With what's already in standard there may be some sort of Aura stompy as an option, of course in older formats and/or EDH this is going to be hella fun.
I really don't like that the enchantment payoffs we've seen so far aren't entchantments themselves. This card and the earlier spoiled setessan champion could have easilie been enchantment creatures like in the first theros block where I believe all cards with constellation were entchantments
They got really badly burned with the original version of Affinity back in Mirrordin Block and have been quite frightened to push it too hard since. This is a big part of why we didn't get enchantment lands and why we won't get an enchantment creature with affinity for enchantments. They've pushed about as hard as they feel comfortable, which seems further than last time with the silly costs on the Bestow creatures.
some weird 4CC build to make that work... seems like a lot of hoops. No matter what, this is a build around card and pound for pound in the current standard you're probably better running Forbidden Fruit in any slots you'd put this into. And I'm not saying that's saying much. And any other format has better options in B.
I think a Bant Auras build may be viable with T2 this off of goose or a new dork into T3 Staggering Insight. 3/5 attacking on 3 seems reasonable, even before the card draw.
Not really - you can get a loop of the champions entering and leaving, but the Fanatic won't be caught up in it. You can Champion the Fanatic a couple of times, so it might do some decent damage depending on your current Devotion...
All 4 enter, stack the changelings on the bottom, and Mogis on top - Mogis resolves, deals damage.
1st Changeling champions mogis. 2nd Changeling Champions 1st Changeling, releases Mogis. deals damage.
But now you're stuck. You can have the 3rd changeling champion the second, which releases the first, etc - into a loop of the changelings - but your Fanatic of Mogis is not part of that loop. You can hide the Fanatic again, either by hiding it with the 3rd changeling, or by championing a champion until you decide to hide the fanatic...
Now, with this loop of changelings, you could have Impact Tremors or purphoros already out, at which point, yeah, they're dead - but then you don't need the Fanatic.
I can't believe I'm about to say this but with Irencrag Feat and a few rituals this might be a T3 win, Impact Tremors on 2, changeling storm on 3. About as glass cannon a list as you're likely to find anywhere but then what's the point of playing red (outside of burn) if you aren't going to gamble?
It's also possible that negative reactions to various parts of the recent lore has soured them even further. I for one support this decision. The supplemental lore material has been significantly weaker thanhsn the rest of their properties for a long time.
Do we know if being a demigod has any inherent game meaning (i.e. all demigods are x/* where * is your devotion) or is it just a creature type for flavor?
Eidolon of Blossoms has a few more thing going for it this doesn't. Its an enchantment itself so it self-draws and will trigger other constellation cards and the extra mana is green so that plays a role with devotion running around.
Yes, I'd originally thought the Champion was an enchantment. That does take it down in value. Still, as a long time enchantress player I will be valuing this quite high.
Arbitrary or not, it seems a lot of interactions that were crowded out of modern should be viable and going slightly wider than the original Frontier proposal should allow things to be a little broader than the Frontier naysayers were scared off. There may actually be a possibility of my pet deck (mono w lifegain beats/soul sisters variants) to have some legs.
I'm... kind of confused why Malevolent Noble is... malevolent. Honestly sounds like a pretty nice guy unless I'm supposed to believe that the fresh children bones are sincere.
I'm sure to those witches he seems plenty malevolent.
So green (tertiary in draw after U and B) gets an artifact that adds the word "visionary" to the end of every creature's name and U gets a loot effect? Would it have been too strong to give this just the draw without the discard?
Are you really comparing a mythic to an uncommon?
Given the difference in stregths across the color pie and what else that Mythic does I don't think it's a completely off-base comparison. But it's not just the Henge, green draw in this set seems quite strong while blue is almost all looting

Well if you play Kenrith you can actually play a 37 Plains mana base and still get there with W/x Hybrids so in a way it would be mono-white just a new version of 5c at the same time.
And yet, that's not a mono-white deck. That is a multicolor deck. Sure, you can cripple your card choice to run a mono-colored mana-base, but the cards you are playing are more than just white.
No doubt, and I'm certainly not justifying this decision but this is exactly the sort of double-speak we expect from Maro these days. Just like he once called Terastodon 18 power for 6GG

Well we got the new Eidelon of Philosophy already, so... Yes, just not sure if they are the ones you want.
