I'm personally very excited for 3 sets of ravnica. I've been waiting for this since the day the last ones rotated out of standard.
Also it's good new that all the partner legends work in edh and some people had guessed.
Also of note is they spoiled another story spotlight which spoilers...

Also if somebody could show me how to make the little spoiler tabs that'd be nice.
Edit: The card is settle the score if any are curious
And before you say something about how not every Karn has to be made for Tron, I disagree. the flavor in this set is amazing, to have the greatest creation of Urza not have a home in the deck with URZA lands is just a huge fail. make him cost nine and when he drops, he could drop kick this one into the nearest star.
I wasn't going to mention Tron.
I was going to say that Wizards has pointed out before that the planeswalker cards are basically snapshots of those walkers at various points in time. The cards don't illustrate all of the abilities those walkers have, lest they'd have a dozen loyalty abilities and be costed so highly that they'd be unplayable.
Karn at this point in time isn't trying to be a walking weapon of mass destruction (at least not yet anyway). He has abilities that are still in theme for the silver golem, but toned down.
this is also another great way of looking at it as sometimes characters can change and with that so can their abilities.
When that Dominaria trailer came out with the really ugly KPT Bryce Karn, I was hoping--praying--that the art used for this planeswalker wasn't that art...but it is. That is depressing. I love the card, but I might have to blindfold myself when I cast it, because it looks ugly.
This new Karn still disgusts me, I hate it so, SO much. Seriously, I hate that card more than anything else they have come out with, maybe since I started playing, it's just blasphemy to call it Karn.
If it's the flavour, then I don't see the issue since Karn has created robots before, and the silver counter thing is a reference to his silver allowing him to time travel. If it's the fact that he's pretty pushed, then I can see why that would be a cause for concern. Either way, I don't see how it's "blasphemy" to call it Karn.
It's none of those, least of all being pushed, he's weak and boring to my eyes. the original Walker card was amazing, a level of busted that was fitting for a former god, he could lay waste, and he worked perfectly with the Urza lands, which was a huge flavor win. Karn is an 8 foot tall metal titan, he's not supposed to be some midrange friendly 4 drop that any deck can play and it gains steady but relatively slow advantage. Karn is supposed to carry and just BE the biggest stick around. have his plus be something with creating beefy robots, have some suitably powerful time silver themed ability, it's just that he's more of a Jund card than Tron, he's so much weaker than last time. Ugin was a MUCH better Karn than this.

firstly I think this is a very good card while also being balanced. Your argument that it should be a tron card based on there being urza lands in the deck doesn't really make much sense. Cards shouldn't be designed in a way that they should slot into certain decks for only flavor reasons and flavorfully I don't think there's anything wrong with the card to begin with (based on his abilities)
So I'm looking to read the books to catch up with pretty much the whole history of dominaria( I know the basics but id like to know all the small details). Where's the best place to begin
This list is pretty much sequential, so one follows after the other historically in Dominaria.
The Thran will give background on the Thran Empire and its fall, and the rise of Phyrexia. Brothers War will fill you in on the conflict between Urza pre-walker and Mishra. Planeswalker, Time Streams (I think?), and Bloodlines will give a history of Urza and Dominaria during his life. There's also I think a trilogy on the Ice Age (takes place after Brothers War), but I don't recall the names except maybe Gathering Dark. Then there's Rath and Storm that touches slightly on some things in Dominaria and introduces the famous Weatherlight crew. Mercadian Masques is more adventures of the crew in Mercadia, Nemesis is about Rath after Rath and Storm, and Prophecy is about Keldons and Jamuraa. Then Invasion, Planeshift, and Apocalypse all deal with the Phyrexian Invasion of Dominaria, and close the Weatherlight saga. Then you have the Odyssey and Onslaught storylines, but I don't recall any of the books except the last one, Scourge, I think. That all takes place on Dominaria and introduces the Cabal. Then after that I think it's Time Spiral, Planar Chaos, and Future Sight, which are about Teferi trying to save Dominaria and the Multiverse from destruction due to time rifts.
There are no doubt a couple I've missed. I remember mostly the ones I've read.
