I could see a red leyline as one that stops life gain and makes all damage unpreventable. Red does that occasionally and getting it out turn 0 would be a new twist.
First not as fast like the first sword equipment cycles but in that case it will have good ability or if they make the new sword have the same casting cost and equipment cost or lesser like its predecessor. i guess it would have some more toned down ability
For the speed and accessibility:
i guess the casting cost would be no lesser than 3casting cost or more and the equip cost would be also no lesser than 2.
Colored abilities:
For The Green theme
Might be
a) Token Related
b) Buff Related on End of turn
c) Mana Related
For Blue Theme
Any of the following?
a) Flying
b) Mill
c) Cards in Hand or Library Control
d) Return
Vampires won't be a tribe there, it was a ZEN block tribe.
I don't think so because it was in Zen that it can't continue in the next block since Vampires was not the same like an exclusive creature type like the "Kithkins" and "Samurai" type that is not available in very plane.
Vampires is a creature type that has been in many planes especially they have been in mirrodin like knights, elves and goblins.
Plus Mirrodin's zombies(which looks beastly rather unlike more tribal type onslaught and coldsnap ones) has a very little interaction on its storyline while Vampires which only few creature type but it can multiple.
Unless R&D would do a surprise with the Moriok to be a Rogue, Assassin or Mercenary tribe?
M11 seems to reveal us that SOM Tribal Theme would be something with Constructs, Vampires and Knights.
It would be Tribal war between the Mephidross(Vampires) and Leonin or Aurioks that would be more centered on Knights this time rather than Soldier and Equipments that they did on Mirrodin years ago.
Plus few Golem and a new more organize Tribal name for an artifact would be "Construct".
It seems that there won't be Myr tribal in SOM? but a fewer myr would make it i guess.
I really like that the Kor are back and that we finally get to see their homeworld. Hope they still boast that damage redirection schtick
Oh and I agree with the former posters that he will deal with Equipment, my best guess would be: Equipment costs cost 2 less to attach (Wording)
If that case it casting cost would be equal or greater than 3 if it has additional bonuses like +1/+1 or it contribute its all several static ability even it has only it own static ability.
^These guys got the Red one nice guess dudes!

Maybe be they will be still there? and Veldalkens could be for blue? since there is no merfolk in mirrodin.

Do you think the Eldrazi would appear to SOM?
Green leyline would be a creatures based or land interaction as always.
The Green one would not be Greater than 3CC
would be better for elves and green decks
Black leyline would be a cards in hand based interaction and wouldn't be a graveyard interaction. sure of it.
The Black one would not be Greater than 2CC
White leyline wouldn't be creature interaction very very sure of it because knights are already indestructible.
The best guess for it that it would be a life or a control based leyline.
The White one would not be Less than or equal 4cc
Red again could be a be Haste, or Damage related leyline.
The Red one would not be Less than equal 3cc.
Red is suppose to be the secondary color for soldiers not blue.
While white is becoming a just soldier token mass producer with control abilites.
and green is turning into a classic better white weenies gameplay.
but who cares!
I think it would be centered on Morioksthe Auriok counterpart.
I think it would be a tribal system like Auriok, Morioks, Artificer, Elfs, Myrs, Golems with a few Cats.
I guess Dwarves and elemental would be re-introduces here.
Greater or equall 4cc cost.
Has 3 or less abilities for a planeswalker.
No token generating abilities but if it would have i guess it won't be a tribal supporting token (won't be a Soldier or a Kor).
I think it would have a buff for creatures.
And life gain ability.
Might Have a search ability of an only Land card, Aura card or Equipment card instead of an enchantment or artifact.
Last ability might be an similar to ***, Armagedon, Balance or has remove from the game abilities.
A new a multicolor planeswalker card? it won't be mono white!
Has 3 abilities!
creature effect. it could? something like prevent all damage to creatures you control this turn or gain life damage dealt this turn?
Token Abililtes. if there is? It won't be related to a tribal cards that was generated by the previous planeswalker.
In case of search abilities it might be an artifact, equipment i don't think it would be enchantment base but it could also be just an aura.
Armageddon or Balance effect?
Not really! To slow for monocolored white decks(which mostly build as aggro style) 7 plains is need more turns.
If that case it casting cost would be equal or greater than 3 if it has additional bonuses like +1/+1 or it contribute its all several static ability even it has only it own static ability.
