This is likely to be UMA pricing, if not more, which makes sense given the double aspect.
Mythic slot looks to be really good so far. Super disappointed that there are no fetchlands. Hopefully all 10 will be in Commander Legends and that set’s pricing won’t be dumb.
Now the mythic slot looks good, but how will the rare slot look with regards to value? Hopefully there’s some good stuff in the rare slot.
The big issue with this card imo is the double red in the mutate. Really wish it were double blue or double white. The best targets for this in Standard are Teferi and Narset. If it were double blue or double white you could keep this in blue white control and just play for the mutate cost. The mutate cost forces you into Jeskai which is unfortunate
You could t1 forest, llanowar elves, and then t2 play this for its mutate cost, resulting in a Turn 2 4/4 with reach and trample that can also tap for green mana?
If an opponent uses some kind of removal after they’ve mutated, you’re down both.
Almost modern playable if it wasn’t simétrical on all modes it could be a liliana of the veil (kinda). Looks good with biterblosson too. Hope wotc oficializes a modern brawl, would be fun to build with hin as a commander.
Imo this will only see play in brawl and the RB aristocratis in standard.
You're likely just going to be playing it for the body or for some kind of graveyard recursion deck in Standard. This isn't remotely close to Modern playable imo.
The power level of this card and some of the other cards we've seen along with Food as a mechanic makes me feel like this set is going to be significantly weaker than what we've seen the last few sets, and an overall trend downwards in power level. It's unfortunate it has to happen with such a flavorful set as this.
Food tokens are horrendous without synergies. Was it really too much to ask to make the activation cost 1 instead of 2? Hell, even 1, T: You gain 2 life is infinitely better than this.
I have a feeling this is the se where the power level goes way down. The power level has been rather high as of late, and I have a feeling Wizards is very concerned about power creep and perhaps is using ELD to calm things down a bit.
EDIT: With Graffdigger’s Cage we have all 53 rares. The list is inaccurate as red and green both have 8 rares rather than 7, which is why the count is wrong.
I guess we aren’t getting a 16th mythic. It’s probably just an extra common.
If only this checked across all yards instead of only your own... would thar be too powerful
This will be good in Standard, especially with all the reanimation strategies putting stuff in your yard and proliferate to add more counters as the game progresses.
In Modern, with the current meta having so much graveyard hate and this being literally useless with Leyline of the Void out makes me question its viability, at least for now. It could be good at some point. It’s very reasonable to have a 6/6 flying, deathtouch for 3 with some of the stuff some decks play.

Gonna be an awesome EDH card.

Sadly, on the play, T1 Goose into t2 Oko kills this on T3. Oko is just too good.

Black mythic.

Bingo. And he can use it on himself on an empty board.
