Hello everyone! I'm back. Has anyone here played Meddling Mage in the sideboard? I think it could be interesting against combo and tron, so I'll try it. Any feedback?
Hello guys! I'm trying the new History of Benalia right now. T3 HOB, T4 Gideon, Ally of Zendikar seems great! I can see that someone here is still not sold on this. I still don't know what to think. So far it's been good, but I need to play it more
2. Gideons are great. They're great against any non-combo, non-big mana deck. Fatcaster Mage is here to compensate the loss against these two types of decks. I tried Jace, the Mind Sculptor but I didn't like him very much.
Now:
1. I know that my sideboard is a little "messy" with tons of 1-of, but that's how I like it
2. Gideons are great. They're great against any non-combo, non-big mana deck. Fatcaster Mage is here to compensate the loss against these two types of decks. I tried Jace, the Mind Sculptor but I didn't like him very much.
I've been playing this for a couple months now and I'm really satisfied. I haven't got a chance to play the new Teferi, Hero of Dominaria, that's something I want to try. Tips are welcome, if you like this version we can talk about it.
Ehi guys! Nobody here talked about the pro tour. No UWx decks in the top8! What do you think? Any thoughts on Corey's Grixis list with 4 Cryptic Command, 4 Kolaghan's Command AND 4 Field of Ruin? 4 colorless lands
BTW this is my current list

Just so I am first. . . Some number of Fatal Push is considered core to the deck now. Start // Finish[/card] and Anguished Unmaking are both a bit slow. I personally like one copy of AU main-deck, but you need to make room for some copies of Push. A three-three split of Raise the Alarm and Bitterblossom is perhaps too many. I would cut at least two from Start // Finish, RtA, Bitterblossom for Push and three is probably better.
Runed Halo is usually going to be better and the price is right whereas the four-CMC of Intervention is out-of-line. Settle the Wreckage is probably too expensive as well and Baneslayer Angel is just not a good fit at five-CMC.

In addition to what pzbw7z pointed out regarding Fatal Push, I would definitely swap that Isolated Chapel for a third Windswept Heath. You are running 9 lands that do not fulfill Chapel's check requirement, so the probability of it coming into play tapped is high enough that it should be removed. The extra fetch will also increase the relative value of Fatal Push, which I agree you should be running at least three copies of. Additionally, running Windbrisk Heights is player preference, but most of us switched it out for Shambling Vent, which seems to perform better in practice.
You're running 9 discard spells in your 75. If Storm is very prevalent in your meta, this is potentially reasonable, but otherwise, you can afford to drop the Duress. I would recommend a second Stony Silence, would swap Gideon's Intervention for Runed Halo, and (assuming you have this card in there for tough swarm matchups like Elves), would swap Settle the Wreckage for Flaying Tendrils.
I realize this is quite a few recommendations, but overall your build is pretty solid. Good luck with the adjustments
Just a couple of things:
1. We all agree that Runed Halo is better, so I'll play them. Baneslayer Angel is a card my gf really loves, that's the reason why it's there... xP but I can easily put a second Stony Silence in this slot
2. Storm is very popular in my meta, this is why I have so many discard spells
3. I'm not really sold on Flaying Tendrils but, tbh, I'm not convinced by Settle the Wreckage either... Against Merfolk or Elves, for example, if they have 2+ lords on the battlefield the card is useless. Any other option, other than Wrath of God?
4. Thanks for all the inputs on the lands!
5. Do you think a third Sorin, Solemn Visitor is better than Gideon, Ally of Zendikar?
Hi guys! I'm new to the deck, I'm currently playing the Whir of Invention version and I think it's great. The deck seems strong, it's quite hard but you can get some free-win thanks to Ensnaring Bridge, which is great! This is my current list, any feedback will be appreciated:
I'd also like to know how is your burn MU - I never found timely reinforcements good enough against them, and you MD doesn't seem to be much prepared too. Looks like a good list though! Probably gaining points where we have good chances and not caring much about some of the more difficult MUs?
Thanks
I'm not struggling vs valakut: mainboard we have too many dead cards, which is bad, but after sideboard we get better with more counters, some discard and Surgical Extraction.
Dredge, sadly, is bad. I'm playing Settle the Wreckage as a way to fight 'em, but it's only a 1-of and it's vulnerable to discard. Luckily it's been a while since I've played against it, otherwise I would consider a second Settle, more extraciton effect or RIP... but I'm not really interested in trying to beat something where we ALWAYS lose g1.
Burn is bad too, it's not unbeatable but it's clearly not in our favor. Timely Reinforcements and Blessed Alliance are ok, they can be better paired up with Dispel but they're versatile cards.
And yes, I'm not really interested in trying to beat all decks all time, but I want to ensure my win against decks where we have a chance
Atm I'm not playing any sort of protection effect (Runed Halo or Leyline of Sanctity) because I never found them necessary. I know they're good, but I've rarely lost a match against Storm (and I know it's not the general consensus that storm is favorable), so I just chose not to play them even if they're great against Valakut.
Hi guys! I'm new to this thread, but I'm playing esper control for like 6 months now. Today I was at my LGS and I end up playing against RG Valakut. I have NO IDEA how to beat that deck. Please help me t.t Runed Halo naming Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle maybe? Do you guys think Leyline of Sanctity is better?

I'm trying History of Benalia and it's working great. It can deal a lot of damage to the opponent. Also, with no Spectral Procession I can run the full playset of Ghost Quarter, and Crucible of Worlds in the sideboard.
So, it seems like we both agree Gideons > Jace. What's your thoughts on Teferi, Hero of Dominaria?

I'm currently playing without Think Twice, I'm not sure it's right but I want to try the raw power of Search for Azcanta. I'm also trying Torrential Gearhulk, and that's why I have a Settle the Wreckage mainboard.
Just a couple of things:

I'm not sure about Gideon's Intervention, maybe Runed Halo is better in his slot.
Any feedback will be appreciated! Thanks
