This card is actually so good. I'm amazed they printed it a 1 CMC. Any deck that runs G and has even a tiny bit of counter strategy +1/+1 strategy can benefit hugely from it.
I agree with FenrirRex. The PW specific tutor cards have some space to play, and I've seen them do some great stuff, but the rest of them are underwhelming. Tez's Simulacrum is an example of a nice card for the product, but not really a good card in general.
I've been super busy and haven't been able to join the thread, but I do appreciate it. I dno't really talk much on MTG Salvation as much aside from the card of the days for EDH and cube.
Snow Devil is one of those cards that has a lot of flavor in it, but not really that good in terms of function.
I really want the 5 color dragons, as I had been building one already under Scion. Mardu vampires seems interesting, but I'll have to wait and see what's in it before I commit.
Wizards could be neat, but I already have my wizard tribal EDH deck. I have little interest in the cats, to be honest. It might be good, but I'll have to see what's in it before I get any excitement towards it. That commander is pushed, though.
Beast Wars had the Maximals, lead by Optimus Primal, and the Predacons, lead by Megatron.
Yep. Dinobot was the name of a character in Beast Wars, though.
Thanks to the two of you and the others who expanded upon this. I was starting to wonder. So this has nothing at all to do with Beast Wars despite the name 'Dinobot' first appearing there. I can appreciate that.
Making Dinobot a separate creature type from Autobot would be like making Merrow or Leonin or Naga a special creature type over Merfolk/Cat/Snake.
Well, not entirely true. The dinobots were a group in the original Transformer series (1985), lead by Grimlock, pre-dating the Beast Wars (1996) by 11 years. Beast Wars had a character named Dinobot, but he was unrelated to the original dinobots. He also had an episode called "Code of Hero" dedicated to a character study on him, and his death. It's one of the few episodes I clearly remember from watching it way back when.
Patron Wizard is far and away the most hated/dreaded card I have in my mono blue wizards deck, and should be a shoe-in for a reprint in a wizard tribal deck.
It's a very good value card. If you have ways to recur it, it's money. If not, it's just a value card that is a bit undersized for it's cost. But stoic Jens is still good.
While it is undeniably neat with how it skirts around block legality, I'd think that in the majority of situations a fog effect is going to be superior. Though funny stuff happens with an unbound Nightshade Peddler in play.
This vampy is fantastic. Auto exile cripples a lot of strategies in my group, and the Vampire's Crusade effect is just gravy.
About the only 4 mana counters I like playing are Cryptic and Rewind, and rewind isn't really all that great.
It's not bad, but I agree that Mirage Mirror is almost always the better fit, though being cheaper overall could be a selling point.

Of course, it does turn dead cards into zombies, which is fantastic, and also is a 1 drop that works turn 1, and isn't a dead card if played later.
