    Constructed:

Turn 1: Drop a mana dork and pray the dork survives
Turn 2: Dies to removal or is countered
Turn 3: If it survives it may have to chump block something big again dies to removal.
Turn 4: Go ahead and attack into an opponents creature probably bigger than a measly 2/2 if they are on creatures, tap out for 5 mana for a 5/5 flyer as you lose your 2/2 and pray a Ratchet Bomb or Blast Zone isn't on the battlefield.

I'm sorry this card is slow and bad in Constructed. It is WAY to conditional. You can try to convince me otherwise but unless there is something that boosts this card up it is a dragon only tiny niche constructed card. I don't draft so this will be the garbage constructed card I pull in droves if I buy boosters.

You don't play this in a deck with dorks, you play it in a deck with gingerbrute, Bobo and 18 other tiny threats, in Standard Burn the upside of having a Nana sink is huge and there really isn't anything right now other than Castle Embereth, in Historic there's Hazoret the Fervent but I'd still play 2x this as an additional mana sink. Yes, burn can win on 2 lands but sometimes you flood.

It returns the spell to your hand, instead of "countering" it.

So if you can get a profit of a spell regardless of the flips outcome, its all upside (like storm, replicate, any other "copy" ability on spells.
Pretty sure returning the spell to your hand means it doesn't resolve. Just like playing Unsubstantiate against an opponent's spell. Here's the ruling:
If a spell is returned to its owner’s hand, it’s removed from the stack and thus will not resolve. The spell isn’t countered; it just no longer exists. This works against a spell that can’t be countered.
I wouldn't call that all upside. I'd call that annoying and disruptive, especially with higher mana spells that you may not be able to afford casting multiple times a turn.

You're missing some fairly critical pieces that were specifically called out in the post you're replying to: Storm and Replicate. In the case of Storm, if the spell is cheap enough you just get to increase your storm count by 1 and cast the spell again. That can be very good in the right situation. In the case of replicate, all the other copies resolve (I'm pretty sure that replicate happens when you cast the spell not as it resolve), and then there are various niche cards that reward you for casting spells (Thousand Year Storm etc.)

Well thank goodness tormenting voice is in standard still, at least that way if I draw any cards from ZKR I can pitch them to pay for it and draw cards from the rest of standard.

The pig is ultra adorable. Wildwood Scourge is a cute little hyrda in the right context, kind of wish they'd bumped the rarity and given it trample.

    Seems good with Dual Casting.

Or a level 4 Echo Mage, I guess.

For the ultimate in jank, add any of Goblin Medics, Night Market Lookout, Servant of Tymaret, Fallowsage, Sphinx's Disciple or, my personal favorite, Grimoire Thief

Edit: on second thought, with rituals this could be a t3 win in Modern. Clearly not a deck but maybe the seed of something.

posted a message on [IKO] - Weekly MTG Spoilers - Tricycle Lands!
One interesting thing about these is how location specific they are. Historically, lands have been named super generic names to allow for reprinting in other planes, any plane could have a Godless Shrine or a lonely sandbar. Names like these are reserved for land that will not be reprinted in other settings. Not sure what that signals but I feel like this will be the wedge plane going forwards.

Well, given that Winged Words is fairly playable and this is conditionally cheaper, may very well see play. Certainly does a great job of capturing the bond flavour.

Oooh this might be fatal push of the set

Man I hope Lukka revolts and free’s the tiger

Sadly, I'm pretty sure based on Weaponize The Monsters he only gets to his tiger friend too late. Though, I'm rather glad the scope of our story is man meets cat, man looses cat, man topples plane rather than step 3 being man goes and gets the Guild Pact and the whole pantheon of walkers comes in and lends a redundant hand.

What I want to understand at this point is why does the trailer show Vivien helping the humans when it seems very much like Lukka and Vivien are united (at least at some point in the story) on bringing a new world order to this plane. (New Plane Order?)

Well thats gonna be hard to beat if there are enough human tokens generating cards in limited. Neat card. Just think the flavorVSeffect is a bit off, you tap the "guards" to get the "traitor" off the city?

Well, the quote isn't exactly correct - apparently they give exactly 1 quarter to traitors - a room in the dungeon with two guards watching them.
