    Flexibility is a good thing.

I honestly think this card has more constructed (and EDH) applications than the Merfolk that was spoiled.

The majority of people can't evaluate cards very well, you wouldn't believe all the hoopla Rakdos, Lord of Riots got while people balked at Sphinx's Revelation when it was first spoiled, citing it couldn't be used a win condition like Blue Sun's Zenith, among other things. I guess they never thought of.....you know.....drawing 5 and gaining 5 as a win condition. mind boggling stuff, I know.

The price of True-name nemesis probably rises up 50$. Before re-printing, Ooze only be used on Maverick and sideboard card and was very expensive.

    Just......no

Unexpectedly Absent and Toxic Deluge are the 2 best cards for legacy. The 3 drop guy has Geist and Vendilion Clique to compete with, both are much better, albeit different cards. Maybe in merfolk like the above said.

domestication is very good against the blue version of the deck. Taking Nightveil Specter, stealing master of Waves while killing it's tokens.

Skullcrack doesn't target creatures. The 3 damage is done to target player. As for the damage prevention, it's non-targeting so it gets around pro-red.

He's saying that the "damage can't be prevented" clause in the card still doesn't really do anything since Master of Waves can't be targeted by red spells, regardless if damage is preventable or not.

overall card quality is much higher in the newer deck.

Higure and Ninja of the Deep Hours are probably better cards than anything in the new deck, but outside of that its a pile of poop.

expecting people to pay several hundred dollars per playset to build one deck for modern is ridiculous

What does this have to do with Wizards of the Coast?

I've said this many times, and I'll say it again.

You are not entitled to play Modern or Legacy simply because you play Magic.

You are not entitled to own things you can't afford.

Tarmogoyf is not in every modern deck, it's not even in most decks. The same goes for Thoughtseize, Vendilion Clique, and Dark Confidant. People's fascination's with "expensive cards" has somehow deluded them into thinking that they are required to own these cards to play modern, which couldn't be further from the truth. play Pod, play Splinter Twin, play affinity, play Cruel Control or Tron. All top tier strategies that don't play any of the above cards typically.

Magic is a hobby, if you can't afford it, find a new one.

Never ever pre-order mythics that pre-sell for over 30 dollars.

Since M11, only Liliana of the Veil stayed at or above that price during it's time in standard. Voice seems to be another exception, but it is indeed that, an exception.

having access to cards is not why newer players lose, they lose because they aren't very good.

Evangel is head and shoulders above the other cards in the pack, easy pick imo.

Wall or Voyage's End, you can probably wheel the other or get the other decent blue cards and be in decent shape. real stinker of a pack tho.

Because Thassa, gives card advantage each turn without having to pay any additional mana outside of the intal costs, is a 5/5 indestructible creature at times, and makes your creatures unblockable.

Versus a card that lets you potentially dig through 4 cards in your deck. Both cards are good, but you're REALLY misevaluating Thassa.

Thassa doesn't give you card advantage in any way. How is it turning into a creature? Where are these blue permanents that are going to make it into one? What creatures are worth making unblockable, and are blue, and are playable?

Read the Bones is ACTUALLY card advantage, and seeing up to 4 cards at once is worth a lot more than seeing 1 card next turn.

Personally I don't like that card much, simply because it deals damage to your own creatures too (and its a sorcery). I don't see why you'd want to play it if you have creatures out, which alot of aggro does. Unless they are playing midrange ofc it could be a difference story.

Also like Zero said, Brave the Elements does well against it.

It's not meant to be played in aggressive decks or decks full of small creatures.

    it's always playable

Mana Bloom and Sylvan Caryatid are the best options available. Also, don't forget about Keyrunes.
