    Round 1 vs Naya Company:
G1 Coco'd turn 3 into eternal witness + phantasmal image targetting witness, returning collected company and path.

If you got both creatures from the same CoCo you can't copy witness with P. Image. The copied creature has to be in play before the Image comes into play, and in this case both of them come into play at the same time.

Played a 4-round tournament in my LGS this week, went 3-1

Round 1 vs Abzan Company - Won 2x0 (fun is somewhat overrated in mtg, let's just make infinite life ¬¬)
Round 2 vs UB Mill - Won 2x1
    Round 3 vs Jund - Lost 0x2 (Iok -> Bob -> Goyf + Bolt -> Terminate -> G2 -> Mana Screw)
Round 4 vs Grixis Delver - Won 2x0

Does anyone ever played against any sort of UBx mill deck? Archive trap, Glimpse The Unthinkable, main deck Surgical Extraction 0o

It's a really weird match. I was able to combo him on G1, mostly because my opponent didn't know exactly what I was up to.
G2 I had all my deck milled when I fetched for my 5th land, played Reveillark with Viscera Seer in play hoping to sac it and get Redcap + Anafenza on the table, but bounced my Seer in response =/
G3 I had a Voice token in play, a birds of paradise and 3 untapped lands, he tried to Surgically extract my Viscera Seer on his turn... And I had a Rally the Ancestors =D (been playing as a 1of in my SB, mostly trying to improve my matchup against Tron as a surprise element post pyroclasm/O. stone), and that brought back an Anafenza, two Voices and a crapload of creatures, and that made my voice tokens able to swing for lethal the turn after.

Something I realized while playing against blue moon last week: Worship alone may not be guaranteed safety, but paired up with Eidolon of Rethoric, it's even more awesome. A small share of the field can deal with enchantments, and probably their best option is kill everything we have in order to finish the game, and the Eidolon can really help prevent that from happening.

So gonna be picking this up, since at my fav lgs, there is now upwards of 5 g/r tron decks, plus ive always liked infect. Ive seen decks run 1-2 misty and 3-4 wooded foothills. is that a money call, if i have a way to get 3 misty rainforest for cheap, would you run them over foothills. my list will probably once i pull from mtg goldfish till i learn it better

You can run any green fetchlands, as you are always grabbing forests in your deck.

I'm not sure I like Oath of Nissa... I think I'd rather have Sleight of Hand in that spot. Digs one less card deep, but can reach pump and protection. Wall of Roots is a sweet tech that Tyler Hill has been advocating for quite a while.

A lot of people say that Slip Through Space would work nice with Become Immense. Here we see the Boss reducing the number of BI in the deck while including 2 STS and upping MOOK to 4 copies. What do you guys think of this new pump style?

Quick report from GP POA. This is the list I played:

    Round 1 - Affinity - 2x0

G1: My opponent has a slow start, dropping only memnite and signal pest on turn 1. I play T1 Hierarch, T2 Agent, T3 2 x Groundswell =)
G2: I mull to 5. He mulls to 4. I try a T4 kill with kicked vines, but he has a stubborn denial to counter it. A few turns later I nature's claim his mox opal at the end of his turn to shut off galvanic blast and go for the kill with Inkmoth nexus.

    Round 2 - BUG Control - 1x2

G1: Fair game, I ping him two infect a turn with agent while we keep trading resources and I eventually win.
G2: T1 elf, he kills it, and it takes me too long to draw another creature, and his creeping tar pits ran over me.
G3: I open with a Probe, only to see that he has Night of Souls Betrayal in hand. Fortunatelly, I have pierce. Unfortunatelly, he has T1 IoK for the 3rd time in 3 games. I try to race the enchantment, and I would be able to kill him on T4, but on his T3 he plays Serum visions with one mana open and finds disfigure ¬¬

    Round 3 - Fractius - 2x0

G1: I play an Elf on T1 and my opponent just yells "NOOOOOO!". Turn 5 kill with blighted agent.
G2: He does his thing, I do my thing, and it's a T4 or T5 kill with inkmoth nexus. Props to p. needle T1 for vial.

    Round 4 - Grixis Control - 0x2

Won't even bother describing. Bolt snap bolt K. command snap K. command C. Command. Creeping Tar Pit once again my nemesis.

    Round 5 - U/R Twin - 1x2

G1: Grindy game, but I manage to win hiting for 1-2 each turn and holding protection.
G2: Grindy game again, but this time he draws the answers he needs.
G3: Turn 1 Elf - Turn 1 Bolt. Never drew another infect creature, only inkmoth nexus. He had 3 Ancient Grudge + Electrolyze + Snapcaster. Didn't have a chance at all.

After round 5 I dropped in order to play the modern rebound tournament, but i got like 5 minutes late ¬¬

It was really frustrating playing against Grixis Control. How do you guys usually aproach this match up? They have a ton of answers to all of our sttuf =/

I really like this deck, currently i'm testing the Abzan list with CoCo and rally. It can be really explosive, the only problem is if i face Anafenza, the foremost; before side board i have no answers to her exceptFleshbag marauder to which they will sac another creature if they have.

What do you guys suggest against Anafenza.

    Thanks

    Perhaps Radiant Purge

I would say Murderous Cut. Maybe Bone Splinters.

Went 3-1 with Abzan Rally at FNM. My only loss was to Esper control where I drew 12 lands and 4 spells game 1 and got two of my cutthroats exiled game 3 and never found a third one.

I quite like this list, Rally The Ancestors can provide pretty explosive plays! But don't you think that there are just too few sac outlets/win conditions? It's a little too dependant on Nantuko Husk

Has anyone considered adding an overgrown tomb and completely replacing the Wild defiance + distortion strike for plague stinger? I feel like having another infect creature would help so much against the matchups with heavy creature removal and this wouldnt hurt the mana base.

I have. Besides having another infect creature, playing black also enables you to have Abrupt Decay on your SB, which I believe is better than lots of copies of nature's claim and twisted image. Unfortunatelly, I ended up losing a couple of matches with too many creatures and no pumps. I'll try now playing with only 3 Stingers instead of 4 as I had, maybe with a Wild Defiance back MD.

Is it just me or has infect been falling out of favor lately? My assumption is because we only run 8 infect creatures (12 with inkmoth) and with all the cheap removal in modern, infect loses its creatures too often. I run 2 apostles and 4 vines and its still not enough to protect my guys. Im thinking of splashing black and throw in some plague stinger. Thoughts?

What would you be taking out to put in Plague Stinger? It would be subject to the same cheap removal spells for the most part as well. Maybe we need to start about thinking of how to make our creatures immune to removal spells. Stuff like Hexproof. Just a thought. I really don't feel like splashing a third color but it could open up opportunities.

I'm playing a BUG version with 3-4 Plague Stingers now. I took out WIld Defiance and Distortion Strike. Not a fan of d. strike, and, once we have a greater number of evasive guys, we don't have that much of a need to make them unblockable. Also, once we have more infect creatures, it's more likely that we will have one guy to replace another that was killed, so we can play fewer Spellskites MD.

I only have 1 Spellskite MD and 2 SB now, and I'm really enjoying this version.

Hey guys! First time posting in this thread =)

I just finished my infect deck and played a couple of small tournaments with it. I'm having a really hard time dealing with Grixis Delver and Jund.

How the heck are we supposed to behave in matches like those? Should we try to be as fast as possible and finish the game, or play a more conservative game? I can't seem to find the optimal way to deal, they always have thousands of kills in hand among terminates, bolts, k. commands and stuff.

Also, could anyone share his sideboard plans for those matchups?

    Thanks in advance!

I like that list a lot, I will have to test it. I don't think I like the meddling mage but I am not sure what matchup it is for. It is also a lot more blue dependent for its cantrips. Do we know if it is the same 75 across all the lists?

BDM said that Huey Jensen told Duke's list has two different cards.

I'm also playing with 2 Arbor Elves (I do not own any noble hierarchs, nor am I interested in trading a kidnee for a set of those), alongside with a Wind Zendikon (thinking of dropping it) and a Fatesticher.

    They do work fine.

    12?

I don't know either, but something I culled from an articel a while back had for constructed decks:
    14 sources for C
    18 for CC
    21 for CCC
    24 for CCCC

I don't see how you can possibly splash BB into a GR deck.

I think if you really really want to run Whip of Erebos then you need to switch to BG.

I believe these numbers are correct, but they represent the amount of mana sources of a given color you need to have X mana of that color by the Xth turn. That why mono blue devotion needed that many islands, to make sure you would be able to drop nightveil specter on your 3rd turn.

In this case, we do not necessarily need whip to be on table on the 4th turn, so, 18 sources is too much. I'm not saying I like the idea of splashing a 3rd color in Gr devotion, I'm just saying it wouldn't demand all that much that was mentioned here hahaha
