Edict is one of those cards that gets better the more a game is already under your control. It's not a win more card, but it's one that can push you over the top. Flashback is always good to see on strong cards, though it is quite expensive.
I still run him. He gets funny looks from some of my less experienced players, but he can still pack a punch. Especially if the other guy lacks any yard presence turn 3.
Dies to most burn, but still has fun utility. If he's not taken care of, he could eventually become a problem. Plus, a 4/2 body is nothing to snuff at.
I just cut Asylum Visitor. There are a lot of these "almost" 2 drops in black that just don't cut it. Pain Seer was who I cut for the visitor. Neither have returned.
Yeah, that's pretty suspicious. Just the kind of person I am, I wouldn't buy something like this online. I would need to make 100% sure it's legit before I make a purchase of a piece of cardboard for anywhere near that amount.
I love Yavi Elder. Such value, many use. Wow. But I can definitely see this guy start to get pushed out as the power creep keeps lurching.
As for me, I think it's my Theros Thoughtseize, partially because the Lorwyn art is so classically good, and partially because the art doesn't depict what is really happening. His thoughts aren't being plucked, he's just getting all smeared by magic.
At it's best it is a win more card. It's expensive, you really don't want to convoke it, does not grant trample, so at best it becomes a bloody siege breaker. It's embarrassingly worse than OG Overrun, despite the GG requirement instead of GGG.
But if this card was an instant, it would actually be pretty great. As a sorcery, it's meh beyond meh.
Yes, that works. When the clone dies, it has the triggered ability of the God so it will trigger. Then, as long as it is still in your graveyard at the end of the turn, it will return to your hand even though it is no longer the God in the graveyard.
The God in the Graveyard sounds like an edgy metal band name.
Back when I first started, I kept rares and cards that were uncommon/common that I wanted to know exactly where they were on hand in them. Boring, bulk stuff I left in a box.
Fast forward a decade or two and now I have a binder for each color, and I still keep rares/mythics and notable uncommon/commons in them.
Ashnod is another sexed up dominatrix that they probably won't make a card for. She's also dead, so there's that, but when did death ever really stop somebody?
I like Jenara because she's so flexible. You don't need to make it any single kind of deck. It can be a force +1/+1 counter deck. It can be a control deck. It can be a voltron deck. She's a jack of all trades commmander.
That said, other commanders probably will cater to select strategies better. Rafiq is godly with voltron.
The Third Path was a splinter group of individuals who didn't want any part in the Brother's War. Siding with Urza was one path, siding with Mishra was another. They, Feldon included, wanted a third path.
The card is pretty great. Always nice to bring back a token version of something that died, especially with ETB shenanigans, or graveyard shenanigans. Shenanigans.
Xantcha could use more justice than Sleeper Agent, and a few other arts. Jaya Ballard deserves true PW treatment, too.
Dark horse good cards for this question (behind Hymn to Tourach) are Ashnod's Altar and Lim-Dûl's Vault.
Psychic Allergy
Invoke Prejudice (especially with the crazy backstory of the artist)
Crucible of Worlds
It That Betrays
Evil Eye of Orms-By-Gore
Chains of Mephistopheles
Necropotence
In the Eye of Chaos
Jovial Evil
Takklemaggot
Special mentions of Dingus Staff, Rabid Wombat and 99% of the Un-cards.

I'd love to see a reprint or functional reprint of Phyrexian Altar.
