2) adding may to the switch and simply giving it shroud fixes nearly every problem that would be had with the turtle. also, this is COMMON.. it will not change the universe
3) here is my stupid guess
Convertible Turtle - UUU
Shroud
Landfall - Whenever a land comes into play under your control you may chose one ~THIS~ Becomes 0/5, and gains Flying and Defender till your next turn; or ~This~ becomes 4/1 and gains First Strike until your next turn
1/4
it is hoping to much, but something that can play offense or defense without needing a fetch on their turn would be great
final speculation; flash lands.. i doubt it.. but it could happen with like lose 2 life and EtBT and they only produce 1 color, or even colorless
Do the new ZEN common non-basics Kabira Crossroads and others warrant an inclusion if room can be found? I'm asking because of adding the Map. I would count Desert instead of the Piranha Marsh and add the other 4.
Just so I can beat a dead horse permanantly; There is absolutely no way outside of haste being granted to Waylay created knight tokens that they can attack?
I ask because I read the current oracle text using cleanup step phrasing. And I want (but doubt I can) to use it the way White Lightning did.
Master of Etherium had the foiland is still coin. But overall agree it won't jump too high. It is nice to hose a $25 card with a $3 vampire... it might just be White vs Black finisher too.. whichever color you are in... you play that one
I posted a comment on each review.. I think the site has potential.. but it does come off as whinning or "*****ing".. also.. cursing in a review... not a great idea
There probably need either history or result based to back up a few calls.
Oran-Rief I believe will catch the most flak as a "wrong" call. You could've argued, "Noone played Novijen, Heart of Progeress; so this isn't much better".. instead it came off as a rant.
And as I said on the site.. Oran-Rief + Finks is something pros who are payed to talk about magic are talking about.. that doesn't lend much credance to an agrument w/o referances to why the decision was made
Last critisism; if something is made for limited, atleast say that is its only use.. Snare is designed to hose a block mechanic
I would like to mention Cobra Trap vs Wasteland effects that run around older formats... possibly extended which may run Ghost Quater to handle Dark Depths
Break out card... no.. mentionable though
Magosi at $2 is a solid pick as Blue Stax-like decks are finge and may go through a reinvention.
Malakar Bloodwitch is being examined to take on Baneslayer and Path... I think they are right!
And anyone who uses Trapmaker's Snare like a modern Mystical Teachings gets love from me
My official Sleeper Award goes to the Shrine.. it may be the turn 2 mono red needs with Ball Lightnings at turn 3 and 4
EDIT:
~Further Mention~
Quest for Ancient Secrets in Time Walk Decks/Howling Mine (it shuffles itself, never done b4 on a Cane-effect)
Quest for the Gravelord in MBC or something similar
splashable quests (read:all) make them good enough considerations in the new manabase t2
Emeria Angel is on my personal top 10 "best cards of ZEN" list, but so was Galepowder Mage for LOR. I never understood why that 3/3 flier for 4 never caught on.
"Four-mana creatures that die to Lightning Bolt and don't do anything when they come into play seem like a bad choice these days. This card is fun and powerful for casual, though, and I'm sure you can reliably pick up a play set if you ever want them for your casual decks." - Jacob Van Lunen today's BoaB
I agree that bolt defines how successful a creature is. Nameless was the bolt 2 years ago, and so was Shriekmaw (and terror). Agony Warp also counts, but less so. Just so I cover my bases, Terminate is good.. but Warp can be 2-for-1, Bolt can be aimed at players...
My point simply is, for one more mana, here is "Baneslayer, the devourer of games". I think the Angel is amazing (emeria), however... it has stiff competition. If anyone plays it, I see control.. but they have Baneslayer also.
How should one define/ describe a hall-of-fame card (a card that will have an impact and be remembered for years)? Are there any such cards (potentially) in Zendikar?
Weigh your words carefully on this one, guys!
\ Mr. Viking /
Well, lay down criteria?!?!?!
If a card fits any of the criteria, I'd put it on a MVP list
1)Played in atleast 60% of top 8 decks in standard
2) Made its way into Vintage/Legacy, and remained there (barring banning); and not "just because"
3) Created a new deck type (See: Revelark)
Now look at ZEN...
--------------
Eternity Vessel... Maybe.
Here is reasoning: I can see Vintage looking at it, like they did Lich's Mirror; then trying to break it, realize they need too much effort and dismiss it
--------------
Iona.. IN!!!
Oath/Reanimator will play it. This follows on the heels of Shards of Fatties (Overlord, Inkwell, Progenitus, etc)
--------------
Day of Judgement.. Not a fair call
They took away Wrath, here is its replacement.. it was a shoe in!
--------------
Fetches.. IN
Not hall of Fame, but they are the other "Shoe In" set of cards
--------------
Bloodghast.. Maybe
Here is another arguement; It could be a new type of Dredge, or it could be a back burner.
There is Ichorid, Dredge, and Bridges... there could be a 4th type (yes true Ichorid hasn't been seen in a while, nor has Dredge unless you count Dawn of the Dead [Vintage Deck that has a legacy version])
--------------
Vampire Hexmage w/ Dark Depths.. YES!!
This new guy allows there to be a former budget card to escalate to $10+ on some places... I think he had an impact
--------------
Magnosi, the Waterveil... probably not
I only mention it because I will be playing this in a bad vintage deck for an underpowered meta and the deck uses Remora
--------------
Lotus Cobra... Time will tell
I don't get how it is so important, but some pros believe in it.. so this is a watch and wait for me.. I am not buying into it.. probably a mistake but I don't get it
--------------
~Special Mention~
Malakar Bloodwitch - Fights Baneslayer
Sphinx of Lost Truths - Replacement in certain Dredge builds
Spell Pierce - Vintage
Archive Trap - Pushing Sanity Grinding in legal formats
I like the set, but I'm done with it. I'll buy singles, I don't need to waste money on flak.
I saw the art for Quest to Nowhere and immediately thought of AWOL.
Also the new Cancel makes me giggle (something to the effect of "Look.. I know what you are thinking; but let me explain..") (or even "Marty... something has to be done about your kids...")
PLease feel free to list any other cues that anyone else sees

I also wonder how the multitude of BB beaters does in a table of 2+ ppl trying to do the same B/x style

They said no Douse in Jace-Chandra
Casual.. better than Serra in an equipment deck.. otherwise... Serra

also, I cut Thornweald Archer for Recluse
