Those are fair points. I guess at the very least I'll stop linking to DeckStats ports of my lists in my primers.
Some notes - apparently my WB deck still features some green, and the lands that aren't green are apparently colourless. Also, given the fact that your pie charts are highlightable and clickable and something happens when you click, it'd be nice if it'd, say, bring up that selection of cards or something.

Dec 16, 2017Rumpy5897 posted a message on MTGSalvation's Deckbuilder is Here!I tossed my Daxos primer list up on it for fun, pieces are still green, the order of the cards within sections feels frankly random, all the enchantment creatures went to live with the enchantments. Not sure what's the point of the printing specification, or how to control it when pasting a list (i.e. 95+% use cases of the thing). Not really sure this was needed, in all honesty, given the fact the forums exist and have decks.Posted in: Articles

Just because there's an option to produce a one-shotting, game-ending Skittles doesn't mean that it's the only thing that one should do with this deck. There's some sacrifice effects, some wraths, some sacrifice-effects-on-legs, some wraths-on-legs, good times. And as the creatures actually do stuff, it would be nice to be able to reuse them, so there's a small "get-out-of-graveyard" package in place as well. There's also a proliferate package, for offensive or political use.
Wanted to run some pillow fort in here, but I couldn't find more than five or so cards, and a lot of them were more taxing than just pillow fort'y so I gave up.

So, what do you folks think? I'm a bit concerned with my land total, but I'm running nine mana rocks and my curve's relatively low on the whole. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, this is my first proper EDH brew
In the end, whilst this has the potential for bombastic game-ending explosions, the previous "16-lord" aggro list seems to be more consistent.
I'll probably test out a mana ramp list later today, going for the big five-drop lords. Will probably suck. If it doesn't, I'll report back.
Lovely. If it gets banned, then there's no point to get it, is there. Damnit, I was having such a great time ironing out the details of the list on cockatrice and now it rockets out of range because some dude had to win a GP
The mentioned "midgame presence" is a bit deceptive - on the whole, the deck provides as much "midgame presence" as you'd expect from a list heavy on weenies with no boosts. The trick is that around the midgame you achieve critical mass of your trigger things to go off and blow them up. Quest is a powerhouse, considering upping to 4x, possibly at the cost of the rather slow shrine.
I don't see much point to eidolon, as due to the nature and cost of the spells it's not quite as asymmetrical as it is in burn. Plus, ash zealot is a sick two-drop. Goblin guide is absolutely amazing here though, it's nice that it's pretty much the only non-budget upgrade.
It should be noted that the deck is quite sensitive to counters/removal when attempting to go for the big kaboomboom. Nothing like getting that huge spitfire pathed or that 10 damage goblin grenade noped.
My trial list has been thus far identical to what OP mentions as his brew, with goblin guides instead of bushwhackers and needle drops instead of spark jolts.
4 Cavern of Souls
4 City of Brass
4 Reflecting Pool
4 Sliver Hive
4 Galerider Sliver
4 Striking Sliver
4 Diffusion Sliver
4 Frenzy Sliver
4 Leeching Sliver
4 Predatory Sliver
4 Sinew Sliver
4 Two-Headed Sliver
4 Syphon Sliver
4 Frenetic Sliver
4 Harmonic Sliver
3 Opaline Sliver
Simple deck is simple - just playsets and as streamlined as possible in terms of design. All 16 "lords" (I count Leeching Sliver and Frenzy Sliver as lords too), all of the evasion, Syphon Sliver as the only three-drop, plus the deathtouch+first strike cuteness. I miss Sentinel Sliver the most, and Sidewinder Sliver lost out to Striking Sliver thanks to the latter's higher usefulness on defence (and deathtouch shenanigans).
The mana base makes it near impossible to cast anything that isn't slivers, but handles artifacts okay. As such, sideboard Liquimetal Coating for maximum cuteness, Harmonic Sliver suddenly turns everything into Vindicates. Frenetic Sliver for boardwipes, and Opaline Sliver for... uh... I think I wanted him there to help out Diffusion Sliver. Maybe he can be dropped for the brilliant anti-affinity Ghostflame Sliver suggested upthread?
Yeah, I failed to take the uncounterability into account, as I falsely assumed that the stag would do just fine for that. A stag won't deal 4 damage to all the flyers though, will it, so there goes that. This is a pretty good argument for the card, yes. Too many sideboard cards, too few slots. Darn.
Also, the crazy versatility of the bow means it's useful against just about anything in one way or another, making it a pretty valid main spot
Thanks for the Surgical Extraction catch, will be sure to run a 2/2 split. I thought that the sideboards were that way just for the sake of it, shame on me - I was reading up on 8rack quite a bit before popping in here, and they do use those sort of shenanigans.
Wouldn't Raking Canopy do a better job of mass-hating out just about everything that makes Skylasher worth it? True, it is one mana more. Or is Skylasher often used just to surprisingly kill x/2's the enemy ships your way, be it airborne or not?
In fact, I enjoyed the thread and discussion so much that I made an account on here and threw together a list, I'd be really thankful if you folks could point out its shortcomings before I hit the card vendors:
4 experiment one
4 dryad militant
4 kalonian tusker
2 scavenging ooze
4 strangleroot geist
2 dungrove elder
4 leatherback baloth
4 rancor
4 vines of vastwood
2 aspect of hydra
2 bow of nylea
1 beast within
2 obstinate baloth
2 great sable stag
2 creeping corrosion
2 wheel of sun and moon
2 pithing needle
1 dismember
Yes, I'm cheap, this may be apparent from the start of the post as such, Dungrove Elder is the late game hexproof beatstick instead of Thrun, the Last Troll. Not having any four-drops main makes me gut-feel that 20 land isn't punishable by death, and that gives me some room to run 2x Bow of Nylea, which seems like a great utility item to work with during drawn-out games. Beast Within is a singleton on the off-chance it rips through an Ensnaring Bridge or something critical along those lines, but the discussion in the thread leads me to believe Dismember would be a better idea main.
I'd really love to run Torpor Orb and Grafdigger's Cage in the sideboard, but that screws with our own mechanics. Pithing Needle and Wheel of Sun and Moon are, hopefully, relatively capable of handling similar problem scenarios. Also, seeing how there's no Thrun, Great Sable Stag tries to stuff up the cracks that Dungrove Elder misses.
