able to curbstomp anything that isn't prepared is fun as hell in my book.
Problem I have found is the deck is very linear. You don't really do much other than go for that endgame move. I find the challenge fun, but a lot of people find it boring as hell to do the same thing over and over. I can see why the Aggro control decks have a large following. They have a lot more variety of plays and interactions by far.
Bant and Stoneblade are just fun to play over a long period of time. Plus, the added benefit of occasionally getting a new card to work into the mix often makes for some fun deck building also.
Storm rarely gets a new toy. In fact, it usually only seems to receive new cards in the form of hate against it. Hate bears are a common printed item in newer sets. Dark Ascension has one in it spoiled already. Innistrad had one too. It seems every set that comes out has one more way to hate on combo. That can be annoying when you feel like the underdog and Wizards is just out to destroy your deck.
Personally, I think I would go with Maverick right now. It stomps on everyone's favorite pet decks. Stoneblade and Bant cry when they see it. It's getting better and better toys each day it seems. Plus, it's fun as hell to play. It seems like a dumb turn dudes sideways deck, but it has a lot of depth.
Hatred being decent again would be interesting. I used to be so scared of playing against that thing. It just won out of no where a lot of the time so you couldn't let a thing through.
I have a new Legacy deck using Mirror Entity and so far it's been pretty dominating. I've only had a few chances to test it out, but so far it's stomped the crap out of the decks I played against. Uw Stoneblade, Bant, and Reanimator have gone home crying against it so that says a little bit.
Granted, the deck runs only one Entity, but it is a one slot wrecking ball when drawn. I have a few quick token producers that make him pretty insane late game. I'll have to post up the deck once I decide on whether or not it's good enough. Still need to play against the agrro styles like Zoo and Goblins first to decide, though I have high hopes for those.
Well, at least it means you're safe paying $250 for a set of Sorin's now. You won't lose out by them printing another version. People who can't afford it are out of luck though. Go go budget decks.
