Oh I know THAT feeling (needing any job at this point) its not a pleasant feeling.. :p Good luck to everyone looking for jobs, which includes me at this point... Monday was my first day unemployed... Not looking forward to the search... i'm waiting on 2 potential sorta interviews... They still havent gotten back to me about WHEN they want me to come in... while it's with the same University i used to work for, I'd prefer to work for them, due to benefits and finances, but at the same time if it's taking them this long to get back to me about WHEN they want me to interview, it might end up being the same bureaucratical crap I had to deal with in my last job, which I really don't want to deal with. So yesterday I had an interview and I didn't get the job solely because i don't have a driver's license... how FRUSTRATING is that.... Granted it's only a part time job, but still..... so I'm determined to get my permit at some point tomorrow hopefully, since today is a holiday... I also want to call unemployment and see if I can talk to a specialist, and also do some writing.. ugh...

EDIT: Oh and congrats on the 1500th post by Pet Snake! Cookie Smile

Oh I read Twilight and New Moon.. New Moon was great on the plane ride to Oregon cuz it was long enough and kept me entertained (from Rochester, NY ) Grin

EDIT: A friend of mine once described the Twilight series as "good beach reads" and I would agree Smile I haven't read Eclipse or Breaking Dawn yet...

Oh believe me, I like to procrastinate too!

So, I have two story options in my head at this point.. The first I've had for a long time, the second, I just came up with yesterday.. trying to figure out which approach to take, because I like both stories very much, but I don't really have a lot of character development for the first story, though i have an enormous plot established.. The thing is I've written about 5,200 words on it already (that's about 11-12 pages) when I was working on it last year on my own time (not during NaNoWriMo) so it technically wouldn't be new... but it's such a good idea... but at the same time, I like the idea of starting with a clean slate.. I have this other idea where i have a cool character set up, with potential for ghosts, fantasy, and it'd be fun to write... but I still need to really develop what exactly will happen.. I feel stuck :p Help?

I don't think so.. you can plan ahead as much as you want, mechanics, storyline, character development, just don't do any actual writing of the novel yet.

I just now got around to watching the film version of Twilight.. it was interesting.. Well, here I am at work, and right now I'm focusing on dong NaNoWriMo this year, starting next week... I have two ideas for a book... one is kind of vague right now, but the other has been fleshed out over the course of several years... part of me is tempted to write that one, but I don't have any character development, though a strong plotline has been created... The other story, I have a character and plotline created though it's a little weak, I'm trying to think of ways to strengthen it.... what actually happens, for instance..

Been reading "No Plot? No Problem!" and some of my other writing books... I started Redemption of Althalus but I'm getting distracted from reading recreationally, by the idea of doing my novel...

Exactly!! That's the trick of it all.. I mean, it's interesting... I'm reading the handbook and they provide a "time finder tool" - which basically is, you write down everything you do in one day, when the day's over, and then after doing a week of this, you sit down and highlight things as "Required" (red, because your life/well-being/health would fall apart if you didn't- this includes work), "Highly Desired" (blue - for stuff you could give up if you really had to, but that you would prefer not to... going to dinner with friends, watching the Sunday night football game, etc), and "Forgo-able" (yellow , and these are activities that you could easily say goodbye to for a month, knowing that they'll be back when you resurface- for instance, going on MTGS (i know, i know), going on Facebook, obsessively checking email) and basically if you can cut out 1 1/2-2 hours a day from your schedule simply from the "forgo-able" activities- you're golden.. prepare to say sayonara to that stuff for a month, and use that time that is no longer there, with writing. If you write about 1500 words a night, barring the occasional slip, or slide, you'll make 50,000 in a month. And , don't slide more than one or two nights in a row.. if it hits 3 or 4 or more, you're in deep **** :p

Anyway, that's my input from the book I'm reading.... Do you have any ideas for your book?

I'll check in here later, gotta get some sleep now. Smile

Congrats on the anniversary to Josh and Josh!! Grin I just got back from a bone-wearying event for work, and I'm back in the office, trying to get some work done before Brad gets out of work tonight, around 6pm (it's almost 5:30 now) and I've got an early morning meeting, so I'm trying to get the agenda together for that, then it'll be making 10 copies of said agenda... plus whatever papers i need to attach to it... I think i have like 4 documents to attach... lol.

Anyway, I should get on that.. hey is anyone doing NaNoWriMo this year?? I'm thinking I'm gonna give it a shot, I'm excited!! I think I might start The Yearbook over again, even though I've written a good number of pages already, I lost the file somewhere on Brad's laptop and the one on my computer is outdated, so I might as well start over... Anybody remember my book idea, the Yearbook? Or do I need to re-synopsize it? :p If I do, no worries, just lmk! Or I could go for an entirely different concept... what kind though, I don't know. :p
