Also my advice would be to avoid something that qualifies as "just a big beater" or "just ETB" it makes your game plan more versatile. Examples would be something like Bloodcrazed Neonate or Archaeomancer
Some ETB effects are too good to pass up I'm just saying don't get caught up in them. Haste effects are great. Good luck!
My Marchesa, the black rose is more Grixis agro, so my CMC is pretty low. All my sac outlets are free. I look for aggressive creatures that are low CMC that are more than just "beat sticks". Think Fulminator mage or Baleful strix. To keep efficiency I play with high impact low cmc spells like Malicious affliction and Dismember and Stubborn denial. That's why I would like to test this.

Coming from an EDH standpoint I hope Jace and Nissa and Lili are complete failures in standard so I can pick up their foils for cheap! In edh they will be immediately added, Jace to myTasigur, the golden fangdeck which is self mill anyway. Nissa to my Karametra, god of harvests deck cause lands matter. And finally Lili is gonna be so saucy in my Marchesa, the Black Rose deck....... And in my Anafenza, the foremost discard/exile deck.

Gideon is the best because he's aggressively costed and while his flipside isn't back breaking, its enough to stall the field for a few turns which may turn out to be impactful in Standard.
Fulminator Mage
Goblin Flectomancer
Grim Haruspex
Baleful Strix
Legion Loyalist
There ya go.
