Whatever dude. You can't just say something is right or wrong without supporting evidence. So I could be wrong on all fronts but you haven't proven otherwise. Nothing I said was absurd

You say you don't 100% agree or disagree - and that's fine. I just don't see what the point of any of your posts was (especially ur 1st one) besides to troll me and talk about my life & disagree with no proof behind it.

Well, prove your point - I'm still waiting. Everything I said was valid - if even barely. Ur the one talking about my life and ignoring me, & the semantics of Edric Aggro.

How is my argument flawed? With less life decks will become more streamlined to compete strongly in the 1st 4 turns. Which in turn will push out higher casting cost commanders and mid-priced spells. Combo doesn't have the consistency to compete in a singleton format
Nor will it have the time. 25 life would have been okay, especially since most decks drop fetchlands and shocklands.

You keep raising the "nuh unh" defense. Now you wanna ban me because you have no rebuttal??? Ignoring is a loss for you - because even though in the Mtg Salvation bubble you live in, u think its okay. Most don't agree with the change.

For sure efficiency. I would Say recall and bolt are efficient cards. Edric and Marath & Titania are efficient because you have 100% consistency during a game. Most people get lost on this part. Only in EDH do you have 100% access to a card. Those Aggro commanders are good because they are in the command zone - luck of the draw is not required to play them. Yes they are good on their own too.

    I never apologize....cuz I'm never wrong.

If Edric was so good...why is he not in other formats?? Lightning bolt is, and brainstorm, and true name. No- he was a cheap card that you could throw down with 99% consistency on T2, sorry to break it to you buddy, but ur not good at Magic. Sell your cards. Next time take home the crayons and placemat from the diner, so you can keep busy while the adults play magic

I proved my point(s). whether you believe Aggro is easier to pilot or not is irrelevant. The Duel Commander format needed to be slowed down and sideboard IMO

Titania, Jenara, and Geist are Aggro decks, and they clean up, along with the banned Marath - so ur argument about Aggro decks not performing at a high standard is debunked. I don't use buzz words such as "straw man argument" to make a point... Just facts.

Edric was banned for his simplicity and highly aggressive nature - whether you feel Aggro is brainless or not in subjective. I usually look at both sides of an argument then choose objectively which side has the batter stance, but my mind is still open to new information if it's strong.

I used try hards because with the life total starting at 20, it will push most commanders of 4 or greater outside of top tier range. So now the game is going to be dictated with board positions in the 1st couple of turns. THIS IS HYPER AGGRESSIVE. Nothing wrong with playing the best decks....but I'd like the game to be decided around T5-9, not 1-4. Now opening hands are more important, and you can't climb back into games from missed drops or mulligans and such. If you want to be in a format like this, Legacy and Vintage are available. All the Decks in those formats can explode, have checks and balances, and have sideboards for certain marchups. Most importantly they have redundancy, which gives decks a chance to complete its strategy by upping the %. EDH you just get what you get - and some cards are unique, and have no other card similar.

Lol dude...you don't even know me...especially from just 500 words or so. I'd be offended but, I'll write it off as another Magic player suffering from Aspergers

I actually play & love midrange. Not elitist at all, just miss magic being a strategy game instead of an arms race.

Just to rebute, I think playing control does require more brainpower & patience. I've won many many games because my opponent lost concentration and made a mistake or less than optimal play. Same happens with the abundance errors (ur winning by so much, and have so much board presence you don't know what to do). I will usually put a limit to counters in my deck as well....because countering everything takes no skill either.

Aggro is very easy to play - at the time Edric was dominating a <retarded> monkey could pilot a less than optimal build to the top.I hate when Aggro players give themselves credit for basically playing cards that play themselves. - It's good & Brainless.

Dude your post was spot on. This is why I think the format is dead. There will be less room for creativity and experimenting, because every card in your deck will have to carry it's weight, and no room for error. OH I can hear all the hyper aggressive try hard players already sleeving up the cheapest and powerful goodstuff cards. Duel Commander will just be Tiny Leaders....with 99 card intead.

Sideboards are needed. Just like in any format you need some sort of silver bullet to even out in bad matchups. It's only fair. It will also make decks more robust as they will have to have multiple paths to victory, not just one.

I play Surrak twin, and here is my sideboard

    CONTROL
    Red Elemental blast
    pyroblast
    Teferi
    Counter flux
    Double Negative(M.wander)

    GY strategies
    Tormods crypt
    Loaming Shaman

    Elf based
    Cursed totem
    Submerge
    Dream Tides

    Aggro
    Chain lightning
    Anger of the gods
    Shattering Spree
    Bribery
    Breath of Darigaaz

I don't think sideboards would hurt as you still have to find the singleton card. You don't have to dilute you main deck with answers. 1st game you implement your strategy. 2nd and 3rd game you adjust to the matchup

Omg - if your opponent got all of that off, you suck at Magic, you double suck if you're playing BUG and didn't rip those cards from his hand or counter them.

I played the deck, it is a monster. Even if they have a semi-strong board state, the wheels get you more answers - not to mention the graveyard hate the wheels provide.

EDH can never be like any other format because you have 100% access to a card, your commander. No format are you guaranteed any card

"If Cmc=1 or less, the card can't produce mana, or put a land into play"

    Blood Pet
    Chrome mox
    Mox Diamond
    Tinder wall
    Rite of Flame
    Dark Ritual
    Wild Growth
    Jeweled Amulet
    Exploration
    Etc....

I totally understand not wanting to turn the format into standard. But the speed needs to come down, because it's choking the diversity out of the format. U may think that counter magic will rule everything, but discard, discard creatures, and now monarchy, can hold its own. There are so many cards that could be used in this format both as silver bullet hosers and sound strategies.

The main point I was trying to get across is that mana dorks speed up the game, and turn good cards into busted cards. I loved playing against Marath & Animar. But after a while I saw the only way to keep up was to make 1/3 of my deck mana dorks. Or fill my deck full of sweepers (which were blank draws against control, since ya know this format doesn't have a sideboard either haha, which it should) Edric warped the format, you literally had to build your deck to match the speed. He'd be nowhere near as good if he had to come out on T3, since there are a ton of responses and sweepers online by that time.

I don't think this community understands the concept of virtual card advantage in a singleton format. Coupled with the 100% consistency of a single card (your commander)
Taking out elves/rocks of 1 or less is the only way to have lateral balance.

Keep complaining about bans of your favorite cards when the real answer is right in front of you.

@ JuvanMukta - ur using the "nuh unh" defense
You haven't said why it would be a bad idea.

"If Cmc=1 or less, the card can't produce mana, or put a land into play"

Seems easy. I'd rather have the elves gone with access to almost every commander. The field would be so diverse.

I've played games using wall of roots, werebear, and other 2 drop dorks. As well as faced my friends Sidisi deck with no 1drop elves, and An Olivia deck. Games were longer, see-sawed back and forth and were strategy reliant.

why should tabernacle and humility be banned in an elf heavy Meta??

I really don't understand how countermagic is the same as pushing the turn forward. No matter how many counters you have, The commander provides 100% consistency.

Well on Leovold - time will tell. I'm using 4 wheels & bring to light. I wouldn't say rely on the wheels, but getting the lock once every match is good (33%)

Time will tell on Queen Marchesa also, I think she will do ok. But mana dorks do help steal monarchy as well as further your board position.

How is the format competitive when you either have to play elves or counter? You sound like a pompous fool. There is no midrange, and every tier commander gets banned because the mana dorks allow for early entries. Gaea's cradle was awesome and I don't think it was overpowered - but 2 mana dorks and a crop rotation and BOOM goes the table.

There is no competition without balance. No track runner gets a head start. Most people think using mana dorks is a strategy - but it isn't, unlike Moxes - not every color gets to use them

Tasigur was filled with sweepers and thus was the antithesis of mana dorks. Every slot that is dedicated toward sweepers is virtual card disadvantage against control ie Keranos.

Maelstrom wanderer proves the point - you don't need mana dorks of CMC = 1 to win.
Ur wrong, the commander doesn't win you the game, it's access to resources. Don't get me wrong the Commander is a Major cog - but it's all about who can get their resources 1st and stabilize

I mean if you play Leovold on T2, and Timetwister T3 - what can your opponent do besides counter??? If spot removal is used on him, ur opponent is -2.
