I'm not much of a coder myself. I know basic C and C++. My friend was writing the code for this one, and he wrote it in Python, so it all looked like gibberish as I watched him type. That's okay though. I had lots of fun doing the graphics and sound. I'm soo tired.
http://www.pixel-arts.org/72/ There's the site. I think if you go on the message board you can get to the games. In total 24 games were submitted.
Unfortunately, my friend couldn't get sound, or the title screen, working in time, both of which I was quite proud of. Some of the graphics also didn't get implemented. We'll stick those things in for the verison we show to our friends.
The concept is pretty simple. You're a depressed, albiet adorable, emo kid. You kill zombies. There was going to be a cemetary, (graphics are done) but as I said. No time.
Controls are arrow keys to move, left Shift button to swing your crowbar at those zombies.
Hey, I haven't been here in a bit, since I've been taking part in this competition on the internet. The idea is to create a video game in only 72 hours. The deadline is tomorrow morning at 10:00am (it's 10:00pm right now here). So as you can imagine i've been busy. Crunch time.
Danial Radcliffe is okay looking in general, but in that photo he looks EXACTLY like this girl I once knew. They could switch ID and claim to be the other gender and born years apart. You'd be shocked. Shame I don't have any pictures of her to show you.
As far as the boys that all the fangirls cream themselves over, Johnny Depp is way cuter. He's adorable in Secret Window with the tussled hair.
Mmmmm, Keira Knightley... Definitely hot. That's a terrible photo of her though, Mikey. Not very fair. That's like the kind of photo tabloids use to take cheap shots at celebrities. :/
For guys and girls, skinnier is better. For girls though, I've noticed that although I find skinnier, darker hair, paler skin, etc, is more attractive, that all my conceptions of attractiveness can be rendered irrelevant if she has a personality that works with mine, dresses with style, and of course has a cute face. Nothing else matters much at all.
With guys, I can't stand the super-manly or muscly types. The huge manly jaw just seems larger than life, like enormous breasts on women. Again, clothing style definitly plays a big role.
I've found, though, that I'm way pickier with guys than with girls. I'm not really sure why. Anyone felt before that they were way pickier with one gender than the other?
Some creatures have prohibitively bad abilities, yes, but if they have a power other than 0, then they can win the game given the right circumstances. Great Wall has always been my vote for worst card since I first saw it. Search for creatures with plainswalk. It's just never relevant. Ever.
In Standard, what are you going to do? Sunforger? In extended you have all of Mirrodin block, so at least you can get something like Mindslaver or Mirari or something. But in Standard there's not nearly as much to work with.
I used to think I was more mature than the guys my age, and my dad still insists that I'm more mature than most, and I believe him, but I realized my fault of thinking I'm in any way superior to someone less mature than myself, and how I was wrong thinking that there aren't really mature people in my grade. My friends have shocked me with what they've done, what they've thought about, and the kinds of things they're into but never mentioned. There's so much to people. You could be in a relationship with someone for years and years and still only be getting to know them.
My friend took fencing for about a year, and I think he's picking it up again when he's not lazy with summer vacation syndrome. It's apparently perfect for someone who already has, or wants to hone, their arm strength and reflexes. These were my friend's strong points as it was, so he had a blast.
Okay then. I'm 17, so going into grade 12 next fall. I'm into, obviously, Magic, and also video games (the old-school kind, not this newfangled FPS or MMORPG stuff), but mostly music. I've collected a ridiculous number of CD's in the past couple years, and I've taken up the keyboard, the guitar, and singing, on top of the violin.
As for sexuality and that kind of experience, I've had a few girlfriends, but the only one that ever seemed like it could be something was a cheater. Multiple times. We've remained surprisingly good friends, and I'm over that by now. I'm discovering an attraction to guys in the past year or so. Not sure what to think totally, and totally completely not sure what I would do, so I've been basically letting it sit, in case an opportunity to explore more arises. I'm pretty antisocial, though, so meeting girls even is a challenge, despite the compliments I get on my looks. I feel like everyone's gay friend, in the sense that girls will be my friend easily, but I don't like hanging with people much, (and girls especially not much) and either I'm not interested, she isn't, or she has a boyfriend. So romance is kinda at a standstill.
Well, the pink link in the signatures realy catches the eye. I guess I just found this place, so hey everyone. I'd ask what it's all about, but it seems like it's pretty casual, talk about whatever. Am I guessing right?
Remember, Deck -> Library.
Card in play -> permanent.
If you put something into play, it's untapped by default, so you don't have to write it specifically. Untargetable things say "can't be the target of spells or abilities." 'Legendary' is a supertype. Use counters and Auras more; remember that cards with memory issues don't work. You need something physically in play for people to remember that something about a permanent is different from what's printed.
I agree. This was a good read, and I'm very much looking forward to future articles in the series, but explaining card choices, even with just a couple sentences per card, would improve it immensely. That way you can apply the process and logic to other decks. As it is, it's mostly like there's no point unless I'm playing that same strategy and those same cards.
Gawd, are they using purely volunteer artists for this stuff?
What a polar opposite from the fantastic Art we've come to enjoy in the cards.
That's an interesting point. You get the idea that they have high art standards, and then then try to sell you terrible style like that.
At this point, I don't really agree with any choice to use 3d rendering. For pretty much anything. It all looks like crap. That's why if I were them, I'd give some sort of option of having just an image avatar for the life total background. They could use a system like on the official forums, where you can choose from preselected ones, so no one tries to use an inappropriate image. Like on the official forums, they could hold contests to get a custom one. I don't see what's so hard about it.
This was useful, and I look forward to future articles, though I usually find myself teaching the game to fellow 16-year-old boys familiar with the strategy fantasy game genre.

Edit: oh yeah, we're "Team Zero" and I'm alias1.

Lavigne's got it going on.
Edit: Oh yeah, and if you're observant...
