That makes sense, since it's hard to run a Magic shop if you're ten miles outside the city. I'm not totally sure about this, but as a person who lives in Iowa, I notice that the majority of city folk vote liberal while the conservatives rule the rural areas during election time. Facts also seem to support this during the presidential elections, where the majority of democratic votes came from the crowded East and West (like LA) coasts. Thus it is probable that local geography might have a small role in the supposed liberal inclinations of the Magic-playing population.
And yeah, Magic players are younger and generally more liberal. To be honest though, I'm sure half the players in my area don't really care either way.
