As an alternative viewpoint, I run Rakdos burn with a white splash for the board, and I'm thrilled with it. I think Gonti's Machinations is definitely underrated, although you absolutely must have a high fetch count in order to reliably pop it. I started playing it for the Burn, but the three lifegain comes up more often than you'd think, especially against aggro decks where they have us on a clock but we're trying to close the game. With Sovereign's Bite, 8 lifegain effects in Rakdos, and 12 in Mardu, is nothing to sneeze at. Here's my current list, of which I'm still shaky on the manabase (trying to find the right distribution of Crypts to Foundries to basics).
I'm also considering dropping white and just folding to Leyline, but that's a really scary prospect to me. I wish Enchanter's Bane had been made Standard legal.
I was shaky on Lavamancer for a long time, but Elcon convinced me it was a strong idea, and I haven't gone back. Really thrilled with him.
What do you think about rain of gore in the side board?
I've been jamming 4 MB Molten Rain on Cockatrice and it's lols against all of the BBE, JTMS, and Tron decks. Guide -> Eidolon -> Molten Rain beats lots of decks, even if Molten Rain is just Stone Rain haha.
I was thinking about that (Molten Rain in main board). Seens to me it is a good shot against almost any deck.
So, do you guys think is it worth?
The mana base is challenging since our objective is drop blood moon as soon as possible. Another problem is that Blood Moon doesn't have sinergy with path to exile.
I'm not sure if I should run simian spirit guide.
What do you guys think about this list.
Not sure how active this forum is but I would like some opinions on my build :). I am trying to build a Mardu Nahiri / Superfriends type of deck, one that focuses on Planeswalkers of various sorts to win the game (cuz we all know that playing Wall shows Nahiri is your only win con) I have had some decent success online but i have only really faced one deck actually in the meta (Burn) which i won that game.. Anyways, here is my list below please let me know your thoughts.
I was also on this list with -1 Land, -1 Elspeth, Knight-Errant, +1 Liliana of the Veil, +1 Nahiri, the Harbinger +1 Painful Truths.
Gideon of the Trials is a house and needs no explanation, he blanks a creatures, draws aggro, forces over exertion into a Damnation and protects nahiri really well.
Liliana of the Veil Is also great but i agree with other posts i have seen that she alone in the 4 lil and 4 nahiri plan is not enough of a defense hence why i am playing more walkers now
Elspeth, Knight-Errant is a token producer for blockers and can turn those tokens or spirit tokens into Colonnades without Vig, Shambling vent into a 5/6 Lifelink and Gideon of the Trials into a 7/7 beat stick.. been impressed so far.
Ajani Vengeant probably the only walker that is not a "deal with me now" card but if he sticks around locking land, gaining 3 life and blowing up all lands is golden
Gideon Jura never leave home without him, he is amazing, beater, removal, aggro whore you got it all
Nahiri, the Harbinger The reason i built this deck to begin with.. I like the control aspect with the innevitable combo win with Emrakul.. i believe Mardu is her best shell.
Let me know what your thoughts are, I really want to optimize this, I have contemplated not playing the board wipes but i think in the current meta and with the curve of T1 discard T2 wall T3 Gideon T4 damnation they pretty required. Painful Truths is another card that may not be needed but refilling the hand is always nice.. could become a Bedlam Reveler maybe?
Hey man. Im thinking to run a list similar to yours. Are you still running this list? How is it doing these days?
Do you guys see potential in play Hidden Stockpile with Butcher of the Horde?
You can sacrifice a token to Butcher and in the end of your turn you put another token from Stockpile. You can repeat the process in the next turn.
You always will have a token to sacrifice with Butcher.
Guys, I was thinking about Ashok Chitturi's deck. He doesn't run color cards, so he doesn't need to run Springleaf Drum (a card that don't do anything). I know, Tezz is Amazing but it is a four drop and needs a blue and black mana. Removing these cards we open slots to creatures like steel overseer, being possible to have a more explosive deck.
I just don't agree with him about remove Thoughtcast, because it's our only tool to refuel our hand.
I will build a list and post here later.
I personally don't like nighthawk in this deck. I think we should focus to kill by infect. Vatmother works fine for me. I never had problems to cast, and usually 2 attacks is enough to kill the opponent. And it is hard to remove, doesn't die to bolt, drown in sorrow, anger of gods, doom blade, consume the meek, etc.
I like to run 4 inkmoth, because I feel the deck has few creatures.
I run a Bg list with a Mono B control shell.
Talking about budget cards I recommend Phyrexian Vatmother, it skips a lot of removals like lightning bolt, lightning helix, anger of gods.
Try to run runechanter's pike, its a beast with a lot of discard spells.
Blazing Shoal with Reaper King for combo.
Hey guys! Is mono black infect still alive? It does sort of well in my local meta so I still run it. I have a list and feedback on it would be much appreciated.
So basically this list has decent matchups with most of my meta, especially control. It's a 50/50 with MonoUtron, though the biggest problems I run into are B/g/x, Jund, and Affinity.
The aggro is hard to manage especially with few board wipes. For the first two their removal has much more value which makes it difficult for me to make my threats stick. My only hope is to stall them out with the ensnaring bridge. This doesn't last too much though.
For affinity, their type of aggro is way too fast which usually involves spewing out their entire hand by turn 2/3. Discard makes little difference in this matchup and spot removal is inefficient on ravager and champion. I tried including consume the meek to answer Jund and Affinity and it works well on the latter so far. I haven't had a chance to test it on Jund/B/g/x yet, but any comments would be highly appreciated. ^^
Yes, I think the Mono B Infect is still alive. But I'm not sure if Mono Black is the best option. Is easy to splash another color and get some important tools to deal with artifacts and enchantments.
I like your list, but I would cut the Lashwrithe, I think it's not necessary. It's 4 mana and you already have Runechanter's
Only 1 arena is enough to refuel your hand? Have you tried Night's Whisper?
I thought about Consume the Meek in the side, since it doesn't kill our Vatmothers, but 5 mana scares me. How it works with you?

I'm thinking to run this list.
1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
3 Liliana of the veil
4 Lingering Souls
2 Gurmag Angler
4 Inquisition of Kozilek
3 Thoughtseize
2 Collective Brutality
4 Fatal Push
3 blood moon
3 faithless looting
2 damnation
1 anguished unmaking
1 Dreadbore
3 Plains
1 Mountain
4 Marsh Flats
4 Bloodstained Mire
1 Arid Mesa
2 Blood Crypt
2 Godless Shrine
2 Sacred Foundry
The mana base is challenging since our objective is drop blood moon as soon as possible. Another problem is that Blood Moon doesn't have sinergy with path to exile.

Is grim lavamancer good these days?
You can sacrifice a token to Butcher and in the end of your turn you put another token from Stockpile. You can repeat the process in the next turn.

Heve anyone tried 1 or 2 Phyrexian Unlife in main deck?
I just don't agree with him about remove Thoughtcast, because it's our only tool to refuel our hand.

A list with galvanic blast and shrapnel blast?
For me tron is a auto loss.
