Netflix may go under before 2020 though. They have the business acumen of bolas so it's fitting they will share his fate.

Not likely, Netflix hasn’t been great financially due to the massive loans that they took out, but they grossed $5 billion in profit last year. Even with Disney+ coming and other streaming services, they are the biggest streamers out there, competition is good.

I think Davriel would make a fantastic protagonist for the show.

A show with a villain protagonist. I'd watch that.

And don't go claiming he isn't a villain, he traffics with demons.

Did you learn nothing from Brandon Sanderson's novella, lol?

He is not really a "good" guy, I will give you that. But, he also isnt really a villian.

    Maybe I interpreted it incorrectly.

Like most monoblack planeswalkers, he's a villain protagonist. I think Sorin is the one nonvillainous exception, but even then, Sorin's a bastard. But once you traffic with demons, you are no longer a hero. And even ignoring that, he literally rips peoples memories out of their heads (I.e. forces a discard).
But that does not mean that villain protagonists aren't capable of doing good things, many of them do. It's been a very long while since we've had a truly heroic monoblack character.

Davriel isn’t a villain, he’s an Anti-hero, its a fine line, but there is a difference. There are plenty of Anti-heroes that make good protagonist for shows. Punisher, Deadpool, Walter White, Jamie Lannister, Frank Underwood. They can take a show in pretty much any direction without undermining the “Superman complex” that the “Lawful Good” characters get stuck in.

Davriel also has a lot of flushing out to do, which the show can do.

Not a fan, though I don’t see it much of an issue for Standard, Commander or Limited, but every other format? No.

Ugin is also in the Meditation Realm with Bolas, so unless this is some odd point between Tarkir and BFZ, there’s no way she could be fighting him.

I am still going to hold out for a live action movie based on the Innistrad story line; I think that would being in new players.

I would be curious to see how WoW subRainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kittys increased (if at all) after the movie came out.

WoWs numbers jumped but there was also the Legion expansion launch 2 months later. Between the two it was about 4-4.5 million subs.

As for the Netflix series, I’m tentatively excited because the Russo Brothers know how to handle such large and character diverse storylines, but not looking forward to the animation style as very very series have had what I consider good animation in the last 20 years outside of movie level.

As "The Dragon Prince", which is made by the same studio, has top notch animation, I wouldn't worry.

That was one that gave me some hope in the project. While I haven’t seen the show, some of the stills were well done. However this is also the same studio that did the crappy TMNT, Wubbzy, and Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty. But I’d be very ok with The Dragon Prince stylization

Shouldn't wotc have revealed the fall set by now according to their prior schedules ? I mean it was always before june, right ?

If fall is snow themed it makes sense to not reveal before the first wave of modern horizons, cause people will look to open the snow lands. After like 30 days of its realease and after core 20 releases, they can reveal it to give a new hype in modern horizons (people looking for the snow interation cards). And theoricaly it would not afect core 20 because in theory it is the corset that will see play in 2020, in theory because core 19 is rotating out in mid 2019 with almost less than a year of standard play.

Core sets always rotate out with the fall release, leaving a 3 month span where both core sets are legal.

As for the snow, I doubt that it has anything to do specifically with snow and more to do with wanting to give people the time with War and MH1. I expect an announcement will be sometime this week or next.

I doubt M20 ones will have it just due to when development happened. M21? Yeah they probably will.

My guess is that the "classes" are going to be flexible based on each color, with your abilities either earned through questing or being able to chose how your magic manifests, and you'll be able to add a secondary and tertiary color

Not all PW's are shoved into
Chandara and Jaya are "Spell slingers" where as Koth is artifact based and Sharkhan is dragon based.
Nissa is mana/land's based where Viven is Creature based.

I'd love to be able to summon a specific type of creature ala Liliana/Varaska/Kasmiana/Teyo, while others can focus on spells.

Well since cycling is a thing in the set

Crossing my fingers for enemy bicycle lands (amonkhet duel lands)

Per Rosewater the land cycle is the only thing that’s currently Modern legal, my guess is enemy fetch lands

I thought that it was that the only Modern legal cards were going to be the 5 enemy basics and there had been no word of any kind on a rare land cycle. did you see something else? Link?

While I could be misunderstanding his comment and he means the basic lands, he says that the only lands are reprints.

    https://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/184861010948/you-said-modern-horizons-will-have-some-reprints
theapteryx-blog asked: You said Modern Horizons will have some reprints from non-Modern legal sets. Does this also mean that there will be no reprints from Modern-legal sets (that have never been Modern legal)?

Other than the cycle of lands, there aren’t any Modern-legal reprints.

I'm pretty sure it’s that another planeswalker, such as Tezzeret, would not be able to Summon him via spell. Without a name, there is no way tomtarget him specifically in the Blind Eternities/Aether. This doesn’t mean that there won’t be an attempt to bring him back, cuz lets face it, Bolas is one of MTGs most iconic villains with plenty of henchmen and Bolas is smart enough to leave a backup plan
