Lol her carefreeness was a total of 2 sentences, at most. It didn't take away from anything. You're reaching. Or have an amplified & forced ambivalence toward the writing.
More power is more power. Dekella (the bident) grants the gods power, as do all the other weapons. So we'll have to wait and see how Kiora can use it. As mentioned, it's not the first time Thassa's butterfingers have lost her the bident, it's been stolen before and a common person used it to destroy a fleet. We've already seen what Elspeth can do with a god-forged weapon.
Kiora might not care about Theros but she did dismiss her creatures and her effort to free Arixmethes from Thassa when Thassa wouldn't stop killing the Tritons.
Oh, VYAzelas, you're obsessed. That explains the..... ire.
Anyway, speaking objectively, I thought both characterizations were done well. So many references to Thassa's temper tantrums throughout the block. It was good to finally see her act on it. Still failed though. If we return to Theros, I wonder what the Tritons will think about a mortal humiliating a god like that.
No clue what Kiora could do with the bident, but it's pretty powerful on it's own as it is.
This was great.
Was I the only one that saw her show some sympathy to Elspeth and Ajani and the Triton's? Pretty despicable what Thassa did to them, but what can you expect from a desperate god.
Kelly Digges always has juicy imagery. And glad she didn't go the flowchart route of X planeswalker saves the day and wins her prize.
I actually read and own the Kamigawa books but missed a lot of the story articles. For a while I thought this article was new. I was like oh Keiga has an egg, cool, maybe we'll return and it will be grown up since she died in the book.
I think it appears in the game trailer too.
Interesting that landscape proportions are used for the planeswalkers this time around.
And the whole Planeswalkers vs Eldrazi setup gives me Invasion block Yawgmoth vs Planeswalkers vibes. Which I support
"utter ignorance." Lol
