KTK - enemy gold and wedges
FRF - allied gold and enemy gold
Third set - allied gold and shards.
Not likely. KTK is the first and only wedge set in this block. If there are enemy or allied golds for the next two sets, it will be for the 6-15 of the set, 5 easily for clan champions. If they did continue with golds, that would mean theros would have less mutli-block synergy as many of its cards care less about multicolor and more about monocolor; which would mean we are back to effectively RTR+Theros for blocks. As the playerbase has come to know, RTR+Theros was a horrible combination as both were fighting each other on color spectrum; to build a monocolored or to build a mutlicolor.
Thankfully, although KTK is a wedge block, its got many mono colored goodies that make it so Theros is not obsolete.
I am very disappointed. I wanted a morph enabler for standard. Having a 2/2 for 3 never does the job. The land is completely irrelevant in this set.
[...]
I'm with you there, they couldn't really lower the cost of morph, but they could have used this land to reduce it's cost by one, or maybe buff up face-down creatures, gain life for a casting a morph, etc etc.
Maybe between this and Radiant Fountain, we might see a life matters theme in an artifact cycle?
or something like:
T: Add 1 to your mana pool.
T: Add 2 to your mana pool. Spend this mana only on morph costs.
I like it for an uncommon as it feels like an uncommon.
T2: land, Magma Jet your opponent for 2, scry 2. (20-2=18)
T3: land, 1/1 Dude
T4: land, Purphoros
T5: land, ???
T6: land, Swing with dude, cast Howl of the Horde, cast Hordeling Outburst and copy it twice for 9 goblin tokens, GG (18-18=0)
You be missing Purphoros, God of the Forge. He kind of helps push damage. Plus he is handy if you got spare mana and any of your tokens get through. As if even if only two get through and you three mana left and nothing else to spend it on, you could deal 4 damage instead of 2.
Purphoros + Goblin Rabblemaster = (2+2=4) damage for it's first turn, 2 damage every subsequent turn.
Purphoros + Howl of the Horde (w/o Raid) + Hordeling Outburst = 12 damage.
Purphoros + Howl of the Horde (w/ Raid) + Hordeling Outburst = 18 damage.
Purphoros + Hordeling Outburst = 6 damage.
Purphoros + Stormbreath Dragon = (2+4=6) damage.
Thank you all for the suggestions. I will go with Animar. I was hesitant on Animar as he tends to draw a lot of hate and was wondering if there was anything I wasn't seeing with the others.

if something like this was in this set, it would have already been spoiled. remember we are going back in time in the next set, and also that MaRo said KTK is about shards, the rest of the block is not. I don't believe we'll see them
There is always room for multicolored legends aka champions in Fate Reforged or Dragons of Tarkir. However I do concur that focus will shift from multicolor to dual/single color to maintain strong ties with Theros for a standard environment.
When Jeering Instigator was spoiled, many people commented that it is ok to be rare because creature stealing is bad in limited. But now they are printing Act of Treason at common, so that can't be the reason.
I'm normally not one to complain about rarities, but this one strikes me as a bit out of place. Could it be that it could have been an uncommon, but that uncommon was too crowded?
Highly likely. Consider how many other goodstuff commons and uncommons KTK has brought to us. They looked at it and probably said Jeering Instigator could be placed to rare as we have too many uncommons and not enough rares. Though I wish they made it a 2/1 for R or 3 + R for the Morph cost to have threaten on it.
I am trying to create a RUG morph deck and I am having trouble deciding on who should be at the helm of this. Each one comes with its own upsides and its own drawbacks, but I am not sure which one would be the best.
I'm not sure Atheros + Siege Rhino is a great combo (or maybe that it isn't "combo-y" enough). You are just removing the choice for your opponent, since there is no reason why you wouldn't pay three life to prevent an immediate three life lost.
That is card synergy, not combo. Synergy is two or more cards that work well together. Combo, think of it as the tier above synergy, where two or more cards can result in a game winning combination on that turn.
Another example of card synergy is Atheros + Bloodsoaked Champion. With both out, your opponent is provided two options, both of which are unfavorable.
1) I could pay 3 life to prevent the champion from returning to his hand, but if he swung this turn anyway with the champion, then that means he triggered raid for the turn and can just spend 1B to return his champion anyway.
2) I could not pay 3 life, but that means he only has to pay B instead of 1B to put his champion onto the battlefield.
Well he did fight a cave bear. If a cave bear is supposed to be bigger and tougher than the bears we seen on Tarkir so far (4/4), it would have had to been at least a 5/5 or 5/6.
or as strong as a bear (4 power) but quick enough to punch in the face (first strike, which makes sense in red), and would still be able to have a reasonable toughness (anywhere from 1-4). 6/6 just seems silly to me, but not as silly as other cards made semi-recently like emmara soo...Im pretty much over it I guess lol
I concede to that point, though he is apparently worth a more pretty penny than the other khans.

This set feels more... proportionate with its power throughout the rarities. Theros main problem, and I did like it, was that commons and uncommons were on a far more dramatically lower power scale than the rares or mythics within the same block. Yet that is not the same impression I am getting from Khans of Tarkir. There are strong commons and uncommons and there are strong rares and mythics as well.
Easy example of a good common is Hooting Mandrills; a 4/4 Trampler for 6 mana with delve. Yet the mandrills reward the player for having cards in the yard and with just five in the yard you can throw down a 4/4 Trampler for G. Which would have been at least an uncommon in Theros.

I plan on running in the deck
1x Chromeshell Crab
1x Master of the Veil
1x Ixidor, Reality Sculptor
1x Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir
1x Akroma, Angel of Fury
1x Krosan Cloudscraper
1x Xenagos, God of Revels
1x Dream Chisel
1x Vesuvian Shapeshifter
1x Brine Elemental
1x Thousand Winds
1x Secret Plans
1x Trail of Mystery
1x Zoetic Cavern
1x Pine Walker
1x Aphetto Runecaster
1x Weaver of Lies
1x Dermoplasm
1x Quicksilver Dragon
1x Willbender
1x Unblinking Bleb
1x Unstable Hulk
Go dual color if you plan to abuse this card. From my experience, it is easier. Considering I am running this, Purphoros, God of the Forge, Curse of the Swine, Ætherspouts.

Theros =/= Khans of Tarkir.
