I love Johannes' art on this! They're descending to war and not making beautiful attractive faces. Love that

So glad wizards or anyone doesn't make any decisions based on the problematic and uneducated opinions of a few MTGS posters, yikes!

Back on topic, super excited about fun-loving Elf Tyvar. King af! So happy there's representation for all the Elves who live in Scandinavia.

Also interesting that the pantheon of gods on Kaldheim, the Skoti, are usurpers. I wonder who the "good guys" are supposed to be... the Skoti, or the Einir (former Elven gods)?

Niko looks cool, and hot elf alert. Was low-key hoping for a degree of separation between Valkyries and Angels allowing a Valkyrie planeswalker. But I guess it makes sense in magic that they're just Angels.

posted a message on Foil Etched?
They do remain flat. Mine have anyway.

They look horrendous however. The video example of Prossh that they first teased looked like the art would remain largely "normal" compared to regular foils, while the border got most of the treatment. But in person, oof. They're grainy, completely washed out, and terrible visibility in most lighting.

Artifact masterpiece foiling remains the best out of the modern foil options imo.

What the crap happened to that packaging?
They had to meet qualifications for leaky sneaky spoiler pics.

Wow, I love the correct Liesa. She interacts with a lot of black and white life shenanigans.

I hate that they made Szat look sooo human. Like yes he had a humanoid upper body, but it's obvious they wanted to appeal to their human-loving statistics.

Well the crossover trend wizards is on has been going for quite a few years now. This was inevitable.

The machine's hunger will never die down. So expect more in the future.

With that said, will definitely make a deal with the capitalist devil for some sweet ridiculous crossover cards down the road.

Abominations indeed. But my hypocritical hands are on my wallet at the ready for something that piques my interest.

    Lol, beren camlost, facts.

Anyway, any guesses on the other 31 bonus commanders from throughout mtg history? Idk but I hope they're all not commander-worthy which seems counterproductive to the set but seeing as they are bonus special cards... because that would rule out a lot of cool old legends that I would love to see that aren't necessarily the best commanders.

posted a message on Wizards cuts ties with artist Terese Nielsen
Man, lots of people showing their true colors now. People against Wizards cutting their ties with her are either people who share the same harmful views that she apparently has, or simply aren't equipped with the emotional intelligence to scrutinize their faves, and subsequently can't handle their faves being scrutinized by anyone else and receiving consequences to match what has been discovered. It's a very childish POV that runs rampant in daily life.

They throw out words (in quotations, much like our current clown in office) that they give so much power to that it completely blocks them from having an actual discourse about actual problems. "cancel culture" "the extreme leftists" "outrage culture." No one even says those things lol, except for the people who say them as a blanket statement to cover up any capability for intelligent examination of the subjects at hand.

Most importantly, her PUBLIC views were ones that agreed with and supported anti-semitic, transphobic, and white supremacist rhetoric. The keyword here is public. Because that's what someone like her is, a leader who has influence. When that influence is used, directly or not, to spread harmful views, the absolute least her employer could do is to end their partnership. And yes, those views, (which no one is arguing that she cannot have, but of course that's what people want to cry about) are harmful. They endanger the lives of people across many different communities. Termination is what she deserves.

It's a no-brainer, (but that explains a lot about... nevermind) if the views and actions of an employee don't match those that the employer embraces and encourages, it's over. The same would happen if Thassa forbid, Wizards was pro-homophobia, pro-racist, pro-white supremacist. They would ax anyone who believes in equality.

It is extremely disappointing that this is the truth, she's my all-time favorite artist for MTG. I have piles of signed cards and art on my walls by her. And I've come to terms with the meaning that those items hold with me are not diminished by this. But I cannot further support her in any fashion until this truth is proven changed.

I applaud wizards for taking a stand against the dangerous rhetoric that she supported. Even now, there are people all over twitter and other social media who are defending the "right" to hate other communities or the "right" to treat others as second-class, who stand in solidarity with antisemitism. There are people defending Noah Bradley, perpetuating the culture of harrassment by men and men in power. It's cringeyyy. And they are OUTRAGED that she was fired, outraged Noah was fired, much like people here are outraged. Who exactly is "outrage culture" about again?

But thankfully, those people, and these people here, are the vocal minority. With every decision of wizards to take their worlds and game more progressive and inclusive, there are floods of support and love for them. Amidst that flood is the vocal minority who are stepping out of the stream to shout at the wind in defense of backwards and harmful views. And guess what direction Wizards and the game is still continuing in? And these hateful individuals continue to give their money to anyway? Wink
