Timba posted a message on [Deck] UBx MillAre you kidding? Replace Glimpse with Mission Briefing??Posted in: Aggro & Tempo
Replace one of the most efficient mill cards (in mill!) for random cast from your graveyard? With hard casting cost and even no reliability that you will have targets at all in your grave. And when you will have targets 80% of the times it wouldnt be Archive Trap -

Posted in: The Rumor MillQuote from Melkor »Well, Wizards flat out lied about having better answers starting with this set as far as I can tell. I'm glad to see that Bolas is cool, and I want a foil HoD,but that doesn't change them being liars, and I hope this set sells like Homelands.I usually do a few drafts, that will not be the case with this set. I will buy my couple busted threat singles and be done
Lies about what?
Hour of Revelation takes care of everything including PW
An entire list of cards to help with graveyards (answers to zombies and potential other decks)
Nimble Obstructionist seems solid and an answer to many annoying triggers.
You don't think Supreme Will will be a card that shows up? Mana Leak / Impulse seems good to me.
Abrade seems stupid good. Kill a Heart of Kiran or take out a creature...not sure how that's not an answer.
Of course the namesake Hour of Devastation ... not an answer?
While not an exact answer but Ramunap Hydra can be bigger than pretty much any threat including Kiran and with the vigilance lets them play defensively and aggressively against zombies.
I mean seems like there's plenty here to help shake standard up. For a non-rotating set, I think this will create more decks than most.

This is your new home and I am your new host. My name is Meren of Clan Nel Toth but you can call me "Mereanimother" like everyone else does. Let me introduce you to some of your friends: This is Mindslicer. I bet you will make a good team. This zombie person is called Phyrexian Delver. He will help you wake up early and prepare your breakfast. Avenger of Zendikar will serve your dinner. He will make sure everyone at the table is stuffed full. And these are, in order of obscenity, Gamekeeper, Sepulchral Primordial, and Sheoldred, Whispering One. Although she is a bit xenophobic and tends to victimize herself time to time, I am sure you will get along with Eternal Witness, too.
So enjoy your stay and welcome to our EDH deck!

MysticLeviathan posted a message on Fraying Sanity Diário PlaninautaThis is actually extraordinarily powerful in mill. And it isn't just cards that are milled. If the cursed player cracks a fetch, on that turn's end step, the player puts a card in his or her graveyard. If the cursed player plays a counterspell, a card goes into the graveyard at that turn's end step. And if you have two curses attached, they'll stack on each other. So if you play Glimpse the Unthinkable on a player with two curses, that player puts 40 cards into his or her graveyard, as the number of cards is determined on resolution.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
For what this card wants to do, it's actually obscene. And at 3 mana, it's incredibly reasonable. If you're interested in making a mill deck, this is a card that needs to be in it. -

Because it's actually quite deserving of that slot? Milling, at each end step, based on cards, not permanents put there that turn? Its a pretty powerful effect at a very reasonable cost. I like it at rare. -

Im not gonna go into the games(it was an relatively easy match, another 2 even, and the final that was against humans) i just wanted to post a couple of lessons learned from the event:
-ensnaring bridge, at cmc 3, has nothing going for it(in my meta at least) so i prolly goin to drop it from sb on the next events.
-i was NOT a believer of MD collective brutallity, but yesterday the card overperformed for me, so it has earned the right to stay there
-likewise, profane memento pretty much won me the humans matchup... gonna go up to 4
-finally, triple U is kinda hard to get on time for mission briefing to be THAT useful(i mean, it is, its just that i found myself with more that one in hand and not the third blue to cast anythig useful with it in a decisive turn).... i was playing 3, i think im gonna chop it back to 2
Still, it was a nice surprise for such a deck to be performing the way it did... even with bad starting hands...
im gonna keep working on it...ill keep u posted

+1 exile the top card of your library, until end of turn you may play that card, if u dont, chandra torch of defiance does 2 dmg to target opponent
+1 add RR to your mana pool
-3 chandra torch of defiance deals 4 to creature
-7 you get emblem: each time u cast spell this emblem does 5 dmg to target creature or player
4 loyalty, mana cost 2RR
im guessing somebody could have lost his job for that slip....
