There was a time where I would try to think of building decks based on "rogue" (not the creature type) cards but most of the time those decks didn't go very far.*shrug*
As long as it's fun right? And if you win, then all the better it feels. For awhile anyway. heh

Jan 18, 2008Redington posted a message on Decks for Critique namesI guess I could kinda get where you're coming from. But I mean; whatever floats their boat, I guess. Some names are annoying though. But I guess names of my decks (well, the rare time that I'll post a decklist) don't really have any creativity to their names.Posted in: ShinyFirefly Blog

Jan 14, 2008Redington posted a message on Magic CorosseoHow could that be a promo of a card that isn't out yet? It had the DCI markings on it, so I can't be a pre-release promo. Maybe it's a fake? I don't know if this was already discussed in the rumor mill or not but I would be interesting to find out what the deal is with that card.Posted in: MTG Japan news blog

Playing: Oasis - Champagne Supernova
Next Up: A Perfect Circle - The Hollow
Right Now:
The Cure - More Than This
Coming Up:
Duran Duran - Sunrise (Jason Nevins Remix)
Depeche Mode - Judas
Depeche Mode - Halo
As for Lava Spike, I think it's a good card. Definitely can turn the game to your favor if you are in a predictament. Like this one time I had my friend down to 1 life left and he destroyed all my mountains so I couldn't play my Lava Spike >. > In any case, I'm not particularly fond of changing it to blue for the Izzet stuff just now because that's not what I originally set out to experiment with.
2 Boros Garrison
2 Orzhov Basillica
5 Mountain
5 Plains
5 Swamp
1 Bile Urchin
1 Cunning Bandit
1 Faitfull Squire
1 Ghost-Lit Redeemer
1 Kuro, Pitlord
1 Oyobi, Who Split the Heavens
1 Shimatsu the Bloodcloaked
2 Agent of Masks
2 Blademane Baku
2 Frostling
2 Kami of False Hope
2 Waxmane Baku
4 Ember-Fist Zubera
4 Lantern Kami
4 Silent-Chant Zubera
1 Lava Spike
1 Rend Spirit
1 Sensei's Divining Top
2 Ghostly Prison
2 Glacial Ray
2 Souless Revival
3 Desparate Ritual
4 Rend Flesh
I think I'll take out Shimatsu because he doesn't seem to work when I play this deck. Kuro isn't too great either, so they're both gone, to put in 2 more Rend Spirits. If I had Sherei, he would definitely go in the deck. Could use more Lava Spikes for the burn and maybe splice. I might take out Desparate Ritual because I'm taking out Kuro. Cunning Bandit is going to stay as well as Oyobi, they are what I sort of based the deck off of (very loosly though). That's pretty much what I can think of. I want this deck to stay standard legal, so yeah. Suggestions?
In any case, Dissension should prove to be very interesting to say the least. Lol.
I would take the pack up to the cashier and tell them I found it there opened and if it was possible that I can buy it or not.
As it was mentioned before, they probably have a camera monitoring the area so, you don't want to get taped doing something shifty.
But then again, I can see why people say Kamigawa wasn't that great, because you're thinking tournament-wise. I don't really go to tournaments (maybe later). But still, playing just for fun, Kamigawa was cool. Mirrodin was ok, not the best. As for power yeah Mirrodin was a little overpowered but it was still interesting.
As for Ravnica, so far it's pretty ok. Dissension should make it very interesting.
For my vote, I guess I'd have to say Mirrodin was the worst (but I've been playing from Mirrodin and onward) because of afformentioned posts about affinity and such. Cranial Plating, Arcbound Ravager and Crusher really annoyed the heck outta me.
Taucetius - lvl 60 pally (play this guy most of the time)
+ alts
Shadow Moon:
Kirijolith - lvl 46 mage (alliance), play this guy very little
+ alts
Other servers (low lvl alts):
Skywall - Alliance
Tichondrius - Alliance
Azgalor - Horde
Hellscream - Horde
among others
I haven't really played MtG for long (about 7 months now), but I'm very much liking it.
I like Kamigawa block a lot, Ravnica is ok so far. Can't wait until Dissension comes out.
