Jaytron, my answer would be uneducated at best since I do not play Arcum. I wanted to know TrueNub's experience with the deck in competitive environments. He is playing five counterspells, three of which cost triple mana. Damia and Azami are some of the competitive control generals that play 12 plus counterspells including several of the single blue mana type. Truenub either is not facing heavy blue control in his meta or he has found from experience that he can resolve Arcum without Cavern of Souls.

I was surprised Expedition Map was not included. It seems advantageous in a competitive environment to use it to get Cavern of Souls.

I read a lot of these primers and your explanation of how to operate the deck is the best. I do have a question. Why is Expedition Map not in the deck as a way to get Cavern of Souls?

I should have worded my question better. I understand the infinite Salvaging Station trigggers. I wanted to see how he worked the triggers to get the infinite turns off the time slieve. Can you sacrifice the clone, three other 1 drop artifacts and time slieve to get the extra turn and then use each Salvaging Station trigger to recur them?

Jostin123, it is great to have you back contributing. I have been running over in my mind your response to Jaytron's question about Intuition. Can you give a more detailed explination on how you would get infinite Sharuums, infinite Savaging Stations triggers, and infinite turns? It may be I am ignorant on how to stack the triggers.

Welgo, I understand your point. I should have been more specific. I asked Jostin123 if the deck would function effectively without Mishra's Workshop, Timetwister, and Bazzar of Bagdad (I have all the other cards). He said I would be better served using Jack_from_NC's list which at the time did not contain those cards. Jack_from_NC is now using proxies for Mishra's Workshop and Timetwister. Another prominent contributer to this thread has started using proxies.
Jostin123 is the undisputed expert on his list. What was needed was perspectives on the other builds. Particularly, insight into which cards to substitute for the ultra expensive ones and how they interacted with the deck. These alternate builds also provided information on the effectiveness of the deck.

I started following this thread because I felt this was the best place of info on various builds of Sharuum. Jostin123's list while expertly built and discussed contained cards such as Mishra's Workshop, Timetwister, and Bazzar of Bagdad. These cards are outside the price range of over 99 percent of Magic players. So in a sense, Jostin123's primary input was his explanation of interactions between cards such as Karn, Salvaging Station and Trading Post. For that, he has been invaluable. The issue of the effectiveness of his build then could be limited to those who had the ultra expensive cards.
Fortunately, he was the only player on this thread who had those cards. Now it seems that more and more of you are playing proxies of these cards. This reduces your relevance to only those who have the cards and playgroups that overlook the taboo of proxies. I believe the issue is more prevalent on this thread than any other and is getting worse. This begs the question. Is a grindy, interactive, resilient Sharuum viable? If so, why could you not resist the temptation?

I found this thread because of your posts on Jack_from_NC's Sharuum thread. They were very insightful so I figured the odds were you would have a quality decklist. My shop does both partial Paris and full mulligans depending on who is playing. If I wanted to add lands, what would you cut? I guess a better question would be what are the weakest three cards?

Jostin123, can you explain how this work? You posted:
"3) To generate infinite mana using Salvaging Station an artifact clone, copying Salvaging Station, and Karn, Silver Golem's activated ability".
Why do you need the an artifact clone copying Salvaging Station? You sacrifice LED generating three mana. You use one to animate with Karn. LED goes to the graveyard where it is returned to play with Salvaging Station. You have two mana floating and again start the cycle.

Wow, thanks, that was fast. I also play Beacon of Tomorrows. If it is in the deck, I choose it as the card to put on top of my library.

What happens if Narset attacks after Enter the Infinite has been cast? Do you deck yourself?

I was wondering if you plan on putting Surrak Dragonclaw into the deck.

I am building this deck almost exclusively based on your list. The one exception is Prophet of Kruphix. I have read and understand your objections. That being understood, if I was determined to include it what would you remove?
